  • Recently we came across this beautiful Bentley S3 Continental Flying Spur 1964 at The Gallery in Brummen, The Netherlands. We took the car for a little spin! We love to hear your comments on our videos. Feel free to leave one!

The Bentley S3 is a four-door luxury car produced by Bentley from late 1962 until 1965.
The S3 was very similar to the S2. The most-visible difference was a four-headlamp layout that paved the way for the radically new Bentley T1 in 1965. The interior was modified with individual seats for front passengers and increased leg room in the rear. The 6.2 L (6230 cc/380 in³) V8 engine continued with minor modifications. The power steering was also improved.

My Father owned a two door Mulliner Flying Spur S2 Bentley back in the 70's and 80's also in green. In my opinion the most beautiful car ever built by anyone. He sold it to a dealer in London for a song, as it had a few things that needed to be done to it. The four door Mulliner Flying Spur is also very elegant but lacks the proportional perfection of the two door version.

We speak the same language. But in my opinion the 4 doors has the best design.

Beautiful. Engine sounds better than many but need to hear it cold. Dealer should have parked the wipers correctly.

This has the better engine for sure.
    Design wise I think I prefer the s1 and s2 Continental. 👍

    A 2 DR. IS A CONTINENTAL, A 4 DR. IS A FLYING SPUR

Time to check the head gaskets?

wholeNwon Funny you should say that. The only problem I have ever had with my 1964 Silver Cloud III is the cylinder head gasket.

@@mscott3918 Not funny at all but expected. Later turbo models with the old push rod V8s were even worse. As I recall, they usually lasted about 50K depending on driving style. And that's an "engineering" disgrace. How long have you owned your car. Yes, I know the postings are old. At least you're lucky you don't have an early SC II. But they are truly beautiful cars.

Was that the speedo flickering in the end shot?
Otherwise it's a stunning example and beautiful colour. I'd forgotten what a high ride height it has.

I believe the color is called Brewster Green.

Nobody makes cars like the English.

stringer 2295 It's true, at least in terms of luxury cars and sports cars. Now just a few manufacturers are left and most of them are foreign owned. But those foreign owners are smart enough to let their British engineers and designers continue to determine how Jaguars, Bentleys, Rolls-Royces and Aston Martins look and drive.

Thank God.... However, aesthetically speaking, the two finest bespoke autos ever built were the Bentley S3 Continental and the James Young Cloud III Drop Head Coupe!
