Hey Colin...I like your retrospective. I played Timmy and co-created the show with Dina Fraboni and James Murray. Phil was the show's story editor and he also played Mr. Wisdom. Glad you liked our show!! The series will be streaming on the new Peacock network so now you can watch all the episodes. Jimini Biblets!! Tell all your friends!!!!
Really excited to hear you liked the video! I'm sorry for not crediting you, Dina, and James properly--for some reason, I was convinced Phil was the creator and didn't bother to double-check. Glad to know the series will have a proper home on streaming! I'll be sure to spread the word! And thanks again for the wonderful show!
I literally only know about this show because of the trailer for it that came with the "Land Before Time" sing-a-long VHS I used to have. Thanks for teaching me all about it.
Omg me too! I never saw it except on that trailer. I remember it sang something like "it's a wonderful day to laugh and play and be with my friends!" I loved the land before time though.
I discovered Fraggle Rock as a preview on a Disney Sing Along tape and Groundling Marsh as a preview in some Barney tapes and The Brave Little Toaster as a preview on Robin Hood.
It wasn't the sing along VHS but Land before Time 2 VHS ad that we saw this on. I was just at my parents with my brother and asking if my niece was still too young for the Land Before Time (she loves dinosaurs and is almost two) or if it is too scary still. He said they tried but she just didn't seem interested. My dad said it may be too scary anyway and I suggested the sequals since they got more kid friendly immediately out the door. My dad asked if they were relaly much more soft and I mentioned rhe second one had an ad for Timmy the Tooth before it played as evidence. My dad asked "What the Hell is Timmy the Tooth?! " I wish I had seen this and just played it for him rather than trying to describe it myself. Lol
When i was a kid i was afraid of the crypt keeper from tales from the crypt so when my mom frist pop in the vhs of this show i thought the goon was the crypt keeper so i was scared of him lolol
Is it just me, or does the Cavity Goon look like The Grinch? I mean, he's got that haircut. That face. Whatever it is, it's a little too bear-like for a... Oh. Has he snuck into my diaper? That's gross. Why did I think he was a...Giant Big Hair? Do they get bigger when they become the Age of Yarn Balls?
I thought that this show was so underground that I was basically the only person who knew about this show/movie especially because when I was younger, whenever I would talk about it, everyone looked at me like "what the hell are you talking about?????" But anyway, thank you so much for sharing this video with us. This video brought back so many memories and holy shit the nostalgia.
Back in elementary school, I had this class called “Library” once a week. If the librarian wasn’t there for the day, the substitute would pop this into the VHS player to keep us quiet. The only episode I can remember watching is something about the character Sydney needing glasses cause he only had one eye. Apparently the Rice Crispy elves appeared in the tapes and announced Timmy from what I recall.
When I was in elementary school, the library had VHS tapes behind the desk, although we never watched them. It wasn't until I went to the public library that I watched it. Molar Island was the first one I saw.
5:09 Great, now I'm going to have the "Putt Putt Travels Through Time" theme stuck in my head all day. 🤭 Thanks for making this. I never saw this show, but we had a tape (I think it was Babe?) with a commercial for it, and I've always been curious what the show was actually like. (For example, I did always assume it was an after school special about dental care. Oops!)
I couldn't agree more! This show NEEDS a digital re-release.I owned the Big Mouth Gulch tape as a kid,and the song "It's Storytime Again" has stuck with me ever since then. TYSM for uploading this.
This show seems interesting it's sad to see it ended abruptly with only 10 episode being made. I'll see to it that I give this show a watch as soon as I can.
I’m 30 now talk about thinking back to how my 5 year old self really enjoyed the show thank you 🙏 for bringing back happy memories considering the pandemic that is going on now
I just got finished watching your Tim Burton video and saw this in my recommendations and instantly freaked out. I watched it in school once and never saw it again until today. Thanks for the nostalgia. Ps I used to think this guy was a piece of bread...
I can’t help but wonder if this was originally created as a Dr. Seuss series but was rejected by the Geisel estate. Timmy’s face looks similar to the Cat in the Hat, while Cavity Goon is clearly inspired by the Grinch.
I know this was from 2018 but thank you for making a video about this! I used to watch this as a child and almost had all the VHS tapes. I wish more people talked about this show because it was so weird, funny but loveable Also I wish this came back! I miss it
I never once watched this show, but I got a VHS copy of Flipper (1996 film with Paul Hogan and Elijah Wood) which had a pamphlet for Timmy The Tooth videos.
i remember seeing ads for this on my rugrats vhs tapes! i never got a chance to watch em but man just seeing timmy's face is such a nostalgia bomb,,, ;-; colin i love your channel so much
Wait, Rugrats? Timmy is owned by Universal and Nickelodeon is owned by Paramount (Sony Wonder did the Nick tapes at the time). Do you mean Rugrats episodes tapes off broadcasts?
@@matthewweatherford6566 it's possible? my parents did record a lot of nickelodeon for me as a kid. i could've sworn it was an orange vhs tape, but then again childhood memories are unreliable
Ah, I miss this show. I had all of the videos and, according to my mom, I watched them so many times the VHSs were getting worn out. It's nice to see I'm not the only person who's seen this show. It's cheese and was made for kids under 7, but it was still a great show.
Exactly, and what you said (including the pedestrian bit) was completely accurate. I remember watching the dream sequence in "Lost my brush" and gaining a little anxiety towards the Cavity Goon. Also, the clip with Ms. Sweety trying to jump into Goon's arms, even though I knew what would happen, it made me laugh.
I always enjoy your wonderful retrospectives. This one is very well written and upbeat! Timmy the Tooth is a wonderful character. He is very sweet and adorable. I was a Barney fan growing up and there’s something still special to me. Barney isn’t for everyone and Timmy isn’t for everyone, but for those of us who they connect to the most, they are always special to us and that’s what truly counts!
I remember this show! I think my family had one of the vhs tapes of it when I was growing up. It’s fun to see that someone else also remembers that this is a show that existed
I remember seeing the villains on the side of a cereal box in a cupboard in my grandparents kitchen and being scared of it and having my grandma close the door so that I wouldn’t see it. I thought the villains (especially the green one) were scary looking.
Do I remember? I can't forget about this. My room was behind the huge CRT Tv back in the day and this as well as Pinocchio would be on full blast because of my brother's deafness. I miss those days but not those moments.
I vaguely remember in preschool being allowed to watch one episode of Timmy the Tooth before nap time and getting to watch a Tom and Jerry tape some kid brought in because the teacher had a nervous breakdown and left the building.
Yo. I was NOT expecting the Sunny Peak theme out of nowhere! Also this show i never watched. I only saw it on my LBT2 vhs. But this retrospective was legit. Great work!
Thank goodness the whole show is streaming on Peacock. It's just not listed as "The Adventures of Timmy the Tooth", and the episodes are out of order, but whatever. As long as it's there, it's fine.
This makes me so happy that I'm not the only one who remembers this show! I remember buying vhs tapes of this show at big lots way back when. And i remember they came with small window stickers. Also i had no idea the puppet maker made alf!
I'm glad there are studios introducing today's preschoolers to old shows and not just rebooting them to be like other generic kids shows. Some classic 90s Nick Jr shows have recently been remastered and added to Paramount+ in case today's parents wanna introduce their kids to Eureeka's Castle or Little Bear or other classics and don't think kids have to stick to their own generation. I'd rather little kids watch Timmy the Tooth than CoComelon or Baby Shark. Heck, I'd rather them watch Barney or Teletubbies (especially the old version) than Baby Shark or CoComelon.
So this brought back a memory about a scary dream I would have when I was 8 and now I know where the dream came from, this show, but I thought it was a commercial doe
This memory got unlocked for me recently. I use to have a vhs of episode 5 that my mom bought for me at the flea market and I would watch it alllll the time .

I'm not a 90's kid but I remember my parents play like one specific episode (which I'm pretty sure was the birthday surprise one) when I was way young at the time. They most likely kept the VHS and Timmy the tooth episode around from when my Elder brother was a kid since he grew up in the 90's. Man although I'm still quit young I can't believe this popped into my head, I wonder if my parents remember playing this for me when I was younger? I'm not saying parents shouldn't introduce their kids to anything modern but I would appreciate it if they could give me a chance to introduce them to old things.
Thanks for the video. I like this show. I think it would've made more episodes had it premiered on Nick Jr instead of straight to video. Heck, they might've made a feature film had it lasted longer.

The poster of the DVD collection of this series has been sitting in my dentist office since I was like 8 years old and I finally figured out what that crazy tooth was up to.

One time, my parents reported to my therapist about my habit of telling lies. She then took me to the library and told me I could pick out a tape. A few minutes later, she took it away from me and said she lied. I remember having a meltdown in the car on the way home.
this brought back a lot of memories for me. i loved this show as a kid, but nobody i asked knew anything of it, so i just assumed it was sort of a fever dream or something.
I remember this show, i watched those first two episodes as a child...sadly i wasn't too big of a fan outside of liking the Goon's song in the 'it's a wonderful life' dream, based on what I hazily remember. I also hate how that theme song just stays in my brain forever.
For those watching this in May of 2022, a channel on Roku called Peacock currently has all 10 episodes of Timmy the Tooth for free. They have a different order though than Colin does. My brother and I saw 7 of the 10 episodes when we were kids and are enjoying seeing the few we missed now. My brother is even planning to buy the whole series if we can.
I had the "Big Mouth Gulch" vhs tape and it came with some stickers which I ended up sticking to my tv. some of the stickers, namely the sun, Bubbles and the Timmy The Tooth logo are still stuck there to this day.
Y'know, I distinctively remember getting one of the Timmy the Tooth VHSes from the library years ago when I was younger. I don't remember which one, but I think it was the one where Cavity Goon steals the sun because I recognized that "There's Nothing Like a Cloudy Day" song.
when i was 3 i had a few timmy the tooth tapes and on one of them there was like this halloween music video and the only thing i remember about it was a guy in a werewolf costume walking across the screen does anyone know what that was about
I think I may have seen Molar Island once when I was a kid. I think they were playing it at a doctor's office or something. What's weird, though, is I remember the threat being an erupting volcano instead of the island sinking...
@@stevennorthrup5790I read that "The Brave Little Toaster to the Rescue" was originally going to be the second movie in the series but "goes to Mars" was completed first and the company decided to release it first.
Lost My Brush was the only one I ever saw of Timmy the Tooth. I saw it a number of times when I was a little kid, then promptly forgot about it until a few months ago.
Besides seeing the trailer on a Land Before Time VHS, I think I only caught one episode, or part of it. I think the tooth was falling into a portal and later was with the old tooth character.
I was born in the 2001 but I used to watch Timmy the tooth on VHS. I think it was the birthday episode. I recall seeing an ad for rice krispies on the tape and I'd get a little scared by the puppets
Timmy was born from the mouth of a brontosaurus? Now I'm imagining a dentist dinosaur from the show Dinosaurs, removing Timmy from a kid brontosaurus and then saying to his assistant: "We're gonna need another Timmy!" the same way Mr. Lizard would when killing off a kid named Timmy in his show-within-a-show Ask Mr. Lizard.

Used to love this show, would eat up every tape at my library. I mostly just watched any puppet entertainment I could.

This Goon's got one of the best voices I've ever heard
For those watching this in May of 2022, a channel on Roku called Peacock currently has all 10 episodes of Timmy the Tooth for free. They have a different order though than Colin does. My brother and I saw 7 of the 10 episodes when we were kids and are enjoying seeing the few we missed now. My brother is even planning to buy the whole series if we can.
I remember this show but I was already past the age range for this show. But that is so cute, the brush is a dog. What a better way to get brushed.
I had the "Big Mouth Gulch" vhs tape and it came with some stickers which I ended up sticking to my tv. some of the stickers, namely the sun, Bubbles and the Timmy The Tooth logo are still stuck there to this day.
I watched this on VHS with my sons. We loved it!
Y'know, I distinctively remember getting one of the Timmy the Tooth VHSes from the library years ago when I was younger. I don't remember which one, but I think it was the one where Cavity Goon steals the sun because I recognized that "There's Nothing Like a Cloudy Day" song.
when i was 3 i had a few timmy the tooth tapes and on one of them there was like this halloween music video and the only thing i remember about it was a guy in a werewolf costume walking across the screen
does anyone know what that was about
2:27 Hamtaro: Ham Ham Heartbreak
I NOTICED THAT, TOO! THE NOSTALGIA MADE ME SCREAM!
my family rented most of these from the library. I loved this show, not as much as Professor Iris but a lot.
Oh my goodness, I used to watch professor iris all the time when I was younger!! I’m so glad I’m not the only one who remembers that show
@@georgerobertson7010 He always reminded me of a male Miss Frizzle, with a magic chalkboard and more concern for his students.
mokaevans skeleton from professor iris kind of reminds me of gonzo from the muppets
Please do more videos about some other direct-to-video puppet series like this like Toby Terrier! I grew up with Toby and his canine crew!
It’s now on Peacock
I remember seeing the preview of Timmy the tooth on the land before time on VHS.
I think I may have seen Molar Island once when I was a kid. I think they were playing it at a doctor's office or something. What's weird, though, is I remember the threat being an erupting volcano instead of the island sinking...
A complete series collection was announced for Blu-Ray and DVD!
When? Did you make this info up or is it true
George Robertson I don’t know if it’s true or not, but a complete series collection would be awesome!
5:20 isn't that from putt putt travels through time?
Also, that theme song was pretty fun.
funny how it says that timmy came from a brontesaur whenever i saw ads for the vhs tapes i always saw them on land before time tapes
This show was a literal fever dream
I still remember the blockbuster in store ads.
I’ve never seen this show but back in 2007 I saw a trailer for it on an old “The Land Before Time 2” VHS from 1994.
I've never heard about Greg the bunny- are you maybe planning to do a video on it or know one I could watch?
Also, this show gives me major spongebob vibes
The reason the second episode felt like a pilot might be because they might've written that one first.
That…actually makes sense
@@stevennorthrup5790I read that "The Brave Little Toaster to the Rescue" was originally going to be the second movie in the series but "goes to Mars" was completed first and the company decided to release it first.
Lost My Brush was the only one I ever saw of Timmy the Tooth. I saw it a number of times when I was a little kid, then promptly forgot about it until a few months ago.
Besides seeing the trailer on a Land Before Time VHS, I think I only caught one episode, or part of it. I think the tooth was falling into a portal and later was with the old tooth character.
God bless your soul for this. Thank You
Glossed right over the only one my kids loved, Spooky Tooth.
I know, and it's a shame because that was my first episode. I honestly could not think of much to say about it, though.
I was born in the 2001 but I used to watch Timmy the tooth on VHS. I think it was the birthday episode. I recall seeing an ad for rice krispies on the tape and I'd get a little scared by the puppets
They looked like they crawled from the uncanny valley
MY CHILDHOOD. This is amazing!
Lizard.
I think I saw a few of those Timmy the Tooth video tapes when I was younger!
This wasn’t a fever dream?
It’s all a dream. Wake up
Wolfeye Media please, not when I’ve been drinking, man
