1000% I find myself struggling to get this out of many actions simply because I go slightly early. It’s a bit annoying when you want to go competitive in ult while you also want to learn melee as both have almost completely different muscle memory.
Ness Guide. There are not many guides for him and he's my main in Melee. I just started playing Melee about a month ago and I want to get better with him because he's the one that feels the best to play for me.
Search up ness guides on smashboards. Ignore any comment about picking a top tier. That should only come to your decision alone if you want a secondary or second main. More representation of other characters is great because it means a diverse cast instead of just fox, falco, marth, sheik. Four characters isn't diverse
This video is so well done! As an Ultimate player new to Melee I would love to see a Pikachu or Jigglypuff guide, considering I love those characters in Ultimate and would love to learn at least 1 in Melee.
I started playing this year in January and thanks to practicing I'm now fully capable of winning against other people every now and then I've always had a soft spot for Marth since 2015 but I decided to pick up Link because he's so goofy and fun to use.
@@mlg_joe7 it's a gamecube game from 2001, so emulation makes it "free" and odds are, your pc or laptop is significantly more powerful than the 20 year old console the game was made for.
I've only been playing Melee for like 5 days (I still don't have everything unlocked, lol). Idk how much this will help me with Melee 'cause I was a Brawl player before getting Melee, but I'm having WAY MORE fun than I ever had in Brawl (the only time I would say that Brawl was anywhere near as fun as Melee is when I was a casual in that game). Idk what I should practice first (tech like wavedashing and dash dancing, neutral 'cause in Brawl I was good in neutral but in Melee I can't figure out how to play neutral, my advantage state, my disadvantage state, or something else).
I casually play Ultimate with a few friends now and then, and I just picked up my first GameCube, and I could not figure out melee for the life of me, thanks for the tips
@@ronniepereira6196 I know I'm not Humpah but I actually think I like Falco more than Fox (I still play Fox instead of Falco sometimes because of Shine Spiking and "FIYAHHHHHHH!" though)
For me, the hardest part about melee is that it feels like my every input is ran through a tub of lard. The game feels so unresponsive. And the fact that theres to rising aerials with jump+a
idk why it feels like that when the game is super precise and is in fact, not laggy at all. rising aerials are a thing in all smash games, but even less important in this game unless you play shiek and need to nair out of shield, or are a puff player. you should not be hitting the aerial attacks as soon as you can, but as close and late as you can to the opponent, it takes time to get used to playing this game, but i can gaurentee you that once the game clicks and you get it, you will want to eat these very bad, illogical takes
My sister lent me her old GameCube and the games she played on it as when she was younger. She said she wants to play some with me when she visits. I must obtain all Melee techniques and knowledge
Ngl, I played my first few matches and it was actual hell. Moves wouldn't come out and it made the game sluggish. Because of no buffer but the game is fun. (I am spoiled with Smash Ultimate buffer, and my first few games were with Zelda💀)
yeah as a guide this is mediocre and really only addressed tech and a few different things to be mindful of. no shffl or lcancel or options to get oos.
Might wanna adjust the title to better reflect that this is more of a comparison of the games and how their mechanics differ than it is a guide, but other than that this is solid! I'd definitely show this to anyone looking to transition over from Ultimate. I hope your writing continues to be as concise and informative as this video, because this style has potential for some really streamlined guides.
I personally would love a Jigglypuff guide, as I’m looking to learn to play her in Melee. I’ve played similar fighting games and Jigglypuff fits my campy, defensive playstyle. I may be a bit late to the party but idc
So should I play melee? I think it would be more fun than ultimate because it looks very combo dependent And I think it is really cool also it is a lot more technical than ultimate. (Also, please give me your opinion because i suck at deciding)
yes.
