Rise & Shine Morning Boost Yoga Class - Five Parks Yoga

  • Rise and shine and start your day off right with an invigorating vinyasa flow class. Begin in a cross legged seated position to cultivate breath awareness through the avenue of Ujjayi pranayama. After warming up the breath, begin to warm up the body with neck and spinal stretches as you bring energy into the limbs by vigorously shaking out the hands and feet.
    Early in class, we activate the core in table top knee lifts and up/down dog transitions. Stretch the legs and hips in downward facing dog and wide legged low lunge with a bonus quad stretch. Enjoy energetic sun salutations that lead right into a variety of postures which keep you in constant motion. Balance in poses such as standing staff, airplane and vertical twist as you seamlessly weave one posture into the next. Sequences of postures become familiar as you start to layer and add on postures with optional challenging variations.
    Try out a one legged chaturanga, as you move through creative transitions in revolved and fallen triangle. Open your chest and shoulders as you hold warrior one and humble warrior. Take the opportunity to stretch the lower half of the body in a balanced butterfly pose and malasana, preparing your body to balance in crow pose.
    The later part of class includes calming deep stretches like a belly down shoulder stretch, half pigeon, happy baby, and Savasana. Have a glorious day!

    This was really fun and nice :D I'm always a bit thrown off when there's part of a sequence "missing" on one side, but the overall greatness definitely outweighs that :) thank you so much

      Glad you enjoyed this one. Yeah, we had a glitch on this one and after filming we realized that there were a few missing poses when we had to pause for construction noise for about 10 min... glad to hear that you are all paying attention though! Certainly one thing I miss about live classes is that you can call me out right then and there to remind me :) Have a great day!!

    I'm loving your new classes, especially revolved postures that explore movement within poses. This class really is very energizing.
    I just want to say.... It's been a couple of hours since I finished this class and I still feel energized. I feel great!

    I would love to see a class where there is a main sequence that is repeated several times without any add ons or changes. Those kinds of classes are so meditative for me. Thank you for posting yoga classes!

    Thanks for the lesson Erin! I would suggest keeping a list of poses with you to remember what to do on the other side, it’s quite common in your videos that a part is missing.

      I haven’t tried this class and am excited to though. You are correct about her often missing things on the second side. I only realize because my SECOND side is my stronger side so I always feel like I don’t want that side forgotten. Often I just pause the video and get it in.
