I have just realised, even after having watched this video, that I have been wearing my glasses, with progressive, brown, Zeiss Adaptive Sun lenses, in the house for the past two hours or so. Yes, of course, everything is lighter now that I have changed to my clear lenses, but I was able to see clearly before I did so. My transition from a bright sunny day outside to inside was barely perceptible - evidently - but the AS lenses certainly make being outside a lot more comfortable.
I was disappointed that we don't get Adaptive Sun in the US. But Robert was able to get these done for me. A few quick emails, and I was able to get my sunglasses done with all the bells and whistles. Thanks again to Robert and his team. I may have asked a lot of stupid questions but they never once made feel like an idiot and answered them all very informatively. I went with the SmartLife Individual 1.6 Adaptive Sun in Polarized Gray with the Duravision Flash Diamond coating.
They did the same for me. Sent my Oliver Peoples frames to them and got back an awesome pair of glasses. Get comments on them all the time. Good job TSF crew!
thank you! you wouldn't believe how hard it is to find real life images of these lenses (as opposed to photoshopped marketing images), and my local zeiss stockists don't carry samples. extremely helpful 🤝
I am excited as recently depensed some of these lenses. I feel like the patients are going to be so happy with them. Thanks going into so much detail. It makes me feel so much more confident when advising. 😻 X

Another great video with lots of useful information! You mentioned using it for driving, does adaptivesun darken in car as well? I currently have photofusion and that’s the biggest problem I have. PS: can you do another video to show the difference between smartlife, clear view and drivesafe in real life. In the past video, you mentioned they are the made differently, but always wonder how they impact the vision in real life.
Thanks for the informative video! Just a quick question, does Zeiss offer lighter base tint (say 40%) with photofusion technology? I am afraid that the solid 60% tint might be too dark for indoor. Thank you.
Great video as always! What is you opinion on a Zeiss drive safe lens Individual with Photofusion X Extra Grey + Blue Flash mirror, Duravision platinum coating? Will that be a great daily pair for night & day driving and other activities?
Love the channel. I'm sure that just like any photochromic, these won't get as dark in hot climates. Temps where I live range from -35 to +35. Don't get me wrong, they're as good as any of the other top-tier photochromic lenses on the market, but they all get rather meh in hot climates and fade back in cold weather is dismally slow
Here in the US, the Zeiss lab said they don't offer Adaptive Sun. Something about not FDA approved. However, they can pair Photofusion X with a permanent gradient tint (75/25) for almost the same end result. And you can do a flash coating as well.
You can order from us if you like and we can ship it to you at no extra cost! Email us at hello@thespectaclefactory.com and one of our team will be in touch😁 -Haleemah
Your videos are very informative and I am very grateful! I am an older adult and me and my husband are looking at purchasing new eyeglasses this week. I’ve had Maui Jim sunglasses for years and I absolutely LOVE them. Can I purchase Reykjavík eyeglasses and Zeiss adaptive in the US? Thank you~~

Great video I do have a question tho I recently got Cartier glasses in prescription and they have transition lenses is it possible to get them in purple or any other colours and would I still be able to get my name engraved on them with diamond cuts? Edit:I am also wondering what type of sun treatments I would have available for the lenses because I need to protect my eyes from uv
Hi Robert, your videos made me discover the incredible asthetics of glasses to which I was ignorant all this years. Concernig the Zeiss AdaptiveSun gradient tint: since a bit sensitive to artificial light I plan to to get those AdaptiveSun gradients built into my regular everday frames which I plan to wear in the office. Is the gradient tint recommendable to wear indoors and what particular colour would you go with for computer work mostly?
Thanks a lot for this great video. Did not get if the braun glasses are gradiant or solid Adaptive Sun (in the video it looks gradiant). Thanks in advance for your answer.
Cannot wait to get my hand on the Reykjavik Eyes pair with adaptive Sun lenses!! What are the chances of you travelling to India to have it delivered ( like I saw you did with some other clients) ? 😊
I love your channel. Maybe it seems easy to make such videos, but I know what investment of time and energy it takes. Really high quality! same as the stuff you present. I wished you had a store in Europe

Hi can you do a video on DITA glasses/sunglasses?….i plan to but DITA glasses, but I don’t know if they good or not, or should i buy Cartier or Chopard.
Would putting a bronze mirror (not flash) on the brown lenses tone down the warmth a bit? Make them a bit more cool while keeping the awesome contrast? I have a brown polarized pair for about 2 years and absolutely love them, but I'd like to take the warmth from the brown tint a tad lower.
Thanks for the information. However as many brand photochromic lenses I have tried they do not darken as much in outside sunlight...not even 20%. They are good only when exposed to UV light torch. Is this something to do with operating temperature of the lenses? I live in climate conditions which are over 40deg Cel during summer. In your videos the lenses look to darken so high
Hi Robert, thanks for another great video. I was wondering, would it be possible to have a gradient green base tint (max 25%) and add photofusion x green on it? And if so, how could that compare to adaptive sun green gradient? Thinking about the versatility indoors and outdoors...
I like brown...I have a pair of ray ban aviators from back in the day when Ray ban was made by bauch and lomb....somehow they've survived a few scratches on the lenses...but I've had many pair of sunglasses..(Smith.. vaurnet..nikon..many ray ban..persol etc) most were damaged to unwearable. But the aviators are the most used. I also have a pair of Oakley wrap around for severe sun days..I work outside...and an extra pair of rayban's with fuse lenses (in case) Of course at 67 last I bought sunglasses was 10 years ago
@@thespectaclefactory at first, I must set the meeting with my ophthalmologist… then I will probably contact you. btw, huge thanks for your work regarding to eyewears.

Wish Zeiss made adaptive Sun in purple with a purple flash coat!
Hii....new subscriber....which color tint eye glasses u recommend for someone with myopia ?
Those green rimmed gray lens glasses you have look fantastic! What base curve did you use? It suits the frame well
Do you think adaptive sun would match reykyavik eyes elias frame? I do not see rectangular sunglasses do often.
Thanks a lot for this great video. Did not get if the braun glasses are gradiant or solid Adaptive Sun (in the video it looks gradiant). Thanks in advance for your answer.
Gradient 😁
I wish the descriptions had included model numbers of the glasses you're wearing for all the videos

Yes, many photochromci lenses are temperature sensitive. Adaptive Sun works really well in hot weather, in my experience
Do these really get anywhere close to 97% dark on a warm or hot sunny day?
I’m obviously not able to measure it myself, but mine do get considerably darker with high UV so I’d guess it’s getting to the 97%!
Hi Robert, thanks for another great video. I was wondering, would it be possible to have a gradient green base tint (max 25%) and add photofusion x green on it? And if so, how could that compare to adaptive sun green gradient? Thinking about the versatility indoors and outdoors...
No, Adaptive Sun are pre-set tints. But you could do this with Transitions technology on a non-Zeiss lens

How long the Duravision Sun treatment coating lasts on these lenses? Can the glasses be re-treated after few months with the duravision treatment ?
Hi, can you recommend which color lens and coating is best for motorcycle riding with a dark tinted helmet on at the same time good for driving daily

How does it compare to Essilor's Transitions?
Bro, which is the best tint for indoor use if most of the time is spend on laptop and mobile?

What’s the base percent tint indoor of the blue one?
New photofusion have a very beutifull tint❤
the grey lenses at the beginning look like they are under tension. The reflections look kinda off

CAN it
change inside the car .
Yes, it changes a little inside the car
Do they activate behind a windscreen?
Slightly, but they are just about the right level for driving anyway
Nobody here is talking about using these on powered spectacles. The tint reduces a great deal?
No, they would look and perform exactly the same in prescription
