    Dang that Gravity is way lower spec than my demos. Mine feels a bit too hefty so it's nice to think Rublev might feel the same way about the one's I got. Time to work on my BWEH

    I used a Head Ti. Fire for 20 years.
    It was 363 g as well, but with a way smaller head size. And maybe more head heavy as well, but 100% stock.
    Strung like a brick at 29 kg.
    And the result was...
    ...well, just hit as hard as I possibly could. Worked in the early days, not so well at the end.

    Beckett, for all the fury in Rubalev's forehand (it abounds) there's a quality I find rarer than hen's teeth in today's game. Humility of other competitors and genuine respect for the game. I don't know this for a fact but I highly* suspect one of Rubalev's heroes is Nikolai Davadenko. The ferocity and reflex similarities are uncanny.
    You're just the first guy I've seen use copper over lead for stability in the head, do you recommend it? Get your meat hooks on a small tub of Tungsten Putty. I trust it will serve you well in your tuning of the butt cap. (more leverage, being more concentrated weight than a drill bit) 🤭.
    Very impressed at how you arrived at your data, bewildering TBH 👏👏

    Easy way to put this much weight in the handle is to get one grip size smaller and put a heat shrink sleeve. It puts about 16g extra

    What did you dislike about Lynx Tour? I have a set sitting around for the next time I need to string.

    • @TennCom
      @TennCom  Рік тому +3

      I wasn't getting a consistent launch with it. Its also heavier than most other 1.25mm strings which I find off-putting, though I can see how this could be a strength for some. Snapback felt poor when I didn't take big cuts which suggests the string is better for players who hit with greater intensity than me. I don't think its a bad string. There's a reason tour level players have started using it. But I'm not a tour level player.

    I heard rublev's rpms on the ball are the highest on tour, above rafa too

    • @TennCom
      @TennCom  Рік тому +1

      I have not seen charts where he's close to the top. His ball trajectory is regularly quite low. The guys I've seen around 3500rpm (Rafa level) are Ruud, Berrettini, Thiem and Draper. I'm sure Rublev has had his days on big spin, but he doesn't seem to do it all the time.

    • @sjjapp
      @sjjapp Рік тому +1

      Not from data I've seen. The top average rpms on forehand seem to consistently be Rafa, Berrettini, Ruud, and so on. Backhand tends to be dominated by single handers with the odd double amongst the top like Sinner and Ruud.
      And since rackets are part of the topic, the top spin guys tend to use spin specialised frames as well. Thiem would kind of go against that but his setup is highly polarised and there's a lot of acceleration in his technique so his setup is actually very spin friendly as an end result.

    You built a Frankenstein stick. I cringed watching you add a bit into the handle. Instead, bend those staples down and out of the way (Tap them down with a hammer and screwdriver) and then simply fill the handle with Tac. This will yield a much better outcome and can be easily removed or changed as needed.

    I can tell you how to use silicone in the handle without using a tube of silicone and getting messy... Go down to your drugstore and get Macs silicone ear plugs... They come in a package of eight... Take each one out and roll it out in a long cylindrical fashion and quickly insert each one it in the handle... It will then expand out against the handle but it's not wet or gooey... I rolled four of these out into my PA 98....voila!... No mess no fuss.

Is it worth replacing my crank out machine with this?... Are there any other competitors.?
