I totally can NOT listen to a great song for anything less than 20 times in a row!
MY music when I was young oh my God
that shift at 2:40 is just groovy man
That's just how I would have described it in '75!
Tears filling my eyes without measure remembering all those who were my elders no longer present. Thanks to great awesome timeless songs like this that still have the ability to take me back in time.
Exactly. I miss them all 😢
The drummer had a really great voice! He definitely deserved more credit. He was also an awesome drummer.
He was a drum teacher for 40 years after this but still toured with his own band. He is amazing I was so in love with him

Another classic of the 70's. How can you not like this? Frankie had a ton of talent!
One of my favorite songs God those were great times
Correction, Frankie HAS tons of talent. The man is still touring and crushing it.
Eso es correcto todavía canta y hace concierto con la edad que tiene
The whole band is top notch!
This song is actually from 1966, not the seventies.
This is a wonderful song. A big thank you to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons for their excellent back catalogue.
One of the greatest pop songs ever: the driving beat, the ensemble voices meshing together perfectly, and Valli's baritone lead voice make it exceptional.
Agreed my friend, it is fantastic ! I've only recently discovered it, so I'm hearing it properly for the first 10 times. It's so good, it makes me miss the 70's ! Although I was born in '72
Great song. 70s we're incredible

Brother Biff, life actually was a whole lot better. And there was actual music, such as this recording proves. Today, WTH? The Great DumbDown worked.
Yes sir Carl! I find my peace listening to music from the 50,60s and 70s and you’re right, most of today’s music can’t even begin to stand next to the music from the past. And yes, the dumbdown worked.🥴
a lot better biff
I love the intense, 3:29 serious, sweating concentration on Frankie' s face.
He took his music VERY seriously.
It was this sort of devotion which made the 4 Seasons the great group that they were.
It was not uncommon in those days to have to record 5 to 15+ takes of a song, before the group got one of them perfect. Richie Valens went though that as well.
Frankie was just 41 when this was recorded. But he looks older to me.
I guess all the stresses aged him.
THE MAN IS A TIMELESS CLASSIC
If you want to see what 50s. 60s and 70s artists went through to make a single record, back in the day. Example Lynyrd Skynyrd traveled from Florida to Sheffield, Alabama to record without a penny to their names. The whole band stayed in a one bedroom at Balews' truck stopwhich coincidentally, was torn down a couple ofdays ago). During the day, they walked the streets of the little towns in the Muscle Shoals area, picking up coke bottles and taking them to a store for 2 cents a piece. They bought a jar of peanut butter and a box of ccrackers with that big windfall. Each night they got in fist fights with big, mean, truckers because of their long hair but they hung in there until one of the Legendary Swampers (JimmyJohnson) gave them free studio time after midnight. Can you imagine a musician in the last 40 or 50 years, hanging in there like that? I'll answer for you....HELL NO!
So give a ton of respect to the musicians, singers, songwriters and producers who set the stage for later people. Almost all are gone now except for their blood Sweat&tears. They went through hell compared to the softies of the last few decades.
@@kenperk9854 Swampers
This is a song from my teen years that I loved! I have a brain injury and loss of memory, so I was told to listen to old music and when I do, it takes me right back to a time I remember! Anyways, I didn't know who sang this song, I don't think I ever saw a video, but the first time I watched this, the thing that grabbed me was Frankie's closeup and the intense look on his face. I sat here and listened to it over and over and over. It gives me the chills. When I saw your comment, I was like .... someone else was grabbed by the look on his face too!! Anyways, have a good day! Thanks for sharing!

65 , remember all the words , now I have to go listen to some more “oldies but goodies” . We had the best era of music right?
Right there with ya, you got 1 yr. On me.
This song was popular back in 1976 around the time my mom was dying of cancer. My brothers (3) and I dedicated this to her as our song of love to her. I know that sounds silly but when we hear it today it reminds us of her. My youngest brother was 10 and our oldest brother 16. I was 13 and other brother 15. She was 38 years old. We miss her terribly
Not silly at all, I played the song at my mother’s funeral three weeks ago🕊🙏🌹
May our beautiful mother’s rest in peace 🕊🌹🤍🙏
It doesn’t sound silly at all. It’s the perfect song. May your family be blessed!
Blessings to all the mom's in Heaven 🙏
😭 What a sweet sweet gesture, and I am sure she understood the spirit of love it was intended, from the other side. I am so sorry for your loss. ☮️ ❤️
My youngest are 22 and 24, they love all 70's music. I'm an old mom.

I love all Franky Valley‘songs; specially this one!! ❤❤❤
Fav song of theirs. Frankie had that phenomenal range that no one else had at the time! He's classic!
some TIGHT harmony, like one voice!!!
I think the drummer deserves as much recognition as Frankie Valli. His drumming is awsome and his voice is the best one in the group. Even though Frankie has that distinctive voice, many of the best songs of this group would be nothing without the drummers voice.
Gerry Polci! Yeah, his voice was superb.
His voice made "December 1963, Oh What a Night" the gigantic hit it was, and the classic it will always be.
@@perseusjoppa426 The contributions of Polci and Don Ciccone (tall guy with afro) cannot be understated. Due to hearing loss, Frankie was having problems carrying all the lead singing at the time. Ciccone had been a lead singer himself in the 60s ("Mr. Dieingly Sad" by the Critters). Polci aided by Ciccone helped carry the weight. This particular incarnation of the Four Seasons was more than the sum of its parts.
Yes he does
Definetly, the guy is phenomenal, drumming and singing, check out a performance of Silver Star on UK TV
