Most trans people are Whte
77% of trans people in America are Whte and come from upper income households. Must be nice.
Literally 100%
Sure, but this one actually looks like a psyop within a psyop.
Real conspiracies suck. They're lame and just hinge on being shitty, it's never anything clever or even vaguely exciting. Just being so shitty people don't take you seriously, until they realise you're serious
Seems like a good tactic tbh. Make it so boring that no one listens when someone brings it up
Why do you think there's no effort to suppress stuff about flat earth, or fake moon landing bullshit? Authorities are more than happy to let stuff like that get fresh air, because it distracts from real conspiracies.
Palestinians don't fly rainbow flags like Israel and corporations do lmao
Eh they can be exciting, like MKULTRA and literally anything associated with it and government mind control programs. But yes, active measures is generally very boring.

The response of a couple of chatters saying that China and Russia did similar things, reminds me of Michael Brooks in an interview, speaking in a totally different context but still applicable here because of the principle. He was talking about Israel-Palestine, and got the usual response of how immoral Arabs are, that they would throw gay people off buildings if they could etc, the usual thing. I'm paraphrasing, but his response was along the lines of, 'If Israel are saying that they are the vanguard of democracy and progress in the Middle East, they are asking to be judged to a higher standard. So I am judging them to a higher standard'.
The exact same dynamic applies here. The US constantly frames its influence over the globe not as a function of their raw power, but more as a right of their profound morality. If you are larping as the light on the hill for the entire planet, you cannot respond to accusations of evil by pointing to regimes you regularly paint as pure evil and say 'But they did the exact same thing'. Your entire platform is based on the idea that you supposedly do better than other states.
The Philippines was the first country outside of China to have a confirmed case of Coronavirus. A lot of people suffered. The government response was already lacking, what we absolutely did not need was US interference in our vaccination efforts. My country simply cannot catch a break. This honestly sucks.

At least you don’t live in the nation that had the far-right sociopaths that thought it would be a good idea to do it to you guys. You guys are the victims. We are the god damn monsters that did it to you. It is not a very good feeling to know people suffered because of the arrogance of powerful people from your nation.

If our democracy was potent enough on a structural level that our government was a mechanism for serving the will of the people and not for serving it's own power, things like this wouldn't happen.
The modern nation state is amoral in its decision making and ruthlessly self interested at all times.
Not serving its own power and political interest would go against what every political actor that will ever exist would want. This is the nature of great powers, international politics, and politics in general despite what many people want to think otherwise due to a moral implication that democracy is something more than a mechanism of public decision-making. States just aren't people as they can't be emotional or have ethical systems to make moral decisions; using morality in this and all cases of states is useless when talking about political structures and state interactions. The thing states care about is influence no matter if what they do is seen under the lens of political morality by the public.
It is a failure of the public and the average voter to have clandestine operations occur and not be known for three years after it was terminated.
@ice9055 no, a more potent democracy would mean serving the interests of the people as opposed to the state having interests unto itself, separate from those of the people.
You place the blame for what the government does on the populace despite them being the disempowered party in that equation. The democratic impotence im talking about is exactly why the people are unable to hold the state accountable.
The problem is structural, which should be unsurprising to a leftist.
@ice9055 making democracy more potent means making the state's interests and the people's interests one and the same, rather than the state having interests unto itself. The democratic impotence im talking about is the reason they can't hold the state accountable.
It’s a result of the paradigm of money. People need money to have food and shelter, but money also promises to allow people to live life to its fullest by freeing them from 9 to 5 work and allowing them to travel, afford incredible experiences, etc…basically, whoever has the money calls the shots, because they have the power to save you from drowning. Politicians and representatives are human too, and they want to be saved from drowning too. Even the best of us can be bought, if the price is right.
@@magnus_cockstrong It's well known in political sociology that even in the most pluralistic society - neo-pluralism, in this case - the state will have different interests than the public sphere and that corporations will have different interests than both. In the types of states we've experienced with multi-ethnic, the traditional nation-state, empires, city-states, or confederacy the states' interests will prevail as they're a distinct class in all of these settings and will likely continue if we replace the nation-state with something new. Democracy concerning foreign policy is, thankfully, worthless and likely won't change anything unless there's a complete restriction. In this context, the best democracy will do will make the state and government think more about their next actions due to a watchdog function the public will have rather than make their interests aligned with each other.
The US: Why are people so hesitant I work with us all of a sudden

And Turkey is not that conservative among muslim countries. I can only imagine what effect it had in Egypt or Iran or Algeria.
Yep. its called blowback. And when a big chunk of the US enlisted personnel refused to get vaccinated for equally stupid reasons and had to be discharged Thats when the US government finally stopped.
Blame Erodgan for being a brain-dead authoritarian.
Oh f... that ****! It may not all be "America bad" , but damn its hard to see "America good" sometimes...
Probably because it's neither. No country is always good or always bad, and the government is not the people.
Governments very rarely truly represent the desires of the actual population.
It's a coin toss sometimes
Because America is bad. Ask anyone from any country we have couped/invaded.
It takes a real toll on me getting reminded over and over again how much evil there is in the world. But we must keep fighting.

There were people actually refuse vax if they know its sinovac one, making every vax center / activity need to disclose their stock in invitation.
Of course Moderna and Astra Zeneca one become fave. Pfizer was too far few and mostly on private paid setting
The Philippines should 180° us completely for this and they would be crazy not to at least threaten it and make moves in that direction without us providing OVERWHELMING compensation and admitting it publicly for as many of their people to all see and hear.
Just paying for damages isn't enough as we broke their trust in us as an ally, made a public health emergency far worse, created more xenobia just because we hate China's government (which almost always means more Right Wing fearmongers and populous), and potentially created more public health emergencies for the Philippines down the road with us helping to create more potentially lifelong antivaxers.
We created lasting impact so we should do more then just foot the bill for the damages that we caused during the pandemic.
Phillipines ever since leaving Spain's clutches, was always America's colony, unfortunately
And move towards who? China? Rember while all of this is going on, china is actively encroaching on their waters and sending ships into the spratleys to occupy them and justify their claim to the area. The Philippine government has to send marines to occupy a ship just to dissuade them from going further, this would be a china w if it wasn’t for the fact that they weren’t also assholes to most of se Asia.
As bad as this story is, it would be hilarious if the reason propaganda continued to go out after being ordered to stop was just scheduled posts no one bothered to cancel.
I bet the same thing were done in Brazil. We use to be a world model for vaccination. After the pandemic under Bolsonaro, for the first time ever people are not vaccinating anymore as they use to.
This really is the south park episode come true

The #1 rule of existing on this planet is that your are NEVER supposed to assume that the US government has pure intentions, particularly if you’re outside of it.
This feels to me less like an "American government" thing and more like a "Trump's administration" kinda behavior. Thoroughly disgusting regardless tho
Its so typical of trump. No soft power, just corrupt grifting and threaths and short term thinking.
As european trump opened the eyes in a sense that u.s. could really fuck up everyone and that no country should trust them. Hell, good amount of people and congressmen think electing trump for second term is good idea. To me it is alarming that so many prominent people support trump presidenct.
Beau covered this already. Biden stopped it 4 months into his term, likely when they found it.
Oh it definitely is a american government thing. At least during the cold war which is exactly what Trump wants
Honestly, this whole affair will do little to change sentiment in the Philippines towards the US. China is already pretty unpopular here, and we’re already knee-deep with the US in so many ways.
Plus, the SinoVac vaccine eventually shown to have relatively poor efficacy, so all the US actually had to do was just sit back and let the Chinese vaccines do their ‘work’.
This whole psy op was just monumentally stupid.
So shy is Marcos moving even clocer to to usa? Is that not making him unpopular Or is the institutional power of the us in your country just too powerful?
@@yungkunk6287it’s too powerful. And even without this psy op, there already was high vaccination hesitancy amongst Filipinos. There was this huge (maybe overblown) controversy regarding a vaccine called Dengvaxia in the mid 2010’s. Look it up

Like most organizations, sometimes they succeed brilliantly, and other times they fail spectacularily, but usually it's somewhere between those extremes. @SeanNaut
I saw an article that Russia and China actually were spending a lot closer to what the US was militarily than raw numbers suggest because they monopolize their military resources. That combined with 60% of America’s military budget being pure graft probably means the US is extremely vulnerable to a full scale war.
Example: many military vehicles are constructed with specialty parts that are only made in one factory in a random location in the USA. This is because the specialized part ensures a meaty contract and the random factory gives a congressperson a tie to the military industry. Strategically, however, this is absolutely stupid. It means a single attack on one of these small factories could shut down all production and maintenance of that vehicle. One bomb goes off in Oklahoma and boom no more F-35s.

Regarding China giving out PPE equipment, weren’t they reselling equipment that people living around the world had sent to them for free at the start of the pandemic?
