My favorite Forgetful Jones moment was when he shows up and he's suddenly remembering everything flawlessly. Everyone wonders what's going on. It turned out that Forgetful Jones forgot that he was forgetful.
That's sounds funny as hell.
Forgetful Jones was one of my favorite Muppets from Sesame Street.
That is the funniest thing I've heard this week. This show is genius.
"Man with alzheimer's forgets he had alzheimer's; remembers everything"
Eric Stoverink forgetful was always my favourite 🤠
i went to high school with karen prell - we went around and did puppet shows for elementary schools. and she went straight from high school to jim henson productions, tv and movies. i'm so proud of her.
Alatina Thucklemuggin wow! that sounds so amazing, it would be cool to hear the stories of the shows that both of you did!
That's incredible! Sounds like she has an awesome life.
Alatina Thucklemuggin how cool!
that’s awesome
Wow
The bit with Ernestine imitating Ernies laugh still makes me genuinely smile. Its super cute.
The discontinuation of Don Music made me angry when I first learned of it. He was one of my all time favorites as a kid. I loved the rewrites and the frustrations. I took piano lessons too but it only took one good head bang to realize it wasn't a good idea.
"Yankee Doodle stayed at home, a-cookin' for his pony..."
@@audreyseddon9749 "Put fat Spaghetti in a pot and called it Macaroni."
I loved Don Music too.
Ouch
Don always got a laugh
Brad is the cutest forgotten muppet. I remember as a kid his reaction to the shark bath toy and could totally relate.
Love that skit even all these years later.
They actually made a (hilarious) episode where the Veggie Monster rumor hits Sesame Street, and Cookie's words to the press are conveniently twisted and/or taken out of context to further support the rumor until he settles the entire thing with a musical number. I love that they actually handled the whole thing in-universe after it blew up IRL.
I loved that episode! It was one of the few new "Sesame Street" episodes I tuned into this year due to the whole rumor annoying me.
How about going Meta Meta sometime to be very sad
I didn't even know Cookie had a cousin.
Ah yes the one with Mario Lopez. That rumor annoyed the bejesus out of me. I loved how they handled it. And I noticed some people shut up after that.
@@coyoteartist
Wait, Mario Lopez? ...Wasn't it Matt Laurer?
I always liked Forgetful Jones. The Oklahoma sketch always killed me, especially when Kermit practically lost it near the end of the bit.
I'm fond of the telephone sketch with Kermit myself.
AAAAAAAAA-KLAHOMA where the wind blows gently down the plains-
CUT! CUT! CUT!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
EEEEEEEEEE - KLAHOMA
Ok, I gotta finish it out:
IIIIIIIIIIIIIII-KLAHOMA!
@@jccw227
What? no - UUUUUU-KLAHOMA?
I will always remember you Forgetful Jones, don't worry, I don't expect the same from you.
We Will Always Remember Forgetful Jones And Someday He Will Remember Us
I'm at the point in my life where Forgetful Jones is my spirit muppet. My memory is terrible.
I like the idea of having a spirit muppet. Mine is probably Wembley.
Your The Opposite Of Me,I Remember Almost Everything!
I remember forgetful Jones. If I ever forgot something, my mom would call me "Forgetful Jones". "Ahyut! I forgot!"
"Whats the name of that song?
Still makes me smile or even laugh even after 40 odd years!
sing ,sing a song....
I think I remember my mom telling me that Cookie Monster was becoming "Veggie Monster" and my 4 year old brain was like "okay"
Children are much more accepting than adults.
I don't remember Veggie Monster.
Joseph Clegg it was only a rumor because of one 2005 episode where Cookie Monster learns that other food besides cookies exists
colleen ryan that’s silly because Cookie Monster eats other foods all the time. There’s a song about the letter “D” and Ernie says “D-d-d-d-dinner”. Cookie Monster in the background eats a sausage
Cherie Barbee i stopped watching sesame street almost 15 years ago i’m not updated on the lore
Bert's nephew Brad! I totally forgot about him, but that bathtime sketch brings back a lot of memories.
Omg me too!
I remember the bathtub scene when Ernie put all those toys in the tub, it wasn't enough room for Brad.🤣🤣
Me too
Bort
@@matthewsmith3078 There it is
Forgetful jones was always my favorite underrated character. He was so lovable even if he forgets some things. "Play along games and songs" is a video I always remember.
Don Music is so relatable
I totally understood why they discontinued him, but I liked his character so much!
Don Music was hysterical and a delight to watch. It's a shame he got discontinued
Oh, heck- I forgot all about Bart until this!
"I'm aghast!"
"YOU'RE NOT A GUEST, I'M A GUEST HWAHHWAH HWAH!"
Ahhh, Don Music and Forgetful Jones...
Forgetful Jones reminds me of that elderly relative that has early onset dementia.
@@Super_Mario128 What are socks again?!
I remember Elizabeth, she was adorable character, and her cat too.
So many of these characters are so awesome and should be back . Ernestine, brad, bart , don music . I remember Farley from my childhood. Forgetful Jones was HYSTERICAL so funny in the "Oklahoma " sketch. I liked Elizabeth and her cat would love to see these all back
That sketch is one of my very favorite!
I remember Forgetful Jones and that funny ass song, "What's the name of that song" song.
I remember that sketch where Bert gives Brad a bath. That has always been one of my favorite Sesame Street sketches. And I also remember Ernie's cousin Ernestine, Buster, Clementine, and Forgetful Jones. I should since I am 39 years old.
Its funny, but I can still remember just about every Bert and Ernie skit I watched as boy in great detail. Being born in 1982, I had no idea that some of the skits I was watching where from the 1970's until I discovered Muppet Wiki. Forgetful Jones did teach me about how to use my memory, along with providing some laughs along the way. Glad to hear he made something of a comeback.
oh I remember that one too it's the one where ernie and bert give Bert's nephew a bath and try to find some bath toys for him that is until ernie shows Bart a shark toy and then that's he starts freaking out thinking it is a real shark that ernie was holding.
I loved Don Music, hitting his head on the keys was so funny.
Awwww..Don Music I loved him! So melodramatic!
This is why I love classic Sesame Street. The characters were so endearing and hilarious
OH MY GOD ERNESTINE WAS. THE. CUTEST. I was in law school when Murray Sparkles was a thing but damn he's cuuuute too.
Don Music was one of my favorite especially when he hit his head on the piano
I loved Don Music. How did I forget about him for all these years? Thank you for reminding me and giving the character's name, which I never knew.
I remember forgetful Jones. I loved his sketch where he sings about fixing a bucket XD
djlamar2 That might be the same or similar puppet, but "Hole In the Bucket" is Henry, not Forgetful Jones. I LOVE Hole In the Bucket!!
I know they made an announcement when Sesame Street decided to retire Don Music - loved him and I still remember some of his songs. Forgetful Jones was also very lovable. Both characters were flawed and showed me that not everyone was perfect, and that’s okay. I remember this one time that Forgetful sang a song to Clementine, and he couldn’t remember half of the song. He just kept singing, “Oh my darling, Oh my darling.. oh my darling, Clementine..”
Loved them then, and still love them now.
A few you've missed included Aristotle the blind monster (Richard Hunt) Feringetti Donazetti a hip blue muppet who rhymed a lot (Richard Hunt and Kevin Clash) Cyranose de Bergerac the intellectual poet with the long nose and the short temper (Jerry Nelson).
I think they will add it in Part 3.
@Fu Frank I doubt it, because as the creator stated in Part 1 he’s doing this listing/series in alphabetical order (a shout out to SS teaching us the alphabet) and all those the OP mentioned would have been listed by now.
To be fair their are a ton of muppets. It makes sence he would miss a little
Bart is actually Bert's brother. Love these videos! Thanks for the memories!
Can't wait for Harvey Kneeslapper
.... and Herbert Birdsfoot!
Dexter's puppeteering is honestly amazing to watch. I feel that he would work much better now, where his head and mouth could be moved remotely while the singular actor inside focuses on the juggling.
Don Music's departure from Sesame Street was in my opinion no surprise since every time he screwed up he'd bang his head on the piano and the impressionable kids who watched Sesame Street would end up copying Don Music's head banging action.
So no wonder Sesame Street no longer shows Don Music.
Wasn't Don Music related to Guy Smiley, the television game show host? They look so much alike, except for the hair.
Yet a new dance craze would be born years later...thanks to Don Music!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I ACTUALLY remember doing that as a kid! I banged my head against a toy piano at my daycare because I’d seen it him do it on Sesame Street. LOL
Maybe because I wasn't so impressionable as a kid or just weird, I recall seeing one where he didn't and was annoyed they ruined his character. For an overly observant child, I could be blank on the fact kids really did emulate things.
@@josephclegg3562 -- Same puppet body, I think. And he sounds a lot like Scooter (thanks to Richard Hunt). Scooter and Skeeter's frustrated composer dad, perhaps? ;)
To be fair, Deena had two dreams of "Playing" when she grew up: either as a clarinetist in an orchestra, or in Major League Baseball.
I definitely remember Elizabeth and Little Murray Sparkles. They have such a charming innocence which I remember fondly. I hope they both come back to Sesame Street someday.
11:14
Brad’s shouting noise would later be reused in the 2004 US entirely 3D-animated theatrical film “Shark Tale” where Oscar is pretending to fear Lenny.
I can't thank you enough for making this..
Elizabeth was on Elmo's world! I LOVED Elmo's world when I was younger, so I recognized Elizabeth immediately from watching that one episode about pets- also i act like her now with my own cat
The puppet was brought back once more as Cookie Monster's niece, named Cookie Niece. She was like Alice in terms of energy and destructiveness.
I remember seeing elizabeth and her cat on elmo's world the old elmo's world episodes specifically.
A another wonderful video.
wow and awesome Sesame Street Muppets.
What about Roosevelt Franklin? He even had his own theme song!
This is the one I was waiting for!
They'll add him in Part 5.
Yeah. This list is organized alphabetically.
I'm so glad you included Forgetful Jones' song at the end-- I didn't recognize him on sight, but I DEFINITELY remembered that song!
Don Music!!!! Wow!! What a blast from the past! I can totally relate to his songwriting process now as an adult.
Ernestine's laugh will forever be part of my childhood memories.
Ironically, I don't remember Forgetful Jones.
Awsome I really appreciate you going over the history of these retired sesame street characters
16. My man.
Don Music was so funny he needed a break though after bashing his head in that piano a dozen time he probably got brain damage afterwards. I like Forgettful Jones when he was doing Oklahoma and was doing A-E & I klahoma 😂😂😂😂😂😂
They could have kept him around just instead of Smashing his head on the piano he could have put his hands or his arm over his head like he was laying down on his arms like a pillow. In retrospect it's kind of silly now it's too bad they can't bring him back. Wilson AKA Richard Hunt was the only guy who could really make that work. In other words he could get in there and sell sell.
Worth the wait!!
These videos are awesome
Don Music - one of my favorite.
Just found this series today and watched the first two parts back to back.I really love this series. It's a lot of fun to watch.
Dexter reminds me of well...me. I juggled throughout high school. When I saw Dexter here I couldn't believe there was a muppet like him. Awesome!
Brad and Ernestine kind of fell into the uncanny valley for me; there's something odd about smaller versions of Bert and Ernie. I wish Don Music had been shifted to the Muppet Show crew, because Richard Hunt being super dramatic is always gold.
Some of these Muppets were my favorites as a kid
jakeman251011 same but I love forgetful Jones
@@doesanyonehavesomeorangesl9413 i liked him alot as a kid
Same here
Your videos bring back some of my fondest memories of Sesame Street.
Little Murray Sparkles has got to be the most adorable name for a cat I’ve ever heard
your muppet drawings are soooo gooooood
im so happy these videos got recommended to me, theyve been getting me thru a hard holiday
all the warm tingles! I love them all
your channel is growing insanely quickly, it took 2 years for me to get as many as u have now, congrats
Thank you! I'm really pleasantly surprised.
Great stuff! Subscribed!
I’m loving this. I hope Freddie the wonder horse will be part of the next portion of the series.
After watching this I got a tad-bit teary. I miss these childhood memories so much. Sometimes I wish I could go back to that time - before I knew of all the pressure and problematic things in life.
Elizabeth and Mary Sparkles are totally darling together! They should definitely return. I love that there were several characters on this list who promoted playtime. That is indeed a very important part of growing up for a child!
i love the muppets and i love this video
I really love these lists and can’t wait for part three! However, I’d just like to say that Dexter actually kinda freaks me out 😂
Thank you!!!!
A LOT of work went into this, thank you so much for this trip down memory lane. I remember having a sesame street record when I was young... in the early 80s, and oscar was yellow or something in on the cover. I actually clicked on this to see Don Music (dunno why, but I always thought his name was Sam Melody. Must be that alternate reality). And from personal experience, I can tell you there is NOTHING more gratifying than dropping your head on piano keys in frustration. The noise is very cathartic. Meanwhile, 14 year-olds are playing frog baseball and watching MTV. Kinda not fair that this guy got the cut.
I LOVED Don Music
I even pretended to be frustrated & would often "bang" my head on the couch
Who did that?
Who didn't do that?
My favourite Muppets on Sesame Street (in no particular order) were The Tweedle Bugs, The Purple Two-Headed Monster, The Honkers, The Yup-Yup Aliens, Simon Soundman, Hoots The Owl, Placeeto Flamingo, and that blue guy that always gets served by Grover I like the other ones too but these are just a few of my favs
I LOVED Don Music!! He was the best!! Oh and Brad and the shark was priceless, his voice killed me!
Loved Don and his unfinished Songs LOL CLASSIC
Forgetful Jones was last seen in the 40th season in a flashback (hey I remember Colambo) also I think i read that Forgetful is going to show up on the 50th anniversary special (and oh btw I do recall seeing him in the background in Elmo Saves Christmas). well that's disappointing knowing Bowie didn't do that
great job
Forgetful Jones & I both born in 1980 ;) when you showed him Clementine and his horse I definitely remember seeing them as a kid. Thanks again for the awesome video
I loved Don Music!!
These have been some very interesting videos so far. I can't wait to see what's in store for the other parts since there are a few Sesame Street Muppets that I remember that I don't think appear anymore like Frazzle ,Lefty the Salesman, Little Chrissy, Little Jerry and the Monotones, Stinky the Stinkweed etc.
im 45 years old, still spooked by frazzle. little crissy was nice
cookie monster loves cookies but he'll eat almost anything.
RIP Don Music and so many other characters that were my favorites... *CRIES... and moves on*
I loved Forgetful Jones and Don Music! Nice to see them again.
I'm only just now discovering your channel, but I can't wait for part 3!
I just love those Muppets too!!
The countess did appear quite recently. She appeared in an episode of the Furchester Hotel.
Not that countesss
@@chrisarnone9906 Oh, sorry, I didn't know. Thanks for correcting me
@@guilhermerossi807 that countess and was a cousin of his
By the way when did Elmo leave Sesame Street
@@chrisarnone9906 I don't think he left
Heading to part 3
Great series man. I forgot about a lot of these guys. I can't believe I forgot about Biff & Sully.
Forgetful Jones was a favorite of mine in the 80s.
I used to love Forgetful Jones and Don Music, to they were hilarious!
Also, the Brad bathtub scene is totally a classic!
Sesame Street THE ROSIE O'DONNELL SHOW KIDS GUIDE TO LIFE LEARNING TO SHARE
Deena and Pearl both made cameo appearances along with a lot of other Sesame Street characters in the wedding musical scene in Muppets Take Manhattan. I actually wouldn’t have even noticed them if it weren’t for this video.
I remember Uncle Louie the policeman and Charlie (Farley-Jerry Nelson). Was Uncle Louie Frank Oz?
Charlie was Frank Oz Louie was Nelson.
Appropriately enough, I forgot about Forgetful Jones!
Loved Don Music and Forgetful Jones
I just got done watching your first video, and if people can't sit through 3 minutes of you not only introing such a long list but reminiscing a little bit then they're just impatient. Nothing wrong with listening to passion.
0:20 - Colambo
1:38 - Countess Dahling von Dahling
2:48 - Cousin Monster
4:31 - Deena and Pearl
6:31 - Dexter
7:55 - Don Music
9:23 - Elizabeth
10:30 - Ernestine and Brad
12:16 - Farley
13:17 - Forgetful Jones
Oh my that Colambo/Nick and Nora Chicken crossover brings back memories. Probably responsible for my lifelong appreciation of Kevin Kline's work.
HOLY COW, FORGETFUL JONES! I remember this character fondly for two specific reasons; one was this really funny sketch where Kermit the Frog is trying to film the musical "Oklahoma!" and Jones kept mispronouncing "Oklahoma", I always found it super funny how Jones chose to pronounce Oklahoma and how Kermits patience deteriorates throughout the skit. The second is this VHS tape, I forget what it was called (I know, ironic isn't it?), but it featured Elmo and Big Bird trying to remember the lessons learned throughout the tape. At the end, they quizzed him on everything, to which Jones kept saying "I forget" (except when Big Bird asked what his name was, to which Jones said "Big Big"). When the quiz ended, Jones said "I WON, I WON! I forgot everything!" but when he was told he was supposed to try and remember everything, Jones said "Oh... I forgot."
Really fun character, wish they'd use him more.
11:11
"How about a shark to swim?"
*Scared Owl Noises*
Amazing
I've been enjoying this. I want to add to your assessment of Elizabeth, I wonder if her disappearance from the show had anything to do with the fact that her actor went on to play Kate Monster in Avenue Q.
I initially thought that, too, but upon checking the dates, Elizabeth stopped appearing frequently after 2000, and Avenue Q didn't even start off-Broadway until 2003, so there's still a gap.
I love how that rumor about cookie monster implied that
A) veggie cookies and other diet treats weren't a thing around the time the rumor started
B) Cookie Monster doesn't eat literally everything regardless of its edibility as shown in several sketches over the years. Heck I remember a reoccurring sketch where the punchline was that Cookie would eat the letter of the day (that definitely wasn't made of cookie).
I think a counting emergency is when everyone has a whole lot of stuff to count and need help counting it
