i don t think most people understand the value of this video... and how many luthiers keep secrets this relic parts... for example fender custom shop doesn t let anyone to see how they relic their guitars... thank you sir for all you do
Thank you. Many people tell me that I reveal too many secrets to the general public. But I don't think so. I really try to show everyone the intricacies of technology and I have a specific goal for this. Once upon a time in the nineties, my father and I studied ancient icon painting and fresco painting because my father lived by this, as I do now in Les Paul. But at that time there was no Internet, there weren’t even books on this topic. The Soviet Union has just died (praise God). Before this, this whole topic was taboo. We looked for information in handicraft reprints. We asked the simplest information about technology from artists who knew something and had some experience. but they all did not want to share even the simplest information about the technology. This really infuriated me. Now my father and I have walked this path and painted dozens of churches in Europe and the Balkans (the cradle of the original Byzantine fresco). Where are all those artists who hid the technology? I don't know. technology is just like the pentatonic scale. Just because you learned it doesn't mean you'll play like Clapton. Therefore, I am happy to share my experience and experiments. Because if someone follows my path and becomes better than me, then I can learn new things from him. This is happiness. This is how art and progress work. I consider UA-cam to be an analogue of the Great Library of Alexandria. This is the gold of the modern world. I'll be happy to leave a part of me here. And on Patreon I will tell everyone about this in even more detail.
@@8BombCustom i one hundred percent agree... for example...i watched a lot of videos and i tried relicing a guitar myself... i fu*ked it up... i lost money on that and now i know better... perfect takes practice... even if you see how it is done... you won t do it like the one who does it for a living
@@8BombCustomthis is elegantly stated and really sheds light on where your roots are and how you’ve become a master at what you do. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
@@8BombCustom Relic concept is the worst thing that ever happened to luthiers imho.
Good luthiers don’t do relics
Still after many years, one of the BEST builders on the planet 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you for your kind words ☺️
Fantastic. I think people really don't understand the artistry and work that goes into making a proper replica... of anything. Bravo
Thank you
I like your attitude and approach, and that you correct old mistakes and constantly improve. The master has already failed many more times than the beginner. The difference is, the master kept practicing and improving. I discovered your channel a few years ago while searching for ways to relic a Telecaster neck. Even back then, you had a couple of videos showing your evolution in techniques. Thank you!
Thank you 😊
Now let’s compare this one to the $20,000 custom. I think this one wins.
The color of the top and the flame is perfect, best one yet Alex. Bravo on the Greeny relic 3.0
Thank you
Yet another beautiful work of art! As I have said before, ANY guitar factory Custom Shop would be lucky to have a man of your artistic talent to build a solid aging/relicing team capable of your level of expertise. I love your work, great video, great sounds as well! Rock On, Brother!!
Thank you
This is excellent! I've learned so much. Thank you
Thank you
Masterpiece by Master! Awesome as usual! Happy to have opportunity to be right by these treasures! Thank you!
Thank you bro
A true artist ! Wonderful sounding guitar. Thank you.
Thank you
Your guitars come out so nice !!! Absolutely beautiful !!!
Thank you
Wow, amazing work!
Absolutely amazing!!! You are a master builder for sure.
Perfection!! Congrats!!
Thank you
Great looking piece of art, man!
thanks to you too
That's a work of art. Speechless!
Thank you
Very very cool man. I love this
Great job
Thank you
Great job!!
Thank you
Looks great, sounds great, just brilliant! 🤩
Thank you
Incredible video
Thank you
Oh man what a Dream guitar
Wonderful work! Watching you relicing a guitar is really soothing for my mind. Its an art. And you got the skillz. Fake or not, really who cares. Never mind those
Thank you 😊
Great job.
Thank you
Very nice replica !
WOW! Just WOW!
I love your work and I respect your opinion...do you feel the Tonerite helps make the guitar more resonant? Thank you.
Man... Super good!
Thank you bro 🙏
Outstanding!
Thank you
Greenie 3.0 The heather is close to the original top, and the relic is much more complete than before, and it looks great.
Thank you
felicitaciones!!!
Nice. Very good!
Thank you
dam that guitar sounds good! you nailed it.
SuperB again, Dr. Nitro. Regards from Spain!
Thank you
Can I ask your opinion on polishing a nitro finish with checking cracks?
I have a greeny on the way and the finish is quite satin and I’d like to put a lil shine on it. It has checking on the body , I’m assuming it was done by blade, and am afraid the polish will either stain through to the cap or fill the cracks thanks
Yes polishing wax can fill the "cracks" if they maked with blade.
@@8BombCustom is there anything else that can be used to make it a slight gloss finish rather than the satin?
Is there any difference with your 59 paf replica and greeny paf replica except the middle position out of phase sound?
(in terms of construction)
Yes, the main features in the design of the neck pickup.
I laughed for a long time now! It's funny, but I have two types of music masters I know. The first of them repair completely killed instruments, and, in fact, make a completely new master instrument from a 200-year-old violin or guitar, with a dried out, cracked and broken soundboard, a broken neck, and dead pegs, which will sound great and will last, perhaps for another hundred years. Other music masters, like you, on the contrary, use a new working instrument to make something very similar to what the first music masters repaired.
It looks like you won't leave each other without work! looool
Super job, as always! This GREENY sounds like a honey with chilli! Awesome! Thank You for sharing! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thanks Samantha. Your comments are always very interesting and energizing! 🙏
Badass craftsmanship as always!
What was that you put on the guitar at 27:35?
Nice work always! What kind of tuner app is that?
Had to sub , cheers from New Zealand
Wow! It was AWESOME!
Thank you
As always with you a true masterpiece.. I'm curious which guitar was before your work on it?
Amazing! What are your thoughts on the Tone Rite? How long do you keep in on your guitars?
Thank you. I've been using ToneRite for several years now and in my case it helps a lot in shrinking all the components on a newly assembled guitar. this works well on nice new guitars. on cheap ones it doesn’t work almost at all, since there is nothing to sound there. on already played ones the effect is less noticeable. In any case, it is good to leave the device on every night as a habit.
@@8BombCustom Thank you!! keep up the great work. I'm looking to purchase some 8 bomb custom pickups this year. Probably the '59 Clone set.
@@ScottWalker-uw3rp Thank you
Fantastic genius
Thank you
Well done! You do beautiful work, maybe you could sell it to Kirk Hammett! I think he’s nuts taking Greeny on the road…..😅
Maybe... 🤔 thank you
The finest relic work...............! but the greeny's superlative top is 99% of the look!
Beautiful work of art and dedication. Also very informative. She looks stunning… would you consider a strat maybe for the future ? Keep up the good work!
Thank you. One of next project will be a John Frusciante '62 Stratocaster.
@@8BombCustom I cannot wait to see it ! What a great choice for a strat - iconic and perfect for relicing! Thanks for replying 8B !
Not big fan of relic guitars, but sound is insane ! Good job 👍
Very like videos like this!
Thank you
That’s insane. Such a good replica. Honestly I feel like it would pain me to purposely damage a perfect brand new guitar like that.
But the way it came out in the end was like a perfect replica.
I was thinking of one day shelling out the money for a Gibson custom les Paul reissue.., but if this guy sells guitars I’m thinking I’ll have to go with him instead
The question is how much would you charge to do it for me
Thank you
Beautiful, what does the "tone right" gizmo do?
Thank you. This device i use for vibration shrinkage of all structural components and stress relief after assembly. it works great.
@@8BombCustom cool, thanks for the reply.
There is no evidence that the ToneRite does anything at all.
Dude, there's no captions! Also, what chemical do you use @7mins & 21 seconds to wipe off the Les Paul insignia?
Thank you. You will find about all the materials that I use and about all the nuances of working with them on my Patreon in the Maker level

How many hours?
Doesn't Greeny have a black jackplate, not a metal one? Maybe I'm wrong, though...
How much are your greeny pickups and how can I order to the U.S. @8bombcustoms

wow!
Quality
Nice! Im curious how long this took to complete?
Thank you. For relic It was about 2 wholl weeks. I work fast 😁
Fantastic job! Gibson Custom Murphy Lab should offer you a job.
Thanks
can you make a standard les paul looks like 59?
Great job! now it remains to somehow get behind the scenes of metallica and exchange yours for his grinny.))) and it will be in the hat, otherwise let him play on this one!)))
when forgeries are widely accepted and well paid😊
(btw these are not the worst artists, that are able to make perfect copies in the art market)..
Dude gibson should be giving you a job in yhe Murphy lab.... Great job and thanks for sharing
OMG eto zalipatelno )))
Spasibo
Great job ! ! ! You've done an amazing job. On another note.... I just don't see what all the hype is over "Greenie"..... I mean I get it that it was owned by 3 great players but still, that doesn't grab my interest like it does others. I'd rather have a new guitar and put my own wear and tear on it. It's my guitar..... If anyone buys a Greenie, it's not gonna miraculously make them a better player and of course the main thing.... IT WON'T BE THE REAL GREENIE............
Thank you
Awesome my friend 😃🙋🏻♂️🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you
new videos? like without looking
Thank you
I hope one day, have enough money to buy one of you're replicas... It's my dream, believe me. Greetings from Argentina !!!!
Thank you
What is the point of using "correct" vintage type of capacitor but with capacitance of +30% ? 22nF ceramic cap will be 10 times closer to 22nF bumble bee than 29nF vintage oil cap.
In my opinion, the choice of capacitors depends only on personal preferences. I have several vintage PIO Bumblebees, one film Bumblebee that sounds more interesting to me. According to measurements, all values show 0.028-0.029. In my projects I put vintage John E Fast 0.029 as they are exactly true to face value in measurement. I also like the sound of the K40-U9 and K42-U2. they all sound a little different. Ceramics can also be very beautiful. For example, vintage Mexican tablets that were installed on Fender. if 0.022, then they are very good for Les Paul.
@@8BombCustom if old vintage bumble bee 0.022 measures 0.029, so may be it is better to use modern 0.027…nice info. Thanks!
Sweeeet .
extraordinary work of art - your guitars, optical illusion and sound wise !
- if i could afford it would engage you for a relic Job on my Fender JM - thanks
Thank you
Gibson relic Greeny (50k) 0
8Bomb Custom 1
😂😂😂👍
Can you make a Gary Moore stratocaster relic?
, Maybe someday
I'd so much rather have a real or copy of a good Les Paul from that era while new, all that "relic" work does nothing for me other than cause revulsion. Flipping the neck pickup may float some boats, but my tech friend said he could install a switch to do the same thing, or not...
Sorry, on this channel I don't use russian language.
Murphy Lab is a joke in comparison to you. Amazingggg!!!
Thank you
Is there any other type of person that will buy a brand new item that has been made to look old, are guitarists the new drummers I mean seriously we are dumb as dogshit. Very nice work though hahaha
My guts twisted watching the abuse you did to this valuable guitar. 🥶
The only consolation the owner may have will be that any bumps or scratches s/he makes in the future will go unnoticed! 😂
Thank you
Great job. Good craftsmenship, but a guitar needs to earn its scars.... Grüße nach Hamburg..
Danke
First of all, great job. Given you have to invent a lot of stuff yourself, on your own, the compliment stands even truer. As a side note, you could have printed out the pictures in true size and transfer the damage pattern more easily AND more precisely; that especially is correct for smaller dings on the face of the guitar. May be, desaturate the image, highlight the pattern and print it out on translucent film in BW. Some of the stuff on the back (buckle rash) looks too deliberate, those noodle-like scratches, and you put too many identical circular indents on the back (see 14:56). Other than that, well, man, it's a pro job.
Thank you
For a “realistic” relic job … #1 break the headstock 🤐🤐🤐
Gibson 😅
Tnx man 👍👏👏👏
The Gibson custom shop are amateurs compared to you
Thank you 😊
@@8BombCustom it’s nothing 😉
Gibson should have watched this before releasing their criminally overpriced Greeny recently , which is just a basic Les Paul with different pickups . They suck !
Why not just play it and put your own “relic” on it…. I don’t understand this thought process….as the robot on lost in space says…
Does not compute
Does not compute
🙄
The top and back look really good. However, the headstock looks so incredibly cheezy it COMPLETELY throws the entire project off. Going up the neck fretboard side up it looked amazing until it hit the headstock. Once I saw the headstock it ruined the whole vibe for me. I don’t know if it can be fixed. Looks pretty ugly and sticks out like a sore thumb. Looks like a Chinese knock off. Definitely a dealbreaker!!!
but it's not realistic. it's just one of countless attempts by others at trying to imitate something real. It's largely superficial and cosmetic, not realistic
Thank you. I will try one more time.
@@8BombCustom you can try as many more times as you like. That won't make it realistic either
I don't care. I will do that just because I like it. I allways do what I like. Whole my live 😁 And every time it always turns out better.
@@8BombCustom ok, don't need my approval. The point is that it still won't make it realistic. In order for it to be realistic one would have to actually have and use it for some 60 yrs.
@@rodnyg7952 you right. But that’s a completely different story and we’ll use different money. if you are lucky enough to have an original 59 then you are lucky and know what you are talking about. But if not, then this is just your opinion and has no real basis. just personal taste and attitudes.
