i'm sorry to say, if you are 4.0 or below, you should be using a 110in racquet with 250g static weight. don't bother wasting money on strings either. unless you break em within 10min of play like me, you should just grab a ball of synthetic yarn from your nearby dollar store.
I'm the head stringer at a racket sports specialist in the UK and I'll say the best 'intermediate' or 'movers' level string set up for the majority of our customers are HYBRIDS 🙌 Soft poly on mains, multi or syn gut on cross. Some players might use a sided poly on mains

Spot on video. Velocity MLT is my go to as an intermidiate player. I’ve tried a ton of different setups and it really does everything I need and is very easy on the elbow.
Not sureabout the Head Velocity MLT. I strung my son's racquet with that and it locked up just like syn gut. Maybe it's the clay court's dust, but I return to syn gut for him. Also, I would suggest that copying a pro setup can turn out to be a bad idea. Pros change balls and racquet every 9 games, try that as an amateur player! So tension maintainance is key for us mortals. I missed that in the video. But for a quick look at what is available on the market the video is very good. Condenses but still comprehensive.
As a casual player who plays about 10hrs/week and had some elbow issues, I love so much a nice, comfortable, plush feeling strings on a soft racquet. Playing with Head MLT, 46lbs, on a Youtek Radical. Your game will adapt and you will get used to almost any setup, but with no arm fatigue nor pain
I had my radical mp auxetic strung with a full bed of volkl cyclone at 35lbs and it plays really well 😊 (i think intermediate players should consider stringing lower if they still want to use polyester)
@@TennComidk maybe it’s only me, but with low tension below 40, my poly strings just don’t snap back. There’re so loose that there is no force pulling them back in place.
Good video, I like that you recommended a few steps of string exploration based on how people evolve as tennis players, rather than one size fits all recommendations.
Great and helpful video. Just another alternative between hybrids and full polys, you have soft co-polys as regular Wilson revolve and for shape ones, volkl cyclone (I play the orange one but the yellow is the softest and it exists in real thin gauges). And of course, between poly and multis, you have the luxilon element which is simply great. Also note that lowering the tension is the way to go with polys. Hope you ll soon make a video on "soft sticks" for intermediates and advanced players with clash 98, custom Gravity mp, boom mp (with and without lead), prokennex, blade v7, etc... with dampening and/or flex tech (auxetic, feel flex/45, kinnetic, vdm...) And tell people to avoid racquet with a stiffness above 65 as you advice to avoid poly. Tennis is a sport with competition but players must take care of their body.😊
If I can keep the ball in on full full swings with a full multi setup, what is the benefit of poly? I am a womens 4.5 and break multi after 4-8 hours which is entirely acceptable to me for durability. The polys that I have tried, I'd have to swing near 100% for snapback which is not sustainable but I have not yet tried a higher powered or thinner poly. Setups that I've tried (All with ezone 100 2022 version) Full Velocity MLT 16 @ 55 - Power is good, touch is good, feel is too muted Full Hyper G 16 @ 46 - So dead unless I swing for the fences, great spin Full Yonex Rexis Comfort 16 @ 58 - Power is too high, control is too low Full Diadem Solstace Power 16 @ 47 -Power is not the best, super muted feel, good spin Full OGSM 17 @ 55 - Good power, nice crispy feel, spin potential too low Full Gosen AK Pro CX 17 @ 55 - Power is okay, not too muted, great spin for multi Full Yonex Poly Tour Pro 18 @ 47 - Good spin and snapback, decent but not great power Have tried all sorts of hybrids as well with the result that it ends up just feeling the same as what the mains feel like. Crossing with a more powerful string doesn't seem to boost the power of the polys enough. Crossing with a stiffer string like syn gut still doesn't change the feel of muted strings. Currently the best feeling and playing setup I found was AK Pro CX 17 @ 55 mains, Rexis Comfort 16 @ 53 crosses Any suggestions for more powerful or lively polys to try? Or just stick to full multi setup?
If you hit pretty flat, it might not even be worth going full poly for you. Flat hitters typically benefit more from the direction control of a nylon. If you want to try it one last time, Head Hawk Power is a really enjoyable hitting experience (more nylony than other polys) and I would recommend taking a bigger risk with your tension, dropping down to 43lbs. If you want something that really combines excellent direction control with ease of snapback, Grapplesnake Tour M8 is excellent. Its not super powerful, but its designed to be strung quite low. I was able to retain control at 40lbs and I think that would work for you too.
@@TennCom thanks so much! I will try hawk power as well as lynx and tourna big hitter blue to the more powerful polys list to try. Do you think there is even benefit to hybrid with poly? And if so do I try in mains or crosses?
Most players around here use either full poly or full multi/synthetic gut. I'm the only one that I know of who uses a multi in the mains, poly crosses.
Actually another option you don't mention is low tension polys. I was started to play back then Becker and Edberg are still playing. Back then no one tension under 60 or maybe i can say 65. I switched to polys after 10 years and keep tension around 55-60 for the next 10 years. As i got the idea that polys can string in even under 30 so i started to reduce tension step by step but i cost like the third ten years to get used to from 55 and finally reached 48 in this Sept. Last month i still feel 45 is sweet spot and this time i just try a set on 40 it's so amazing. it's much more forgive and i cannot see cons than 45. Losser polys are actually so different in forgiveness than higher than 48 lbs. It seems almost can do the same as a set of hybrid. I am a stringer myself so i string mine and all my friends rackets. We all getting older together (of course we play together that much years so we all almost same level), in the mean while they just use the same reel of mine which means long time ago that should be Pro Hurricane Tour and then after Babolat launched RPM blast then we all use the same reel. And they don't even care about tension because what i did to the racket they feel more than OK. Only a few not satisfied that much so i put multi to cross then they are perfectly fine. After i string all my friends rackets lower than 50, actually no one really noticed i am intensionally reduce their tension. After i reduced to 48 the last one of them still need a multi on cross, he no more need it. I am not a hater of hybrid just i don't really string set should look the same on mains and crosses. Haha. I cannot image to play a set of nylon or multi on 40 lbs but a set of poly on 40 really don't feel it's a loss set. It just performance still with tension just more forgiveness. It just give you some more friendly bonce when you flat hit. While top spin it don't feel more boncy but only make your ball going little bit deeper which also friendly.
My coach put in Hyper G 16 (55 lbs tension) strings for me and have no idea if they're right for me. They feel good, but I have no comparison. I'm wondering if I should switch to nylon, what would you suggest I try next?
Good video (other than the Gamma syn gut omission)! Agree that most intermediates should be using a good syn gut or multi (below average 4.0s and below in my opinion)
Great idea to pick this headline. Would be intressting to know what you will think of a great intermidiate solution. The Solinco Tour bite & Vanchish hybrid set.
Hello, coach. I’m intermediate leverl to upper intermediate. I use pro staff 97 V13 315 gr. I use tour bite string. Wich tension do you recommend me to play at the best performance. Because i alwyas try many tension. From 57,56,55,54,53 and now Main 52 with cross 50. Is it good if i string it with tension under 50 ? Like main 49, cross 48/47 ?
Thanks for this info. It would be great if you could provide equivalent options to restring zero or grapple snake for India as well. Is Technifiber ice code close enough? Would also like your comments/review on a soft poly which is Gosen Sidewinder sometime.
I was thinking of trying a multifilament with a polyester Would you sting the multifilament lower then the polyester the mono in the cross and the ploy in the Mains
I just came across you channel and it’s been such a live saver and I was wondering if you had some advice for me: I just got into tennis 6 months ago and have been playing pretty regularly with the hopes to continue improving my game as I’m getting really invested haha. I have a blade 100v9 16x19 and alu power for my strings (as that’s what some youtube research & my local tennis shop recommended). I don’t have any major issues with my set up for now but am looking to explore and try some new strings for starters to hopefully get a bit more control & spin (helping me more with top spin) primarily on my shot. Did you have any recommendations on strings for me? Based on your videos, I’m not someone who has yet broken their strings but I’d say as someone who has played sports all my life that power is something that came quickly to me, but I’d love a string that allows me to play at my best without capping my progression, so I’m stuck between sticking to a poly or changing to a multifilament (which my tennis shop owner didn’t recommend saying it would just reduce my abilities). Just like you mentioned in the video, a lot of my shots tend to cannon ball with more power than I’d like even as I try to work on more topspin during actual games vs in practice. Some strings I’ve narrowed it down to are head lynx tour or technifiber triax as I’m not sure if I should stick to polys or go for something like a multifilament based on this video. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Oh and a string thickness recommendation would be nice too!
One thing that's changed a little bit since I released this video... which I need to make an update for, is the presence of slippery soft polys. These are easier to use than ALU and you get much longer lasting performance. I really like the options from Toroline for this, but even going to something like Head Lynx (not Tour) would be a lot more forgiving than ALU.
@ Thanks for getting back to me! So in that case you would recommend Head Lynx and think a poly (not a monofil) would be best for me? (given my current racket set up) Also did you by chance have a string thickness recommendation?
Hi man from Greece, nice job! I have already two months blade 16/19 v8 and iam satisfied whith racket and control.i use lynx yellow colour many years. I would like maybe a little more power to my racket, and of course soft feeling like lynx. What do tou think some recommendations?
Most bite I've tried is YTEX Square-X Sharp. I didn't love the playability though and I think Grapplesnake Game Changer gets 95% of the way there in terms of bite (2nd sharpest I've tried, more that Ultra Cable) and plays better with more control and feel.
Hi Tenncomm what’s the highest tension you’d recommend with head velocity? I tried head lynx tour and was getting wrist pain at 53ib so I don’t think that string suits me very well. Appreciate your content!!
I just bought a new Vcore 100 2023 and I have tried it with Head Velocity at 50lbs and loved the feeling but the string is getting weared out easily. I also do own Head Lynx Tour. I want to go Hybrid with Velocity (17g) and Lynx Tour, can you please let me know how should I do it (which cross, which main?) and what tension? 4.5 here!
I’m trying to learn and your saying head mlt is a ploy? Or it goes well with a poly. You said use mlt poly in the crosses. I’m going to get my racket restrung and had tw set me up with duraflex syn gut and the strings don’t snap back in position very well. I strung at 52
Does tension massively effect the spin/power potential or is that more for fine tuning the control? I liked hyper G @ 54 lbs but wondering if I should also experiment with the same strings at lower tensions (48 lbs)?
I don't think there have been any studies that have found certain correlations between spin and tension, though I feel like i can get more spin with lower tensions. It could be in my head, hard to say since i cant measure RPMs. There is some evidence that you'll get more power (ball speed) but it seems too minor. I would recommend stringing as low as you can control, so definitely recommend trying 48lbs or even lower. I think you'll like this video on tension: ua-cam.com/video/1RbHBQ5sp_Q/v-deo.html
I love your videos! But I was thinking of getting a vcore 100 and I have no idea what strings to get, or even tension. I’m pretty decent and I try and play in the style of de menaur or ferrer. Any suggestions? It would help a lot.
Thanks for watching! Yeah VCORE 100 would be a great choice for counter punching, defensive baseline type of players. It was my fav spin racquet of 2023!
I feel like dynamic tension is important to think about. We give beginners a multifilament setup because the dynamic tension, pretty much how much force it takes to move the strings, is lower. I don't have a tool to get the exact dynamic tension but I've realized stringing a poly really low solves the problems that we have from "normal" tensions. TL;DR lower level players can either do multis or poly strung really low and that solves the comfort, power and feel problems that comes with polys. just string low
@@akbarberlian I string stiffer polys 16g around 37 and I still feel like I have control, I do this in a control racket. Wouldn’t recommend in a power racket for sure
Going to try for the first time a hybrid set up, Head velocity on cross and head lynx on mains, i currently use a full bed of hyber G poly, should I string the hybrid at a higher tension than what i currently use? or do i keep it the same? Thanks for any help!
Hi Beckett, what is your opinion on hybriding different gauges of the same string? Planning to use velocity 16 on the mains and 17 on the crosses. Your comments will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance
May be crazy but it works for me. I am a 3.5 and for the past several years have been using a blend combo of Genesis Tsumani for my mains and Head lynx in my crosses in my 2015 Head Radicals MP. Like the racquets and that string combo gives me the spin and the feel that I want and some power when I need it. Very comfortable and durable and arm friendly. It works!
@TennCom how is restring zero on the arm? and recommended tension to make it as arm friendly as possible without going crazy low. also you mention using a shaped poly at low tensions for arm friendliness, got any string names to try?
I am not the kind of person who ever had arm problems but I wouldn't say Zero is top tier for comfort. If you are used to Hyper-G, RPM Blast or ALU Power type strings, it will be more comfortable, but something like Hyper-G Soft, Polytour Pro or anything from Toroline will be more comfortable. The new Tru Pro string, Pure Rush is another one that I think is better.
@@TennCom appreciate that! I liked it so far. was surprised to see it being quite heavy, nearly 5g more than an alpha setup on my vcore 95; though I noticed alpha is light even compared with tour m8/sniper.
Man the worst gatekeeping is on high tension poly strings. "hurr if Tiafoe only plays with 4x lbs, why do you think you need more than 50??". what sense does that make
I think the Grapplesnake stuff plays better in the Blades. Zero and Toroline's stuff is quite muted. IMO the Blades play better with crisp, responsive poly's like Tour Sniper, M8 or Alpha for more spin. If you are firm on Toroline, I'd do Enso Pro grey or Toro Toro, as I think they both feel pretty connected. For ReString, I'd wait till next month to try their new string!
boss in the end you went too fast and it is confusing . please clarify if you can. as an intermediate we may not know all the names and you are jumping form one to the other quickly. thanks . your videos help us a lot . thanks
A bit off topic but when using a gut/poly hybrid set up, as we know poly needs replacing freaquently while gut lasts and holds tension much longer. So can you leave the gut in and just replace the poly two or three times before replacing the gut?
You can, but I'm not sure you should. It stressed the frame and the gut quite a bit to do all that weaving. If you are fine with that, then it'd be fine to just replace the poly. I personally wouldn't.
I’m going to try restring zero. Intermediate 3.50 playing with a pure strike. My question is what tension to string it? I have a pretty solid forehand with lots of top spin, medium, backhand and medium volleys. Comments please?
I ve been an avid tennis fanatic for 20 yrs. I play at least three times a week. I love tennis. I say this because my observations are this . . You ask any 5 so called experts on the best string and you'll get 5 different answers. It's different strokes for different folks. I think strings and racquets are dependent what one feels comfortable and most confident.
Hey, I recently tried out a Wilson k factor blade team 104. I really liked it compared to the pure aero 2019 I currently have and was wondering if there were similar rackets that would be easier to get since the kblade is so old
Blade 104 still exists in the V8 form. The V6 Blade would probably be a closer match though. Sadly there basically arent control oriented oversized racquets anymore. The Gravity MP sort of sits the bill because the head shape is so wide though.
If Triax is 50% poly 50% multi (or so I read in some reviews) is this similar to a hybrid set up? Therefore can you just keep these as a full bed and not consider hybrid if you want a nice basic power/control/spin balance? I’m a beginner btw.
id say the overall hitting experience is closer to a full bed of nylon, then the performance for spin and durability is decently close to a hybrid yes. I also saw Clay Thompson on Winston Du's channel is using it in a full bed at 39lbs!
Playing with this now and I love it. Really crisp for the amount of control and spin you get. Power is lower than most multis but in line with syn guts imo. Plays just like a syn gut with extra spin. Considering trying some other multis tho. Anything similar? How does triax compare?
Been following your channel since I started playing back in february. What are your thoughts on Hyper G Soft? I switched to full poly setup recently, switched to Hyper G Soft from Yonex syngut (dynawire) and I noticed it was way more comfortable and my hitting partner told me my balls were heavier. Honestly I had fear of trying polys because of the injuries it can cause, but I've been fine. P.S. I want to start my own stringing service at home, do you have any tips you can give me?
Not Beckett but I did play with Hyper G Soft for a year. An amazingly soft string and had no issues with injuries playing 3-5 times a week. Only switched cause that green looks UGLY on my pure aero 😂. Currently use Yonex Poly Tour Rev.
i havent tried HG Soft yet but will soon. For at home stringing, make sure you are a pro with your own sticks before accepting client work but other wise its pretty straight forward
Have you ever tried Weiss Cannon ultra cable? I reviewed the information on Tennis warehouse which indicates that it has a spin potential of 11.9 that seems to be the highest of any string they tested. I cannot find any information about the spin potential for the strings that you are recommending: Restring Zero and Torline Wasabi.
I have. The control and tension maintenance are both below Zero and Wasabi, though the ball bite is better than both. The sharp corners on UC, which are key to that "spin potential" rating, also create a wild response at high swingspeeds. Zero has a wild side for sure but Wasabi is much more predictable.
Hey Beckett, is there a string similar to poly tour pro that lasts longer? Or would a hybrid with MLT help it maintain playability for longer? I find it to get a little loose after 4 matches. Was also using lynx and same issue.
Try Toroline Caviar. Very similar feel to PTP but shaped and the tension should hold longer.

I use msv focus hex and xone biphase at 43lbs on my pro staff 97 (315gr). This was suggested by a rather experienced stringer and I’m happy with it! But you might have explained why it was feeling very dead while hitting slow balls and hitting long on faster balls. Out of curiosity, what is your thoughts on this setup? Thanks :)
I think that sounds like an epic setup. COuld be interesting to see what you like better, poly mains or poly crosses.

I love the setup as well! At the moment, I’ve got poly mains. Haven’t tried other way around. Next time I’ll mention it to my stringer and see what he says. Though he was telling me that finding xone is getting harder and more expensive (we’re in the UK). So might have a slightly different setup next time

Love your videos! I normally use Tecnifibre’s poly 1.20 in Pure Aero 98 and break a main string pretty fast. I decided to try a hybrid: Hyper-g soft 1.20 main, velocity (17) cross. And I can’t break them. I thought poly gives more durability in terms of breaking strings, but it seems like my hybrid is even more durable. Any thought why?
Im deciding between ezone 98,pure aero 98, and vcore 98. Which one is best for a aggresive baseliner that hits with spin but still wants feel and maneuverability?
probably the EZONE 98. I think the Aero might be better for the style in general, but the maneuverability isnt great at 330SW. The EZONE is way faster feeling.
Yo what about Wasabi Pro Hybrid? I’m running restring in one racquet and the wasabi pro hybrid in the other. I feel more snap back or pop from the hybrid.
Have you ever consider that your injury came mainly from your new frame? I ve sold all my stiff rackets and i m ok the last few months. The most painfull was to sell my ezpne100 (we had a lot of discission) for a vcore 100 that i m striggling to learn. But with this and tecnifibre iso 305 i can use any string with no pain as i had problems with ezone ,aeros and many other frames with the 3-4 same strings i use.
im going to make a video about my elbow problem, i dont think its related to the frame, but i do think its related to one of the products i tested, but not for stiffness reasons
Hi, Beckett! Thanks a lot for all your videos! So much useful information! Currently playing with ezone 98 last gen. Love it for the dence string pattern and 320 SW. I can swing it very fast with lots of spin. Forehand just super nice! My concern is the serve. There is no feel in this racket. Kick isn't stable at all. I played Radical Mp auxetic. Serve and feel were great, volleys awesome, but 330 SW (quality control sucks) was very high for me. Can u suggest a racket wich can meet both worlds for me? (easy to swing and good feel) Thanks!

With 10grams in the butt cap And 8.5 grams at the head in the 12 o clock position With a leather grip Strings-Hyper g 1.25mm/16L gauge strung at 55lbs I play close to an 11.5-13 UTR level and I have an all courter gamestyle with super spinny and heavy ground strokes with Huge flat and kick serves... I don't really have the option to demo rackets here in India so would really like to know which racket would suit my style more... the vcore 95 2023 or the 98 2023? I would really appreciate if you could help me out with this 🙏🏽 Keep the good work... been a fan of your content since months 👌🏽👍🏽 Everyone's suggestions are welcomed 🙂
I don't think you'll have any control issues with the 98 given that you are using the 95. At that level, i think you could be trying to use the most powerful racquet you can control to get the edge. If the 98 can work for Tommy Paul I think it can work for you too!
I noticed when you were discussing good syn gut manufacturers you left Gamma off the list. Was that intentional? I often use Gamma Syn w duraflex out of default.

Can you recommend me something pls? I use the EZONE 98
I'm about to string my new radical MP for the first time. I just don't know what string to pick and at what tension. I had some arm problems before (not because of tennis) picking up tennis again 2 years ago. I started with the clash v2 with multi strings. I've since then owned the yonex ezone 98 and the wilson blade 100 v8. Anyhow no problem with my arm, a little with my wrist (under cotrol for the time being). So I'm looking for some comfort. The problem with a lot of the comfort strings like multifillament, is that I get a lot of added power in comparison to most polys. My topspin isn't the best so I can't control too much power like I'd want to. What would be a good set up for the Radical MP? Some comfort but less power. I do like the feel of a string that has some bite to it. I've played some when I was younger, so I'm not a beginner. An intermediate player. Thank for all the great work!
If you want to go for a poly, I would try something shaped at a very low tension like 40lbs. Something like Toroline Wasabi or Hyper-G Soft will give you a relatively comfortable feel and the amount of ball pocketing you'll get might help you feel the ball on the strings more to help you understand how to create spin. If you wanna stay with a flat hitter's setup, a full bed of Triax would play awesome in that racquet at 50lbs.
No. I'm going to be doing a nylon hybrid series of videos soon, but I still cant really play due to my elbow thing which seems to be some sort of simultaneous golfers/tennis elbow things. Its not really the impact shock thats doing me in but the windshield wiper-like motion on my forearm.
How do you think about: 1. Razor Code? Plush and pocketing but the launch angle is so low 2. TB/Vanquish hybrid prepackaged? Will it give good snapbacks like Zero hybrid? Imo TB plays a bit boardlike
1. Haven't tried it yet. 2. No snapback isn't great with that hybrid. The best I tried was Wasabi X crosses and Solinco X Natural mains for snapback with a multifilamnet hybrid.
Ok so I currently use the head lynx tour at 54 and I really like it but what I also felt it when you said intermediate players will suffer from the lower forgiveness of a poly. So I was wondering, what is a multifilament or hybrid setup that can mimic or be similar to a full bed of Head Lynx tour but with the extra forgiveness, that way I don’t sacrifice much on spin and benefit from said forgiveness of the spin. Thank you for this video by the way, I feel like this was made for me 😭😭😭
@@TennCom really?? wouldn’t that just make my balls fly out more often since it’d increase my power. I also want to try out restring zero since you’ve been talking about it a lot.

"Best string" is always relative to what frame and player preference.
Solinco tour bite 1,25 the best!!! And weisscannon ultra cable 1,23 ❤️
just the video I needed niceee
For real

Was afraid restring was just a meme a few months ago. Its pretty legit though. Not my favorite poly but real close. Spin and snapback are nutty.
it kind of is a meme in terms of how good it is
I hybrid Restring Zero with Ghostwire and love it in my HEAD Satellite Tour at 57/53.
Good video, I like that you recommended a few steps of string exploration based on how people evolve as tennis players, rather than one size fits all recommendations.
Seriously guys if you have questions, ask in the comments, this guy will answer you!
Setups that I've tried (All with ezone 100 2022 version)
Full Velocity MLT 16 @ 55 - Power is good, touch is good, feel is too muted
Full Hyper G 16 @ 46 - So dead unless I swing for the fences, great spin
Full Yonex Rexis Comfort 16 @ 58 - Power is too high, control is too low
Full Diadem Solstace Power 16 @ 47 -Power is not the best, super muted feel, good spin
Full OGSM 17 @ 55 - Good power, nice crispy feel, spin potential too low
Full Gosen AK Pro CX 17 @ 55 - Power is okay, not too muted, great spin for multi
Full Yonex Poly Tour Pro 18 @ 47 - Good spin and snapback, decent but not great power
Have tried all sorts of hybrids as well with the result that it ends up just feeling the same as what the mains feel like. Crossing with a more powerful string doesn't seem to boost the power of the polys enough. Crossing with a stiffer string like syn gut still doesn't change the feel of muted strings.
Currently the best feeling and playing setup I found was AK Pro CX 17 @ 55 mains, Rexis Comfort 16 @ 53 crosses
Any suggestions for more powerful or lively polys to try?
@@mindango4092 I think you'll probably prefer nylon mains
Most players around here use either full poly or full multi/synthetic gut. I'm the only one that I know of who uses a multi in the mains, poly crosses.
Super helpful video, thanks for posting!!
thanks for watching!
Zyex 17g from Klipper! Good stuff in a full bed strung tight or in blend with poly
Good video (other than the Gamma syn gut omission)! Agree that most intermediates should be using a good syn gut or multi (below average 4.0s and below in my opinion)
Great idea to pick this headline. Would be intressting to know what you will think of a great intermidiate solution. The Solinco Tour bite & Vanchish hybrid set.
excellent choice
Hello, coach. I’m intermediate leverl to upper intermediate. I use pro staff 97 V13 315 gr. I use tour bite string. Wich tension do you recommend me to play at the best performance. Because i alwyas try many tension. From 57,56,55,54,53 and now Main 52 with cross 50. Is it good if i string it with tension under 50 ? Like main 49, cross 48/47 ?
I personally would string that racquet at 47lbs to start. Rule of thumb is to string as low as you can control.

I just came across you channel and it’s been such a live saver and I was wondering if you had some advice for me:
I just got into tennis 6 months ago and have been playing pretty regularly with the hopes to continue improving my game as I’m getting really invested haha.
What do tou think some recommendations?
thanks! I would just drop the tension by a kilo or so
I really like that bite on the ball and tons of spin...i right now i prefer Voikl torque...and other string out there with more bite?
Most bite I've tried is YTEX Square-X Sharp. I didn't love the playability though and I think Grapplesnake Game Changer gets 95% of the way there in terms of bite (2nd sharpest I've tried, more that Ultra Cable) and plays better with more control and feel.
Hi Tenncomm what’s the highest tension you’d recommend with head velocity? I tried head lynx tour and was getting wrist pain at 53ib so I don’t think that string suits me very well.

The Head Velocity MLT is a multifilament nylon string, not a poly. It plays nicely when hybrided with a poly.
Great Video. Thanks.
What do you think of Tecnifibre Black Code? for a Tecnifibre 298 Iga.
Thanks
still have not tried
Would having a hybrid set-up (synth gut and poly) be good for an intermediate player?
Hi, just wanted to ask which color is best for velocity MLT? Natural or Black? Thanks
Black is noticeably more slippery which helps with spin
What is the best string and tension for my Gamma Big Bubba??????
I feel like dynamic tension is important to think about. We give beginners a multifilament setup because the dynamic tension, pretty much how much force it takes to move the strings, is lower. I don't have a tool to get the exact dynamic tension but I've realized stringing a poly really low solves the problems that we have from "normal" tensions.
TL;DR
lower level players can either do multis or poly strung really low and that solves the comfort, power and feel problems that comes with polys. just string low
How low is your low
@@akbarberliani think 35 lbs is the lowest than one could go with poly to still have some control

I'd go for ReString Zero 1.23 to get a little extra lift on the ball
What string would you recommend for Wilson blade 98 16x19? Thinking of trying Toroline wasabi pro hybrid or restring zero
Hey man greetings, what do you think about re string zero or grapple snake tour snipe?

I’m going to try restring zero. Intermediate 3.50 playing with a pure strike. My question is what tension to string it? I have a pretty solid forehand with lots of top spin, medium, backhand and medium volleys. Comments please?
If you use poly, I recommend using your normal tension. If you use multi, drop tension by 3lbs. If you don't have a baseline start at 50lbs for this.
Love this video. I think you got it 100% right.
I ve been an avid tennis fanatic for 20 yrs. I play at least three times a week. I love tennis. I say this because my observations are this . . You ask any 5 so called experts on the best string and you'll get 5 different answers. It's different strokes for different folks. I think strings and racquets are dependent what one feels comfortable and most confident.
best string for x purpose is nothing more than a starting point
Best multi is Gosen’s AK CX Pro, crisp most durable last 10x or more xompared to biphase.
Playing with this now and I love it. Really crisp for the amount of control and spin you get. Power is lower than most multis but in line with syn guts imo. Plays just like a syn gut with extra spin. Considering trying some other multis tho. Anything similar? How does triax compare?
AK Pro CX is a syn gut, Triax is much better

Aloha Beckett, Great content! 👍Solid advice for the avid tennis player - Intermediate and beyond! 👍👍

Thanks :)
Focus hex is very stiff poly, i prefer FH soft. But since you got it with biphase, I guess it kinda works that way too
I think that sounds like an epic setup. COuld be interesting to see what you like better, poly mains or poly crosses.
I love the setup as well!
At the moment, I’ve got poly mains. Haven’t tried other way around. Next time I’ll mention it to my stringer and see what he says.

I don't think you'll have any control issues with the 98 given that you are using the 95. At that level, i think you could be trying to use the most powerful racquet you can control to get the edge. If the 98 can work for Tommy Paul I think it can work for you too!

I’m using multi 52lb on mains and poly 50lb on crosses and I found myself some times inconsistent to put the ball on the court and also like you said sometimes the ball dies, I run like a demon every time I play so putting the ball on the court is what I want. Can you recommend me something pls? I use the EZONE 98
sounds like a pretty consistent setup, do you string frequently enough?
lower tension for a 98. syn gut mains 16g @ 48 Poly cross 18 @ 45
@@TennCom at the start they were but I play three times a week and I haven’t strung since July
Never tried nylon… maybe we should 👀
Have you migrated over to hybrid?
No. I'm going to be doing a nylon hybrid series of videos soon, but I still cant really play due to my elbow thing which seems to be some sort of simultaneous golfers/tennis elbow things. Its not really the impact shock thats doing me in but the windshield wiper-like motion on my forearm.
How do you think about:
1. Razor Code? Plush and pocketing but the launch angle is so low
Next talk to me about string gauge/thickness, BECKETT DADDY!
Thank you for this video by the way, I feel like this was made for me 😭😭😭
I think your best bet is probably dropping the tension to like 45lbs if not venturing a little lower.
@@TennCom really?? wouldn’t that just make my balls fly out more often since it’d increase my power. I also want to try out restring zero since you’ve been talking about it a lot.
@@TennCom Do you believe dropping tension increases the energy transfer or just increases the launch angle and therefore depth? My experiences seem to lean towards the latter
I really like this video, it is good info for all of us. Me myself finaly found my racquet Prince 100x 16x18. The string I use now is the solinco hyper g soft. I kind of like it. But I am really looking for a pink string. A soft round polly. Thank you for the vids
Toroline Wasabi is avail in pink but its square shaped with round corners
@@TennCom thank you for the update. I will look into it. I also forgot to Menton that I am based in the Netherlands in Europa.
I remember that you also liked the toroline rounded soft polly?
What’s the best string for pickleball?
g-string
Has anyone told you you look a lil like Ben Shelton? I love ur videos btw! 😎
surprisingly yes, immense compliment
They are all good strings. Use whatever and learn to move ones feet first. Strings are 2-5% of equation
where is grapplesnake M8?
tbh i forgot about it for this video, but it is a great option at this level, especially when strung ultra low (40lbs)
