I was just wondering how the Speed Pro would compare against the Gravity Tour (BOTH GRAPHENE 360+ VERSIONS). They are almost identical in specs except for the beam is 1mm thinner on the Gravity Tour and the weight is a little lower, as is the swingweight. The power map shows them both to be about the same. They both have a nice low 60s RA rating and they both have a 18x20 string pattern. What differences should I expect from these frames ??
This is a very good question, and something I consider myself a bit of an expert in. The spark notes: the speed pro has more spin and power but less control, consistency, and user friendliness.
This guy gives the best in-depth reviews! Love the terminology as well. I just demoed the Gravity Pro, and am a huge fan of the feel.. stable, control oriented, and surprising spin. You can really swing out with it, therefore heightening that ceiling in seeking further potential in your skills. A lot of fun to hit with. Thanks for the awesome review.
Thanks. At my level I just try to point the strings where I want the ball to go. I like my Speed but my string choice, adding poly to multi mains, made the ball fly long.
Which is a better racquet between speed pro , speed MP , gravity pro , gravity MP and Wilson blade 98 18/20 ? Also which string setup would you suggest along with tension in pounds with respect to each racquet As I don’t have the luxury to test them out would be of great help if I could get help . Thank you
Better is always a relative term; my favourite is the Gravity Pro. Any poly will work in the rackets, for the Speed Pro, go for 50#, MP, 53#, Gravity Pro 48#, MP 50#, and for the Blade go for 47#.
Interesting, I actually found Auxetic Speed Pro to have significantly lower launch angle than GPro. GPro responses much better to lifting and shaping the ball. That said, notice my Speed is buffed to GPro SW, and both tail-weighted to be 32cm of balance, 340g static fully furnished
Interesting what you say about lifting/shaping the ball. I wonder if this has something to do with the fact the pocketing is much more well defined so you feel more control over that lifting motion while it sits in the stringbed. I have to say I think purely from a technical point of view, the Speed is more spin friendly.
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver I actually measured their stringbeds, and they are almost identical in terms of density in the middle. Like 0.5mm difference if you take 8-10 middle mains and crosses. GPro has that “middle” closer to the tip, and is obviously a tad wider. Those longer crosses in the middle bring better liveliness (and spin window is wider) for Gravity. I actually did compare them side-by-side. Speed does spin the ball well enough, but by whatever reason doesn’t want to lift it unless I open the stringbed. But this hurts the spin instantly, and I just have to hit low over the net, or balls start sailing, or I need to artificially over spin them. With gravity, the shape is just more natural and easy for me, more net clearance and curve on “default” drives. I have some guys agreeing with me with this assessment. And overall Gravity seems just great for me. Yesterday hit some kicks which bounced hugely 🔥
Very good explanation, I feel exactly the same with the speed. The amount of spin is good and absolutely sufficient, but the curve of the ball often remains low. Same with the Ezone 98, but it is better in handling and the ball curve can be influenced a lot easier. If only the GPro had a little less swing weight...
Hello really enjoy the detail in your explanations of these two racquets and I have been able to demo both, the one id like your feedback on as I cannot find a demo is the newer Head prestige mp as it has similar specs to the gravity pro and speed pro in this review, thanks!
Comparing the radical mp 2023 to the ezone 98 2022 would be nice! They seem like very similar frames on paper, but would love to hear your take on the nuances between them. Thanks Luca!
Excellent review, thanks. I didn't get perpendicular to the ground contact point and parallel to the ground contact point... can't get my mind around what you meant. Which racket would you consider more arm friendly? Thanks fir the review!
Thank you! Think parallel to the ground = modern spin-friendly stroke and perpendicular = more classic flat stroke. Both are very arm friendly but the Gravity Pro ever so slightly more so.
I think what he meant is the forward phase of the swing. For some players (like del Potro, Schwartzman), the strings are pointed sideways while the racket is going forward. For some players (most modern players), the strings are pointed down while the racket is going forward.
Two very different rackets looking to accomplish a similar goal. More consistency/power with the Gravity, more manoeuvrability/spin with the Pro Staff.
Question: thoughts on potential impacts of touching up a raquet with paint to black out? Would the weight balance be impacted on a raquet like Boom Pro?
Yes, you will definitely impact certain things unless you are absolutely perfect with sanding and reapplying the exact same amount of weight. In this case, it's probably best to leave it to professional customizers.
They are both fairly heavy but the Speed Pro is noticeably more maneuverable. In terms of control, I would say the Speed Pro as well but it's very close.
Good morning, I have a question. Some say that stiffness determines whether one racket is more powerful than another, but others say that it is the power scale or psi that determines it. If you can clarify that for me, I would appreciate it, because it happens that the radical, for example, has 65 RA while the speed pro 2022 has 61 RA, which suggests that the radical is more powerful but when you look at the power scale, the radical has 200 and the speed pro 300 suggesting that the speedpro is more powerful. Thank you very much for answering .
Stiffness can determine power but it also stems from other things like string pattern, beam thickness, racket shape. Don't worry too much about Head's CPI but when you see a thicker frame, or a frame that has more modernly shaped lines you can expect it to be more powerful.
I come from playing with a custom Aero 100 2023 at 310 grams, to have stability and more power, I want to change to head speed pro to have more stability and control, I am an aggressive baseline player... I have always loved the Wilson Blade 98 v7 …but the 98 rim was very demanding…do you recommend the speed or the gravitation coming from the pure aero? very good video!!! thank you so much❤❤❤
Thank you! The Speed would be perfect for you as it's kind of like a controlled version of the Aero. It still has Aerodynamic engineering whereas the Gravity is much more classic in its shape. Give the Speed Pro a shot!

WOW man, really good review!! i play with a Gravity MP 360+ and i love it... but i am always looking for new frames and i think that gravity pro can be a good one for me, because i like the frame and because of the more closed string pattern (18x20).... the only concern is about the weight, but i think in gravity pro is quite ok to deal it, right? Thanks for the review!
It's definitely a heavy racket especially if you're coming from an MP. If you have the chance to demo it, give it a go but I would be careful going in on it without trying it first.
Thanks for the video❤ sometimes I struggle with swining the gravity pro fast enough, especially on my forehand. So I am wondering should I go for speed pro (5g less) or the gravity tour?
I really can't say. Like I mention in the video I'm not sure the Speed actually IS faster than the Gravity because it's thicker with a higher swing weight, so you would have to demo first to be sure it would work for you.
@Luka - a serious question - if YOU are to play a tournament and with a goal of having frame help you the most, which one would you pick? Speed Pro or Gravity Pro?
What about it did you hate at first? I am not loving it, but have used in only a couple of times. I don't understand what people like about it so much.

Great and very detailed comparison! Have you tried the new prestige tour(old prestige pro)? If you have how would it compare to the gravity pro? Mainly I'm looking for the power potential you can generate.(Meaning if you can handle the swingweight well and go for it)
I tried it very briefly and absolutely hated it, but it was my first time playing tennis in over 2 months so take that with a massive pinch of salt. What I will say is that it has a very high power potential; the only racket I can compare it to in that regard (considering all other factors) is the RF97.
I have both the Soeed Pro and the Auxetic Prestige Tour. The feel is very much the same. However, there is even more stability with the Prestige, especially on volleys. I used a 1.23 gauge string on both because the launch angle on the Prestige is surprisingly low for a 16x19. The Speed Pro is just a little more sluggish through the air. This is because its static weight is lower with a SW of almost 330. You’ll feel the heft in the hoop. The Prestige has a heavier static weight and because of this, there is more weight in the handle, making it more head light in comparison and easier to swing, in spite of its almost 340 SW.
Thanks Luca for the review, in the coming days I'm gonna test exactly these two frames... Hope they're not too much for a young guy getting older (55 yo ! 😅) close to a 4.0 level
@RacketsRunnersVancouver btw... tested the Speed Pro and didn't suited my game (hope it's a nice way to say that I didn't liked it); but the Gravity TOUR actually felt... awesome! I'm in love with this frame, not too demanding yet great feeling. a couple of last tests (Boom Pro and Yonex VCore 98) and then I'm done! thanks again for your reviews :)
Either one will do the trick; at that point it's really determining whether you want the more traditional feel/flex of the Gravity over the more modern playability of the Speed.
Thank you. I'll try to highlight more specific strokes in the future. The Speed will have a bit more power potential on serve, and it's plenty consistent so I will say the Speed.
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver I guess i'll have to try them out. Just got an old Speed Graphene XT. Let's see how it compares to my Pure Strike 16x19. Thanks for the reply :))
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver What about the Gravity Tour? Have you tried it, how do you think it compares to these two? The specs of the Tour suggest it would be a more realistic oprion for me.
Im a 3.0 -3.5 player (playing for 2,5 years, once a week just with a friend - no competitive yet). 33year old male. I like to hit big from the baseline more, than rushing through the net. I’m trying to play with spin but I’m not the best spin player of my technique. So if I try to hit winners, I often shoot em too flat and they are going too long - out. I’m actually playing the 2023 head extreme mp, because I thought „if I’m not good enough to generate spin with a good technique, maybe the extreme mp can help me with it. But now I’m thinking, maybe I need a more control friendly racket. I’m thinking of the speed or the gravity line. But I don’t know which is better for me and which model i should take (MP, Tour, Pro of gravity or speed) What do you suggest me to get?
I've been wanting to do these two for a while now but it looks like we're phasing out the VCORE Pro 100, so I'll probably wait till the new one comes out.
@RacketsRunnersVancouver hi Luka, I would like to ask you or someone who understands, to explain one thing to me, I have been playing tennis professionally and I have been training it for two years, let's say I have been playing recreationally, I play with Babolat Pure Drive 315 g, I have been reading and watching about rackets for a long time and I'm thinking of switching to Head, because I'm missing that kind of control in the exchanges, and now I'm really undecided between Gpro or Spro, so I'm interested in the opinion of which racket might be better suited?
I think the Speed Pro would be perfect! It's going to be closer in playability and feel to the Pure Drive, just with much more control so it sounds perfect for you!
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver I used to play tennis recreationally, but now for the last year and a half, almost 2, I have been doing it professionally, in the sense that I train tennis, I play it in a club, I think I am intermediate level, I am still looking for myself, I don't know exactly which racket would suit me Novak is my idol, his style of play I like it, I took the Babolat PD, it's not bad, but I feel like I lack control and that's why I consider Head to take, so I asked for your opinion on which racket you would recommend and maybe what weight, because my current racket is 315 g plus 9 grams of Babolat weights and is that maybe too heavy for me?
Do you guys think that it is worth to invest money to switch from gravity pro 2019 to gravity pro auxetic 2023 ? Some youtubers say 2023 version is not as good as previous generations. Other youtubers say 2023 version is slightly better. Assuming it is slightly better; is it better enough to expend money to switch from 2019 version to an auxetic one? Thanks for any help guys
IMO it depends on how you define “better”. It’s a subjective term. From my experience I can say it was a no brainer to get 23 version. Reason being that it felt more solid on contact yet maintained a super buttery feel plus it seemed easier to swing as the SW despite being 330 felt lighter. These were the reasons for me to get the 23 version so I got 2!
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver So you talking about the Head Speed or the Head Extreme? I am confused :D Or do you mean the racket speed of the Wilson Ultra? :)
I just played with new gravity pro and holy cow, it may be the best raquet ever for my game. Although it’s 315 g, it doesn’t feel heavy at all. It’s more maneuverable than older version and feels rock solid, while being buttery soft, I’m in love.
if you like the buttery soft and rock solid you should try the pro staff X or six one, I demoed those 2 this week and gravity pro last week, the pro staff are more solid and buttery feel upon contact while maintaining the same level of control
Having struggled a little with the surprisingly small sweet spot, I put a Lynx Tour / Velocity hybrid on my Gravity Pro 360+ and found a huge improvement in playability and forgiveness over straight poly while maintaining great control. It's truly shocking how much better my play is with this setup. Almost seems like cheating!
A lot of people have been saying this. I am personally more comfortable taking a big cut of the ball with the Gravity which is why I can produce more spin, but if you're keeping all things equal, the Speed Pro has more spin potential.
I don't understand why you refer to the speed pro as having a bigger sweet spot than the gravity pro. According to my experience the gravity has a bigger sweet spot although it isn't much bigger. The speed pro feels more muted overall, but that is not a sweet spot. But that's my experience.
Interesting, I can't say I agree but maybe it's because there's one clear area in the Gravity's sweet spot that feels much sweeter than the rest, whereas the Speed doesn't have that same super sweet zone to me.
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver head even marketed the gravity as the stock with the biggest sweet spot. They called it massive sweet spot in their introduction and generally the sweet spot size is mostly defined by the width of the head at the contact area in combination with twist stability and a little bit the string pattern/ density. Maybe lack of quality control resulted in a lower twist weight which negatively impacts the twist stability which gives a feeling of a smaller sweet spot. 1 point of twist weight is a huge difference in twist stability, as i experimented. So maybe by lack of quality control your speed had a higher twist weight than average and the gravity a lower than average. In that case the twist stability of the speed feels better than the gravity and give you a feeling of a bigger sweet spot. It's hard to say what the root cause is. But based on the other attributes and head's marketing the gravity should have the bigger sweet spot on paper and according to my experience with my gravity pro and speed pro (which i had the last 3 iterations of) for me the gravity has the bigger sweet spot. The speed head feels now rigid because of the 3 additional mm in the beam, but that is not sweet spot, but rigidness of the head. The gravity head plane can deform a little bit more than the speed head plane. The rackets flex differently as you said. The speed flexes more in the neck, while the gravity flexes more linear over the whole length of the racket. Ergo, the gravity with 20mm beam will flutter faster than the speed with 23mm beam
@@LarzB Yes, I completely agree with you on the twist weight side of things the Gravity is higher than the Speed. It's just, like you said, with those 3 extra mm of thickness the Speed, and that modern shape/flex is so much less fluttery than the Gravity on off centre hits, that it just makes for a bigger feeling "sweet spot" to me although, I guess, technically that wouldn't be considered the sweet spot since it is an off centre hit. I guess what I'm trying to say is that the Speed is a more forgiving racket, IMO and the Gravity more precise and sweet.
really nice and solid comparision, agree with almost everything you said as i've tested both for a long period of time. Would be cool to see the shift 315 as a video comparision by quoting this video. Also a comparision with blade 16x19 with rad mp is something a lot a people ask arround and there's no video about
Blade and Radical is a great one, definitely on the books. I'll probably wait till the full release of the Shift comes out to do that video but it will be a VERY interesting one.
@RacquetsRunnersVancouver (Luka) after a year now and more testing, has your opinion on these two change any? In my case, I got both. I ended up selling Gravity Pro because it was too sluggish on spin shots (kick serve, top spin forehand) and too low on the shot angle. I stuck with Speed Pro and it has been my main frame. It is, in my opinion, a players’ frame trineer - spin, power, control.
Try the Head Auxetic Prestige Tour. It’ll blow your mind. Don’t string it above 51lbs though. The plow through and flex are amazing. 95sq inches, 335-340 swing weight, but very maneuverable. It’s not for the faint of heart though. It’s made for advanced players that can swing fast, serve big, and know how to move the ball around the court with ease. Enjoy!

Thank you! The Extreme PWR should be identical (or nearly) to the Ti.S6, so you'll feel right at home there.
Hi Luca, leather grip for gravity pro?
It's already very heavy but if you're ready to swing that high weight then it will complement it perfectly.
Realy Nice review
Which racket is better for hitting good consistent flat service is also signigicant please put this parameter in your reviews
Thank you. I'll try to highlight more specific strokes in the future. The Speed will have a bit more power potential on serve, and it's plenty consistent so I will say the Speed.
How do they compare with smaller head control oriented 16x19 rackets in terms of control, ease of use etc?
They are both easier to use and the Speed isn't going to be as precise as anything with a
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver I guess i'll have to try them out.
But I don’t know which is better for me and which model i should take (MP, Tour, Pro of gravity or speed)
What do you suggest me to get?
Go for the Gravity MP. You're right about looking for something controlled it will work better with your technique.
Gravity Tour user here.
Would love to see a comparison between G Pro and ProStaff v14.
Would you want me to compare it with the X or the 97?
Do you have RDC TO see the actual RA on these rackets
V core pro 97 user. Thinking of switching to speed for more power and stability. What u think?
go for speed pro
Gravity MP and some VCP 100 please.
Would love to see Gravity Pro vs Percept 100D video
Unfortunately, we don't carry the 100D.
Excellent review! Some subtle things were very well said!
Thank you kindly!
Maybe you wanna do a comparison of Wilson Ultra 100 V4 vs. Head Extreme MP?
They are quite different; the Ultra is much more powerful and the Speed much more controlled so probably a little too different to compare directly.
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver So you talking about the Head Speed or the Head Extreme? I am confused :D
Or do you mean the racket speed of the Wilson Ultra? :)
Lynx Tour Champagne is beautiful, specially in a Blade V8.
Totally agree, I LOVE that string colour. Played with Signum Pro Firestorm for a year just because it looked so nice...
I just played with new gravity pro and holy cow, it may be the best raquet ever for my game. Although it’s 315 g, it doesn’t feel heavy at all. It’s more maneuverable than older version and feels rock solid, while being buttery soft, I’m in love.
The "holy cow" feeling you get when you first try a Gravity (or use it for the first time in a while) hit's different I can't lie 😅
if you like the buttery soft and rock solid you should try the pro staff X or six one, I demoed those 2 this week and gravity pro last week, the pro staff are more solid and buttery feel upon contact while maintaining the same level of control
Head Gravity Pro or Yonex Percept 97D?
I haven't played with the 97D yet but it's going to take a generational racket to beat out the Gravity, for me.
Please review Dunlop CX200, really good control racket
I'd really like to include it in a video but we're phasing them out so I may have to wait till the next one comes out.
That's what the Gravity does! Feels like you're cheating.
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver i wonder hybrid with gut/poly would expand the sweet spot as well?
about spin, to me for wathever reason the gravity has lower lauch angle but produce way more rpm and heavy ball
A lot of people have been saying this. I am personally more comfortable taking a big cut of the ball with the Gravity which is why I can produce more spin, but if you're keeping all things equal, the Speed Pro has more spin potential.
what are the most powerful 98 rackets?
Good question, probably worth its own video in the future...
Pure Strike 16x19
Gravity pro vs pure strike or wilson blade pls
That’s a great idea for a video, I’ll add it to the list and hopefully make my way to it in the future.
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver totally agree on that
I have the gravity 360+ and i really hate it. Love every prestige. Only hit serves and some drops with the speed pro
Why do you hate it?
@@johncharles2357 i couldnt control it. Blade v9 with lead tape at 3 and 9 is better for me
Funny intro. Ty
is this lynx tour champagne string??
Yes it is!
Pro staff x??
To me, it doesn't quite stack up in consistency/control compared to these two frames.
Are they any good for a one handed backhand?
I wouldn't recommend the Gravity but the Speed would be good compared to other 100s.
Gravity Pro vs Percept 100D and/or 97D!
I love the idea, we just haven't received the 100/97D yet.
Speed vs boom. That’s what I want to see.
really nice and solid comparision, agree with almost everything you said as i've tested both for a long period of time.
I wouldn't say my opinion has changed much, but I agree with most of what you're saying.
I'd loves to see you compare the gravity vs the prince textreme tour 310 100 or the tour 305 98, love the reviews so far!
Thank you! Unfortunately we don't cary Prince anymore, but if we ever do those would be two perfect ones to compare.
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver fair enough they aren't big sellers anymore, still good racquets. Still love you reviews keep em coming!

90% percent of my time i watch ur review of gravity pro vs speed pro wondering what to choose.
Ahaha same don’t worry
she was a speed pro, I was a gravity pro
If only they made a 90 or 95 sqi Gravity.
That would be a very interesting racket to try.
Enjoy!
Come on obviously the speed is more stable
The Gravity seems to be an imitation of the Yonex Vcore Pro
Woah, I don't know about that! Two great rackets but very different in their own right.
@@RacketsRunnersVancouverI was actually looking to see if there was any comments between this two racquets. How would you say they are different? Currently have a Vcore Pro HD (2019), when I bought it my other option was the Gravity. Now that I'm looking (dreaming?😅) of a replacement I was almost sure of the Speed pro but after watching this I felt the Gravity seems more similar to my Yonex, thoughts?
Side note, I spend too many hours watching tennis channels in UA-cam and for the first time one of your videos popped up. Just subscribed!🎉
What strings are those on the Speed Pro?
