  • This is a quick gameplay showcase of all moves for Ryu in Street Fighter 6. This includes his normals, specials and super arts. This demonstration will give you a quick preview of Ryu's move set if you didn't get a chance to play him in the SF6 closed beta. He also has multiple taunts.

      Clear and concise, great video. Only thing missing that I noticed is you didn't show that denjin powered od hashogeki crumples. Oh and this isn't an omission, but I found in the beta you can actually press fwd, fwd+ mp+hk to skip the drive parry animation and go straight into drive rush and is actually a couple of frames faster than the traditional method. For me at least it made Ryu's drive rush pick up after ex donkey kick, charged lv2 a lot more consistent.

      If there is an open beta can you add these along with the movelists:
      - Burnout stance
      - lvl3 super and CA on whiff, not the full cinematic animations.

    3:38 : most badass level 2 super in the beta imo. The particles effects look beautiful, especially charged and with the denjin, and the sound design is perfect. Looks like he makes your stomach explodes.

      Ikr denjin hashogeki is really underrated
      Imo it's almost as badass looking as his level 3 super shin shoryuken.
      I like how when they zoomed in the camera recoiled a bit at Ryu's explosion of energy, and he started generating and concentrating a large mass of energy instead of channeling a ball of energy between his palms like Shinku Hadoken. The charge-up of the energy ball is pretty sick too

    I just realized that CA Shin Shoryuken silences the music! That's so cool considering Mu no Ken! Which is like ignoring every distraction in order to achieve peace

      @@DCFHazardRebornChannel The one difference I noticed is that in Sf3, he has his front hand open like he's going to parry. In SF6, He'll have it in a fist.

    This games going to be so sick, I couldn't get the betta because I don't have a ps5 but I've bought my son one for Christmas so I'll definitely be buying this game 😊

    No Shakunetsu at all? That's new.
    Seems like they're focusing purely on Lightning as Ryu's element of choice here.
    (Akin to Pocket Fighter, IIRC)

      You control it! It's a different taunt if you hit all the buttons in neutral, while holding right or while holding left. Guile also has a fourth crouching taunt.

      His B.HP and F.HK are repurposed from previous games, the close heavy punch from SF2 and a cancellable hopkick like SF4 Evil Ryu’s, respectively. The Hashogeki is a new special move which was Ryu’s V-Reversal animation in V, and has its own unique properties that make it very unique to SF6. He also got a manual Denjin Charge he has never had to enhance his next Hadouken or Hashogeki, and a super based on his new Hashogeki. I think that’s what’s new.

      its a stance a lot of the older shotos do. gouken does it, ken has animations of him doing(in very old sf games), even goutetsu did it

      Ryu did it first. In 1992 there's offical art of Ryu doing it. Akuma literally copied Ryu's mannerism including the back turn kanji pose that Ryu did in 1993.

      Haven't tried it as one but it links after S.MP which make it really useful for combos.

      @@VesperArcade too risk for a 1 frame link and a extra of 200 dmg...but yea, it can be linked...just don't know if the range of the link needs to be too close to connect it

    Poor Ryu, he is boring imho , he only has that 1 new move , Hashogeki. Ken always has more interesting moves. Maybe give the hop kick from SF EX or give him a air fireball whill charged up.

      Ryu has a hop kick with FHK. Also, Ryu is not flashy and stylish like Ken, we can agree on that, but I wouldn't sleep on his hashogeki and denjin charge. The denjin charge enhancing all variations of two of his specials, including the supers, and the hashogeki being, amongst other things, an option to use to defend against DI nevermind a move for more combo routes is no joke.
      That said, I would've loved to see his season 5 VT2 in the game.

    What is up with negative edge in SF6? Did you try doing a jumping lk with Ken or Ryu and buffer tatsu to see if it worked? Curious if things like dhalsim’s air fb will be able to take advantage of negative edge and tiger knee motion

      Negative edge works the same as the other sf games, the only difference in sf6 is that you have the option to turn it off.
      To answer your question though, negative edge works with air specials and as such won't cause a jumping normal to come out if you do it below the height restriction. You still can't cancel air moves on whiff, so you do have to be holding the button from before you jump if you want to do the air special with a negative edge.

    On the jumping MK you cross over, but no cross-up pop up like with the jumping LK. Is it not a true cross up?

      For some reason, he doesn’t step into the kick anymore. Now he just slides forward like he’s on skates.
      It’s funny because Marvel Infinite of all games got the move perfect.

      Dp is the directional input, others have the same input +k so they have to name it like that for clarity.

      @@franvisuales3441 I have seen Street Fighter V. In the "A Shadow Falls" story mode, Ryu was able to overcome the Satsui no Hado by finally achieving the Mu no Ken. His V-Trigger, Denjin Renki, allows him to unleash his second Critical Art, Denjin Hadoken. Not only that, his normal Hadoken becomes electrified as well.
      If you think about it, Gouken, the creator of Mu no Ken, also has a Denjin Hadoken in Ultra Street Fighter 4. So, it would mean that Mu no Ken is often associated with the element of lightning and of course, void.
      Mu means nothing, which is synonymous to void. And the void is often associated to the vast sky, outer space and aether. It kinda make sense in a way considering lightning comes from the sky before striking the ground. Also, if you take a look at Ryu's move list in Street Fighter 6 (assuming if you have one) and go to his Denjin Renki section. The description says: Envelop your fists with the Power of Nothingness, enhancing moves such as the Hadoken and Hashogeki. Leaves you wide open, making the timing of its usage critical.

      Yes. EX Donkey Kick and then Uppercut does work. Also, EX Donkey King canceled into Lv2 Super gives you enough time to charge it up

    This is what happens to Ryu when Tekken graphics merge with Splatoon hit effects. I dont even recognize street fighter anymore since alpha and 3rd strike golden eras

      Ok. Literally everyone whos played it said its amazing and will be the first of a new generation of fighters. The fact that everyone ive seen even people who dont like SF or were disappointed in the SF6 trailers all said that the game was one of the best fighters theyve ever played during the beta is just insane

    Ryu needs more. I get that he's carrying on the traditional style of Ansatsuken, but stepping into SF6 his play style is becoming rather cliche. Ken's got crazy kicks and command runs, why not give Ryu rekkas, counters, or command grabs???
