    i would LOVE to see you talking more about sisterhood. i have an older sister and i've just always felt like i try so hard to be more than just sisters and get to the point where we're friends but i also feel like we wouldn't even get along if we weren't sisters cause we're SO different. maybe i've always been obsessed with this cause younger sisters always crave approval. but i would love to see you dive more into this topic, its so interesting and complex and complicated.
    also: that turtleneck looks so good on you!

    Also really glad I'm back to uni, even with all my 8 AM classes (4 out of 5 days), it gets more structure back into my day, I don't think about if I should wash my hair for days anymore, I just know I need clean hair and so I wash it. Sounds so simple, but it makes my life easier.

    Feel you so much on the routine thing, I simply can't go to sleep when I haven't brushed my teeth, I can't be tired enough to not do it.
    Also, I need to go to the toilet right before turning off the light, and I procrastinate going to the toilet cause I'm too lazy to go there and so I can't sleep till I've done it, even when I don't really need to go to the toilet.

    I really enjoy the shift of this channel. Prior to now, it has been all about this rushed and stressed Katherine that lives from stress explosion to the next stress explosion. Deadline by deadline. And now its the new Katherout, that's tired of this bullshit and doesn't keep up with it anymore and lives a happier and fulfilled, laid back zen lifestyle with her friends and family. Love it!

    Thank you for this series Katherine!! I see so much of myself in your thoughts about routine, relationships with family, trying new things, etc. I’m a recent college grad in my first big girl job working from home while living back at my parents’ house, and looking forward to moving to my own place in a new city hopefully in the spring!

    It took me all the way to moving to America from India to be able to see my parents as people and repair my relationship with them. I think this is something not a lot of people talk about. No matter how much you care about someone or respect them as an individual, being in the same house is just not always good for you. And that’s okay. Alsooooo yessssss totally on that Kalel train *chefs kiss* . What a great video 🙂, thank you for sharing!

    Self-care for me is more about doing the things I really don't want to do out of laziness but I know I'll feel better after like a walk or eating at home instead of eating out or going to the dentist. Also, keeping boundaries is a form of self-care because you are protecting your future self from being overwhelmed and burnt out.

    • @EmmaB_MD
      @EmmaB_MD 2 роки тому

    Did you know you could get a pack of microfiber cloths and use them with plain water and your makeup will come right off? Even waterproof mascara. It’s like a magic eraser for your face. You’ll never have to use or buy wipes again and it won’t irritate your face because its just water. Game changer.

    Late to watching this but would LOOOVE love love to see you talk more about that quality of life and feeling at home in diff cities topic - In the last three years, I moved from NYC to SF and back to NYC and I'm still really torn over how to value the city where all my friends live and thrive vs smaller cities that are closer to nature like the PNW (I visited a few times in the past few years and absolutely fell in love with it but have no friends or family or other familiarity with it and I totally recognize that visiting a place is so different from living in that place but its not often I totally fall in love with a city from visiting). Also moving cross country isn't cheap or easy by any means and I just love your perspective and wanna hear more. More oversharing, always!! :) Thanks for being so vulnerable too!

    I was really grateful for your beginning part about how your routines fell apart and it caused you to fall apart (or… you shared the same uncertainty I do as to which came first or what exactly happened). My job has kept me on with 0 work for a year (I know that sounds insane - I guess it is!!) and I am a different person. I don’t recognize myself lol. I don’t use my planner and I have horrible habits. I finally realized I should stop waiting for the situation to change, even if abruptly going back to the “hustle” is going to be painful.

    Love your evaluation of quality of life. NYC I loved because I would get out of the subway and be accosted by art, crafts, fresh veg, even meditators and reiki guys. Granted, would love for it to smell better and be a little less loud. (screeches of the train, agh!) But now I get the ocean, the breeze, a bit of trees. Not to the extent of Central Park tho.

    I'm barely into this video but I feel compelled to leave a comment regarding the use of face wipes. I highly suggest ditching them, they really don't have any value in a skincare routine; they don't really remove the makeup, they clearly irritate your skin (it was going red) and they're not very good for the environment. A double cleanse with some kind of cleansing balm/oil followed by a gel or cream cleanser will change your skincare life. There are loads of options out there, it's just a matter of finding the right one for you.
    I just watched a little bit more and you were talking about curology and I don't know much about them but perhaps they have some products that would allow for a double cleanse.
