I have being making my own butters now for 15 years and I love it . I can’t see myself using commercial drug store bought products as they are full of chemicals . Face and body butters are the best. PRAISE GOD. For his natural creation . In JESUS MIGHTY NAME AMEN 😊🙏🕊🩸
Check out Soaper's Choice for your ingredients also organic, way less expensive since you're cutting out the third middle man. Their products are great quality organic raw unrefined. I hope this helps.
I noticed you recommend Soper’s choice. I went online to check it out and their prices are pretty darn cheap. Can you tell me about the quality of these products?
I just found your channel love your recipe. I’ve been making lotions for a long time now I will try your recipe. I’d like to say that when I do mine, I whip it in my standmixer and it comes out so fluffy so amazing. I don’t know if you’ve tried this, but it sure looks and feels fluffy and soft!
Thank you so much for making this video!! I will be making this! Where did you get the a jar from? And could I use a hand inversion mixer since I don’t have a hand mixer?
Thanks for watching! The jar actually came from our local Dollar Tree. I'm honestly not so sure the inversion hand mixer would work too well, although it's worth a try. Simply using a metal serving spoon should also be a good alternative. Hope this helps!
Hi! Idk that this would be perfect, but what I would recommend is replacing the cocoa butter and shea butter with mango butter and then adding some mango extract. Mango butter actually doesn't smell like mango but it would provide a good neutral base scent that would allow the mango extract to fit in perfectly. The texture of the body butter would be different than ours so you might have to play with it a bit. Hope that helps and let us know how it goes!
Hello! Since all the ingredients in this are anhydrous (contain no water), it doesn't need any preservatives and should last up to 1-2 years at least. Just avoid getting any water in the butter. Storing at room temperature is perfect. Keeping it away from heat and light will help extend its shelf life as well.
Hi! If you have access to arrowroot powder, you can use it as a 1:1 substitute for tapioca starch. If cornstarch is your only option, it should work as well, though it might not be an exact 1:1 replacement but I think it will be just fine
Great question! Since all the ingredients are either oil-based or anhydrous (doesn't contain water) the body butter does not need a preservative. Just be sure you don't introduce a lot of moisture like putting wet hands into the butter or something like that.
@@nikita5919 Great question! Glycerin isn’t water-based but is water-soluble and acts as a humectant, drawing in moisture to hydrate the skin. As long as you don’t introduce water (like wet hands) into the container it won’t spoil, though it’s fine once it’s on your skin. Honestly, a little water in the jar shouldn’t hurt, but it’s best practice to avoid it. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for pointing that out!
Hi Madeline! We use tapioca starch for a few reasons: - Reduces the greasiness of the body butter - Helps absorb excess oil on the skin - Acts as a kind of thickener and gives the body butter a more silk, smooth consistency - You could substitute this with arrowroot powder or cornstarch which many people use but Tapioca starch was pretty cheap to get compared to arrowroot powder and we found in our research that it was much less likely to clog pores compared to cornstarch Hope that helps!
Hi Diane! The cocoa butter smell is what gives the butter its strong chocolate scent. It dominates the smell of the butter so you really don't smell the shea butter much. You can always try refined shea butter which has an even milder scent than regular shea butter. Or you can replace the shea butter with mango butter. Mango butter is a bit firmer than shea butter (but less firm than cocoa butter) so you might have to reduce the amount of cocoa butter and up the mango butter a bit to try to get the same consistency. Hope that helps!
This is enough to make a total of 56oz as buying all the ingredients will give you enough to make the recipe twice. Following the recipe will yield you roughly 28 oz. Let us know how it goes! 😊

Hi Sylvia! Unfortunately I don't have a stand mixer but when I get one I will sure be trying that on our next batch. Thanks for the tip!

Awesomeness! I would like to have a mango scent when I try my hand at this with your recipe. What would you recommend?
