Any other areas or strats you know about or discovered that are worth mentioning or should have been included? Let me know! I’m always curious to learn about new things when it comes to this game. c: Also I obviously didn’t include anything like a money duplication glitch because that’s just… cringe, bro.
One strat I use is taking the perk them's good eatin as soon as possible and selling every blood sausage and thin red paste, it's a nice passive income
Paying attention to worth to weight ratio when picking up items to sell is so second nature to me that I don't even think about it. Even with a low barter you can still get stupid amount of caps by being smart with what you pick up and repair.
One thing to mention about Dead Money: when you leave, you still have access to the Sierra Madre vending machine in Elija’s bunker. This means you can still redeem chip vouchers you may have forgotten about after you leave. More importantly, completing the dlc you will get complimentary chips sent to the safe outside the bunker door of the vending machine after interacting with the terminal. Assuming you get all of the holotapes for the vending machines, this means you now have access to a basically unlimited supply of doctor’s bags, weapon repair kits, and chems. It also means that cigarette packs/cartons become a worthwhile source of income as you can still trade them for sierra madre chips.
Yup and the best money maker is to use the chips and vouchers in the drop box (located just opposite the terminal in the abandoned bunker) which will deposit 100 chips and 1 voucher (if you won 7500 chips in the casino) every three days which you should use to purchase weapon repair kits to fix every damaged weapon you come across. With 100 repair you'll need only 3-4 repair kits (30% weapon condition per kit) to completely fix anything. A weapon repair kit costs 20 chips which comes to 55 weapon repair kits every three days which if your smart should be used to fix 10mm Submachine guns which I have seen sold for 2134 caps each. So if my math is right and you collect enough 10mm Submachine guns you can get a minimum of 29342 caps every three days. That value btw is assuming every 10mm submachine gun is found with 1 durability if they have 10% or more that value jumps to 39323 caps. So even if you "let go" dead money still makes you capable of funding the enormous cost of finding the platinum chip in just over 83 days.
This is the real value of Dead Money here. The gold bars are nothing compared to the vending machine which is an infinite source of radaway, stimpaks and weapon repair kits.
The best reason for doing owb before dead money is once you get out of dead money you can use the transportalponder to instantly travel back to the sink and store the bars there and even sell them to the mainframe since it refreshes a pretty large amount of caps and stims/chems Edit: the sink mainframes refresh timer is based on time spent within big Mt, so you have to go there and just sleep in a bed or whatever to refresh the shop
2 VERY important things missing: > The Sink adds the caps you spend on repairs to his barter cap pool. So repair your main gear then sell. > The Divide vendor-things should restock their caps every time you bring them to 200 or less.
Idk if you accidentally left it out or just dont know but you can actually increase the max amount of caps you earn per casino, by getting close too the max pool 9900 or so than going too the slots and hit a jackpot and you'll earn more than you normally would. This works for roulette too but you gotta do the 35:1 jackpot i prefer slots tho less troublesome.
I think I just didn’t include it because I want to get out of gambling so fast that I just do blackjack which seems to be the most consistent way of hitting the caps threshold quickly. I hate being in the casinos gambling is so mind numbingly boring LOL
@ClLuna that's honestly relatable I only ever do black jack because once you played FNV enough times alot of things become mind numbing, I was just trying too help you out and will continue to do so when I can
An interesting thing about the commissaries in Lonesome road That not everybody knows is if you Sell enough to clear out all the caps If you leave it and then enter back all the caps Will be back.
Was just going through my regular cigarette and fission battery grind when I saw this lol, I really loved this video, you'll blow up soo this is great man
I honestly don't mess with the gold from deadmoney. It's useful to get the gra legendaries but I kinda want to stop using long haul for this one trip. Or just use the teleporter. Also handy trick for deadmoney use the implant grx to absolutely cheese the radio portions and the holo grams by speeding past them and getting to their emitters
Abandoned BoS bunker is meant to be a “player home” of sorts so the way I do it is immediately store most of the bars in a container there and come back for a couple of them when I’m strapped for cash.
For me, I use a mod that gives me perks as I level up my skills (e.g you get Silent Running if you level your sneak up enough to the point where you could get it, but it will instead automatically give it to you) and I just level up my barter without needing to worry about using an extra perk just for that.
There are 3 green storage bags in the beginning of Honest Hearts that I use for my loot. It’s located along the wall where you are first ambushed. It’s in the proximity of the fast travel location too.
I was today years old when I found out you can leave The Divide without clearing the quests.... thanks for that tip! I get 40,000 caps before completing the DLCs, but you did provide me with some insights I never considered; I am soft on the NCR and have never nuked them before after Lonesome Roads, thanks for that especially! Oh and some pointers I noted: OWB: What you said about farming Lobotomites is factual, walk around or they will come to you, you're gonna farm a lot of them and get gear for days, (with Them's Good Eatin', expand search for Y-17 Trauma Harnesses, Nightstalkers, and the Cyber Dogs. Dead Money: reach 9,999 chips, and then go to the roulette table and bet all in on one tile, and get 3,500 chips more. All DLCs: I wish I knew about the skill books and their respective locations before maxing out my stats before going anywhere. ughhh my minmax build was getting more stressful as I was finding books I already maxed out on (everything but unarmed lmao)
You forgot to mention the cheeky sierra madre snow globe, which gives you 2000 sierra madre chips, which is about 18k caps by itself. It is quite hidden and out of the way so a lot of people forgot about it.
Selling weapons/armor is actually a poor way of getting rich IMO due to the merchant's cap limit and weight/value ratio. Here are a few suggestions that don't need to kill several NPCs for their gears: Pre-war Money (weights nothing) Energy weapon ammo Sensor Module, Packs and Carlton of Cigarettes. Fission battery (you can use it to make a lot of SEC with 45 Science) In my current playthrough, I've traded all my Sierra Madre Chips for Pre-war Money (at 9 caps each) and now I'm with almost 200k caps Gambling is always a good strategy but requires a certain build (and there are no chems that help with Luck - you can get the Naughty Nightwear and Lucky Shades, though, but takes a while). You can also steal NCR Dogtags and deliver them to the Legion, it will increase your fame with them and from time to time they will deliver several chests with tons of Legion money.
I like this method because you get very rich while actually playing the game instead of farming and breaking immersion and is also flexible for several builds - it also doesn't put you in bad terms with the NCR (actually it makes easier to solve some of its quests like an Eye for an Eye)
I’m glad to hear it!! there’s a handful of videos like that where I go back and watch them over and over cuz I enjoyed them so much, I’m glad I could elicit the same feeling out of you! c:
Easy answer is you don't need to, the game drowns you in money or the resources you'd need to generate it. Repeatable resource quests when you're on good terms with the factions, OWB Sink, high luck, gold bars, just selling the shit you don't need which ends up bankrupting merchants anyway while you remain overencumbered. Just play the game the way you want, that's what NV is great for
That’s what I was thinking. And what do you even spend all this money on? I have three weapons I always run with, only one being an expensive GRA purchase. After that, what do I buy?
Truthfully, I've never considered farming in new vegas. I guess I play it as if I have a time limit and need to make wise decisions to succeed (I tend to use difficulty increasing mods), but seeing how lucrative a little bit of consideration can be is definitely making me want to play again in a way I never have 🤔 very good video
Yo I just wanted to say this video is super well made and I appreythe unique approach you bring to fallout NV content going over meta strats! Big appreciate you sharing the knowledge! Keep up the great work
At about 17:22 all 3 of the Duffle Bags at the Southern Passage are near the exit and are safe storage. If you've taken Long Haul you'll be able to fast travel back home or close by while over-encumbered. If your home is in the Lucky 38 you could fast travel to a nearby Mojave Express drop box and that could shorten the walk by sending the items to the monorail station on the New Vegas Strip. If your home is in OWB the teleporter should work while over-encumbered so the walk from the Duffle Bags to the Southern Passage exit and out the Northern Passage cave would be short.
Extra stuff you didn't mention: 1. Jury Rigging perk. (Seriously, buy broken or semi-broken Combat Helms or Power Armor Helms and a couple 1-3 cap Hats / Glasses, and repair these gems to double or triple your $ every time a merchant has them. Same applies for Combat Knives, and some other weapons / armor. Junk Metal Armor -> repair Power Armor and junk Combat Armor -> Recon Armor is fantastic. Most of the time when this happens, you clear out the merchants $ without actually offloading the loot you came to sell...) 2. Personally, I set my bar lower, being the loot goblin I am, I see, "1 pound -> 5 caps value" as good money. So thats things like Sugar Bombs, most food, Pressure Cookers, and Abraxo Cleaner... BUT here's your big ticket junk items: Fission Batteries and Sensor Modules. 6 lbs -> $75 and 2 lbs -> $30 respectively. (Also no clue why, but Point Lookout has an absurd amount of Fission Batteries you can sell to its two-three merchants.) 3. Abuse Old World Blues more: Basically all empty bottles can be turned into Purified Water (1 pound -> $20 caps) at the faucet when fully upgraded. Give Toasters to the Toaster, and Mugs to Muggy. (Muggy has the best deal turning 1 pound of Coffee Mug into 2 pounds of Wonder Glue = $20 caps and an Empty Syringe = 0.005 pounds and $8 caps... I typically use Empty Syringes and Old World Money as "emergency" barter fuel due to have zero or next to zero carry weight.) Just whenever you're loaded up on bottles, toasters, and Coffee Mugs, head to the drive-in, drop em on the ground, and continue with whatever you were doing. 4. Forgot to mention how you can revisit Elijah's bunker for the respawning supply of chips, and working vending machine to sell off more Cigs. (Stimpacks are probably your best trade from the machine $ wise?)
You beat me to (1) and (3), but I would add that you can also buy certain types of food (particularly maize) from Etienne at the Westside Co-op and Farber at McCarran (as well as stealing the large amount in the Boomers' biodiesel factory), take them to the Sink once you've collected enough, and have the Biological Research Station convert them all into Salient Green, which can then be sold for an obscene profit. edit: Another tip is to get positive reputation with the Khans. If you're accepted, you can buy and sell at their armory. They have fewer caps on hand than other vendors, but they buy and sell at 100% of the base cost, where other vendors will only buy at 90% (if you have 100 barter skill) and sell to you at 110%. You can also visit Diane at the drug lab and do the first part of her quest (just go to the outskirts of Cottonwood Cove and cut Anders down off his cross), and claim the recipe for Turbo as your reward. Selling it isn't a good way to earn caps, but using it to kill high level enemies for their loot is. I've also developed a cheese method for killing Legion hit squads, and should probably make a video on it. (If you go to Fields' Shack near Nellis, you can kill the first assassin with a normal 50 BMG round, then take a particular path to get the other three hung up on the terrain and take them out with a single explosive round.)
Happy 1k! I just found your channel this morning at 990 subs. You're content is amazing and you are doing great for only posting for a month. Looking forward to what you make next!! Keep it up!
At 15:16 it can get even more easy with the Rad Child perk. You could just stand in the cloud for quite a while if you wanted to. You don't have to worry about healing very much.
@13:45 Oh I let go, let go of poverty that is 😂 But seriously if you plan on taking all of the gold or other loot in this vid, make sure you get the "long haul" perk. Great video!
Or you can just get basically all the caps you will ever need from the dead money gold glitch (doing owb first will let you teleport and stash the gold so you wont be overencumbered)
You have to wait the amount of time it takes to refresh vendors INSIDE owb to have the sink get its caps back.this still refreshes the base game ones aswell
Lol, I love doing energy weapon runs, what I always do, first I kill Joe Cobb and get his stealth boy, then I do the speedrun route from black mountain to the strip, I then immediately go to the Silver Rush, pop my stealth boy, steal all the weapons left out, I ask for a job, then I allow the guy with the roving trader outfit in, kill Simon, steal all the loot, repair everything. Easy money, easy weapons, really good armor, all right out the gate! (Then I go to the strip for the Pres Suite, and gamble everything with my high luck).
Here's a tip for Honest Hearts and Dead Money. In Honest Hearts you can store your loot in the duffel bags near the beginning where you start out and Dead Money you can store loot in the trash can near the entrance. They do not despawn and have changed the way I play them forever.
something I find funny, as someone who's first bethesda game was new vegas, I got so used to weapons being where the loot money was at that when skyrim came out I spent years basically not even looking at armor values and just looting weapons and thought gold was much harder to come across early game than everyone else. As it turns out in skyrim, weapons are mostly near worthless since the hide armor and hide bracers off low level bandits have such a better weight ratio. I wasn't even like fully doing all the math or thinking deeply about it when I was a little kid in new vegas, just rough "I can hold like 8 of this gun even though it's not worth quite as much but that's so many more than this single armor that it's probly better" assumptions
Once you have a lot of caps you can buy entire stocks from merchants loading them up on caps and then play caravan vs them and max bet and get all the caps back while keeping everything you bought. You can make 10s of thousands of caps in minutes
The casino part you should play black jack till 1000 caps under the casinos limt then play slots and get 3 grapes if I remember correctly it's 45,000 caps for 3 grapes then go to the rest of the casinos and do the same at less 140,000 caps
I make money by picking up the 1st Ed E upgrade then getting vilified by the legion, I use the once a day repair to fix their high tier weapons then sell em to the vendortron
@@sabschatz yeah, fo4 is the only fallout game where there's a reason to farm. But in New Vegas? Caps are so easy to get that you don't even need to farm. Dead Money alone gives you more money than you'll ever need
but why would you need so much money anyway? In one optimes run through all the farming spots you should be getting like 10k caps which is honestly enough for the whole game. I remember I had a 100% playthrough where I ended up with a casual 250k caps with maybe 1/5 of the optimisations I could have implemented.
I mean, if you can get 34,000 chips from any casino, drop them on the floor, and they'll become a negative stack of chips, and you'll be able to redeem them for currency indefinitely i do this every playthrough by being kicked out of every casino and by that time i'll always have enough for the glitch
Yeah…Definitely a way to farm caps for sure 🤔 Personally I’m never making a character that’s gonna be going around murdering NPCs just for weapons to sell so…Cigarettes & Fission Battery Scavenging it is Lol.
Survivalist's has the highest DPS of all Guns from 0-20 dt, only being surpassed by Paciencia at 25ish dt + Basically it is your Best In Slot for most enemies. HH also offers Energy Weapons the Compliance Regulator which is the strongest CC in the game bar none. The most valuable thing is from DM you get is the infinite Sierra Madre Chips from being banned in the casino. Every 3 days you'll get a free Complimentary Voucher which you can then turn into Stimpacks to completely break the economy. The order in which you finish the DLCs depends entirely on your goals and build, of which making money is the least important since all of thel we'll have you walking out of thel rich as fuck. DM offers a top tier weapon for Energy (Holorifle is the best one-shot Sniper-esque weapon Energy has) but more importantly a infinite money and access to an infinite amount of most important consumables HH offers a BiS weapon for Guns (Survivalist's), BiS weapon for Energy (Compliance Regulator) and solid armor (Joshua's) OWB offers a mainstay for Guns (COS) and extremely powerful weapon for Energy (LAER+ is you BiS until you can get the Tri Beam fully modded), a BiS for Unarmed (Mobius Glove), infinite Stealth Boys, infinite plants as well as easy source of Cave Fungus and 2 free STR . LR offers BiS for Melee (Old Glory and Blood-Nap), BiS for Unarmed (Fist of Rawr and Industrial Hand) and BiS armor for all Crit Builds (Elite vs Ulysses depending on if you favour speed or Dt because both proc all Light Armor perks without Mods, such as Light Touch) along with the ED-E Buffs and potentially 10% free damage along with bonus SPECiAL point. Basically Energy Weapons can do what they want first Guns should do HH first for the Survivalist's and ALSiD Melee should do LR first Unarmed should do OWB first Energy and Explosives can do whatever first for entirely opposite reasons, Energy gets something from all DLC while Explosives get all their BiS in the Mojave. I generally like OWB for Energy to get LAER+ as early as possible. If you want to abuse consumables do OWB into DM or Vice Versa. Also you can get infinite money easy if you know caravan lol
Two questions for you are you 100% about elite procing light touch crit? I had heard something similar but thought it was just a rumor. Also is the Holorifle that much better for sniping than a YCS on an energy crit build?
i was excited then i get hit with a goddamn spoiler shield >:C ill come back after im finished with my first playthrough series or when my money hungry ass wants to ball out then maybe ill come back BEFORE im done
I hope whoever follows this guide plans on siding with the legion on their play through because that's the only faction that would take them without mods. A players negative karma level would make Lucifer proud after this video.😂 8:31 Ahhhh.... That would help some but I don't see how it would help with the Boomers. Also, a side note about farming lonesome road. If you hold off on selling the thermic lances, and super sledges until you get the jury rig perk you can repair them with pool cues and shovels. Pool cues are dropped frequently by fiends and thugs and can be bought for cheap. Both are also very cheap to be repaired to full by the divide's commissary locations and they weigh next to nothing. Store all the super sledge and thereof lances you get in a container or desk next to commissary, return with pool ques, repair them, and make A LOT MORE. I also do this for those weapons in the main game when legion drop them.
New Vegas is too easy already, completing dead money is enough to break the economy completely (not talking about gold bars). Also killing legion/ncr kill squads.
"If given the chance, players will optimize fun out of a game" This doesn't seem like a particularly fun way to play a narrative driven role playing game, but oh well, there's probably people out there who find this playstyle fun.

(If you go to Fields' Shack near Nellis, you can kill the first assassin with a normal 50 BMG round, then take a particular path to get the other three hung up on the terrain and take them out with a single explosive round.)
you missed one important part at the start with the casino's. You can each 1 cap off the cap for being banned then get a massive payout in roulette.
Only question is why? Once u have enough for the implants from the clinic & sink theres hardly any reason to keep earning caps
You don't have to worry about healing very much.
woah looking down i genuinely expected you to have 10x the subs, I am glad to be subbed to you now - keep up the good work!
@13:45 Oh I let go, let go of poverty that is 😂 But seriously if you plan on taking all of the gold or other loot in this vid, make sure you get the "long haul" perk. Great video!
Didn't think anyone else would know the lonesome road farm, but it's so efficient.
(Then I go to the strip for the Pres Suite, and gamble everything with my high luck).
i see, you also do "casino crumbler" runs lol
If you have bad sneak i think the gun runner guards are good to avoid any reputation loss.
Great guide! Look forward to your other stuff!
I make money by picking up the 1st Ed E upgrade then getting vilified by the legion, I use the once a day repair to fix their high tier weapons then sell em to the vendortron
Another good video, keep making more 🗣️
Somethjng tells me I should be doing this for the occasional legion controlled town way more often
pretty obvious but you get WtC(or WtM) ratio by multiplying the value by the weight, and make sure to check when he puts a . before the number
multiplying or dividing?
dividing**
Legit this video is gonna make me play 360 new vegas
I NEED to return to vanilla
this videos are so good please keep uploading
Caravan can make you richer than mr house
It's my go to. Why does no bark have so many caps though? As far as I know he has the most
I never understood the point of farming and minmaxing in RPGs, but you do you I guess
honestly if theres a postgame, then I understand it, but vegas don't got one so
@@sabschatz yeah, fo4 is the only fallout game where there's a reason to farm. But in New Vegas? Caps are so easy to get that you don't even need to farm. Dead Money alone gives you more money than you'll ever need
Then why come to the video and comment
The best place I found to sell stuff was the commissaries in lonesome road
Great video I'm surprised it only has 1000 views
numbers so nice its making me want to subscribe twice
Gun runners is my go to grinding spot. They dont count as a faction so there's no consequences for killing the guards.
when i went to daniel he was wearng one of the marked men outfits from the divid so it looked like he had a crop top on
but why would you need so much money anyway? In one optimes run through all the farming spots you should be getting like 10k caps which is honestly enough for the whole game. I remember I had a 100% playthrough where I ended up with a casual 250k caps with maybe 1/5 of the optimisations I could have implemented.
I mean, if you can get 34,000 chips from any casino, drop them on the floor, and they'll become a negative stack of chips, and you'll be able to redeem them for currency indefinitely i do this every playthrough by being kicked out of every casino and by that time i'll always have enough for the glitch
YOOOOOO more de blob music!!!
Yeah…Definitely a way to farm caps for sure 🤔
Personally I’m never making a character that’s gonna be going around murdering NPCs just for weapons to sell so…Cigarettes & Fission Battery Scavenging it is Lol.
Survivalist's has the highest DPS of all Guns from 0-20 dt, only being surpassed by Paciencia at 25ish dt +
Basically it is your Best In Slot for most enemies.
DM offers a top tier weapon for Energy (Holorifle is the best one-shot Sniper-esque weapon Energy has) but more importantly a infinite money and access to an infinite amount of most important consumables
HH offers a BiS weapon for Guns (Survivalist's), BiS weapon for Energy (Compliance Regulator) and solid armor (Joshua's)
OWB offers a mainstay for Guns (COS) and extremely powerful weapon for Energy (LAER+ is you BiS until you can get the Tri Beam fully modded), a BiS for Unarmed (Mobius Glove), infinite Stealth Boys, infinite plants as well as easy source of Cave Fungus and 2 free STR .
Basically Energy Weapons can do what they want first
Guns should do HH first for the Survivalist's and ALSiD
Melee should do LR first
Unarmed should do OWB first
Energy and Explosives can do whatever first for entirely opposite reasons, Energy gets something from all DLC while Explosives get all their BiS in the Mojave.
Ahem, 10 luck + casinos rip bozo
he brought that up in the video, and the limit is 35k (excluding primm because fuck primm)
Can you do a video on modding the game for stability? Ive tried NVAC and it doesnt work great. Ive tried the tick fixer, and it didnt work great.
Once you get jury rigging you’ll never need to farm caps again.
i dropped old glory somewhere because it weighed to much and i didnt realise how good it was. i cant find out where i dropped it
if you disintegrate an enemy with energy weapons, they won't respawn
i just use juryrigging to repair and sell weapons
i finished the game with over 50,000 caps
I had no idea you could gamble in Sierra Madre and I have probably 300+ hours
My question is how you don't lose faction rep with each faction even with sneak attacks. Every time I do it, they magically know immendiately!
Are you using a silenced weapon/melee/unarmed weapon, one shotting and fully hidden from *everyone?* If you are it should work!
@@ClLuna makes sense, last time I tried was on xbox with a silenced rifle. Guess i didn't have good enough sneak 😂
Just play caravan with no-bark
9+1 luck at casino go brrrr
i was excited then i get hit with a goddamn spoiler shield >:C ill come back after im finished with my first playthrough series or when my money hungry ass wants to ball out then maybe ill come back BEFORE im done
I hope whoever follows this guide plans on siding with the legion on their play through because that's the only faction that would take them without mods. A players negative karma level would make Lucifer proud after this video.😂
8:31 Ahhhh....
I also do this for those weapons in the main game when legion drop them.
why do you not play hardcore. without it on you're essentially immortal if you have stims
what year is it
Just play lonesome road to get like 100k caps
20:21
>Bottom right corner 250x speed.
>Video showing footage that is clearly much slower than 250x speed.
What is going on here?
I wanted that gold
at 1:04 you said AID , please do not say AID as i have AIDS
not cool bro
i thought you were better than this
youre better than this
why would i do this though? i don't care
The video isnt directed specifically at you
This sounds like a horrible way to play the game...
New Vegas is too easy already, completing dead money is enough to break the economy completely (not talking about gold bars). Also killing legion/ncr kill squads.
allergic to the grind
"If given the chance, players will optimize fun out of a game"
This doesn't seem like a particularly fun way to play a narrative driven role playing game, but oh well, there's probably people out there who find this playstyle fun.
