For many self publishing authors and publishers on Amazon via the KDP platform they now have the option of publishing hardcover books. These may be a preferred option for customers for many different types of no content and low content books, especially those such as planners, journals, diaries, 5 year planners etc. They are also a great option for non fiction and fiction authors as well. They are a few important factors to bear in mind and changes to made when compared to the more familiar paperback KDP books. So in this video I go through the process of creating a simple hardcover no content blank lined journal to publish on Amazon. I show you how to go about getting a suitable interior and then show you how to create a simple but effective book cover using Canva. Part 2 to this video will then look at putting it all together and uploading to the KDP platform. Hardcover books could be a great addition to your publishing portfolio and help increase your online money making capabilities.

Thank you for your KDP videos. 💖Thanks especially for including the Hungarian language in the translator. I've been following your channel for almost 1 month with my serving sister who I'm on a mission with in a small Hungarian town. It is much easier with the Hungarian text because our English is not very good.
Besides our ministry, we see online business as an only way to earn passive income. KDP has particularly appealed to us. You inspired us to start this business. Your professional help gave us the encouragement to get started and we have already published several books.
We have a lot to learn, we are going step by step with you. Your presentation of free sofweres and options now at the beginning helps us a lot.
God bless your work, your business, your selfless heart!
    Thank you! 🙏❤

Thanks, Paul, I am loving your videos. I have one question I'm hoping you can help with. I've been using Affinity Designer to make covers as I've been using it for years and find it easy. However, after test printing a cover for a book I discovered the transparent png elements print with a pale box around them when on a colored background. After some research, I found this is common despite the file being converted to PDF and appearing find on the screen. Do you know how to convert the png elements into the right color space for printing? I have been searching online and mostly just find designers saying png is not for print that's your problem you have to use jpeg but that throws even more design spanners onto my plate lol. Any advice for this is very much appreciated.

Hi Paul can you help please I have done this hardback cover 4 times I have the right dimensions 14.034 x 10.417 I get right to the preview and it's short but looks like it's dropped out of the lines around and a white space at the top it 4 times it's done the same. In Canva it looks perfect but it's not in the preview. It's driving me a bit daft now😂😂

Now here is where I am stuffed, where is option to change to landscape so my template will fit exactly ?

    • @kiwibelinda

I switched dimensions 11 x 8.25 to get landscape. I then placed my hardcover template into position yet there is still some white space at the
bottom, now I am confused, shouldn't the template fill the entire white space ?
