Ah! This is worse than getting Rick Rolled! 🤣🤣🤣
The word homeowner also has the word meow in it.
From what I understand the Cybertruck is not street parked but in a drive through lane for Raising Canes in Austin, TX. This doesn’t change any of your assumptions, the car in front of the Cybertruck is facing forward as you thought.
I work at a national lab. We can’t discriminate in our hiring process, which makes it weird hiring people who need a security clearance who could probably never get one. We ask “do you think you can obtain a security clearance?” And if they say yes, we can’t use that in our hiring decision even if we personally don’t think they can get the clearance. We have to just hire them, give them time to apply for the clearance, and if they fail to get the clearance we can fire them. It’s a frustrating process, and one that could easily be done incorrectly.
In the meantime, they have a foot in the door when they are not supposed to.
@@heythave yeah... and i wouldn't be surprised if bad actors tried using that to keep an eye on what we are doing, but they don't have any access to any classified information. That is all pretty well locked down. Mostly when you are hired with no clearance, you are just kept outside the work area and given busy work. Sometimes a lot of unbusy work. Haha. It can be hard to find work for uncleared. Luckily at our lab we have a lot of science work that is not classified to put new people on right now.
Also, in the space industry, can't they only hire people with US citizenship? I remember Musk saying something about that years ago when he was asked at a conference. But I think you're explanation of the security clearance makes more sense.
im sick of compassion
God bless America and the idiocy of wokeness.
There is equipment on the site of the "Tesla Drive-In" in Hollywood. It's around the corner from me! And they've put up green obscuring fabric on the chain link fence. That generally means "something is going to happen" soon. The Equipment does. The green fence doesn't mean anything except they decided to make it look less like an abandoned lot. In LA [Hollywood is a part of LA], it can take a YEAR for residential permits. I don't have any way to know how long for business/commercial permits w/o any residential component [so much of what gets built here is going from single family/small multi-family to town home mini-split lot units or to condos or to apartments and if it is along a major street [and this is on Santa Monica Blvd, old Route 66], any development will have a ground floor with rental retail space of some kind. In fact, an old car dealership just to the E of the Tesla site is just finishing up as a large retail/apartment/hotel complex. The dealership had been many other things for about 30 years, but all somehow ICE vehicle related.
Price for the Cybertruck might be a lot higher than initially announced but I'm pretty sure this thing is going to kill it ! 👍
I look forward to Tesla Daily every day.
You mean daily?
Thise rear brake lights are extra confusing as indicator lights should be orange 🍊 allowing red indicators is known to increase rear end collisions
Not good from a safety stand point t 😕
People need to learn proper following distance by counting seconds.
Rob is one of the best and most informative people when it comes to Tesla on UA-cam. The only thing is he throws me is every time he says 'hey' he sounds like Kermit at the start of the Muppet show.
Well, generally speaking, he is talking to a load of Muppets! (Myself included, before you say it 😉)
I'm getting seriously excited about the CyberTruck coming to fruition, even though my own reservation is (by my estimate) at least 30 months out (probably as much as a year or two more). To me CT is a fantastic symbol of the forward thinking nature of Tesla, as well as Tesla's practicality aspect. Sure the Roadster (when built) won't be particularly practical, but from my viewpoint the vast majority of Tesla vehicle sales are (even if for the more well-heeled purchasing public still at this point). I am also very stoked about the next-gen Tesla (hatchback?) which will be built in Mexico (and elsewhere) for the masses to purchase. I plan to by one of those as well (CT for the whole family, and the Next-Gen Tesla for my daily driver). Great time to be 2+ years out from replacing the family's vehicles.
The little camera views on screen suggest there would be 3 of them, so 4 total including the big main one. The one that is cut off appears in the centre of the main one thus leaving space for a view further to the right. The cut off one also looks to be the rear camera as the white car is visible
"ITAR generally prohibits foreign persons from collaborating with US citizens on projects pertaining to items on the USML without export licensing..."
Yes, unless those refugees become naturalized citizens, they are locked out of certain high sensitivity jobs. Everything about SpaceX is high sensitivity. Even a janitor can do damage by committing espionage and possibly installing hidden cameras and listening devices.
That, evidently, includes dish washers. I looked through their jobs once, and found a job for a dishwasher/kitchen hand. They needed to be a US Citizen due to ITAR regs. Probably a blanket clause.
That's not true. It prevents them from getting new data from a US company, it doesn't prevent them from providing data to the company.
@@ChrisGWarp Yeah, unless they're building a dishwasher with a supercomputer, that's a big 'not how the law works'. Since a bunch of NASA personnel are non-US-born... Might that have crossed their minds their reading of the law wasn't how anyone was applying it?
@@CrissaKentavr well, you never know what engineers discuss over lunch… 😉
Thanks Rob!

There’s another video at night that shows the Ct with the F150 wrap light bar in action and i think it looks great the way it functions when the brakes are used
That's the drive-thru lane, it's not parked, so yes that seems to be a front camera.
Just returned a Model S loaner and picked up my M3, to each his own, but I had forgotten how much I prefer the 3 to the S.
Why's that?
@shepherdknoll As I will soon be shopping for an EV, and have had my eye on the Model S for 10+ years, why do you prefer the M3?
The S is really big, not nimble like the 3. The S is dignified, a business man’s car. The driving experience is different, you would need to drive both for a number of days to get the difference. My 3 is a LR 2018 and I really can’t tell the difference in acceleration between it and the 100D that I just turned in except the 3 is somehow smoother and sportier.I made the same remark, about my preference to the service rep and he just nodded his head in agreement .
Another model 3 owner told me that she preferred it to the Y also. She said it was easy to park, easy to zip around. It made her life less stressful.
@@doittoit00I would get the model S if you can afford it. Roomier , better suspension, better tech, better range. It drives like a gliding hovercraft , so smooth. If you need a referral code, let me know to save $1000.
You can tell from the arrows on the ground and the delineators that the CT is in a drive through lane, and others are pointing out it shows it in Drive on the screen, and it's at Raising Canes restaurant.
Thanks
Not a fan at all of red turn signals at the back. Turn signals should be orange/yellow (like they are on the front, from what I’ve seen).
I don't think this was mentioned but looking at the camera view, it also appears that there are now 3 camera views at the bottom as opposed to the usual 2. They potentially added the back view in the middle between the side views, since the top has the front bumper view now? We may even be able to expand the ones we wish like in Sentry Mode.
left right back = 3. Plus the main (front in the pic) am I missing something here?
Throw the DOJ into Boston Harbor! What idiocy!
wow that was crazy to read… national security much??
DOJ should maybe try reading the ITAR laws
Great work Rob. We need pictures of CT VIN #’s. Likely a glare not colored ambient lighting.
At 0:50 the front bottom edge of the driver's mirror seems to be illuminated in red. Turn signal/hazard repeater? It's off in the other picture.
I see panel gap on the front driver door as well as the window gasket at the B pillar….
I got a Plaid Test Track invite this morning, but got the dreaded Error when trying to RSVP!
the ct is in drive per the swipe on the left... pretty cool front camera. the video also looks like its from a lower angle than the top of the window.
CT , you steer by Swipe.
Biggest news: Control pad for lumbar support is present in Cybertruck. At least on the driver's side!
Ford F-150 platinum looks super cool
"Street parked" ... has Rob never been in a drive thru? That Cybertruck is obviously in an active drive thru lane. Conclusion is correct though: that has to be the front bumper cam. We can see the car behind it in shots and it's not going through the drive thru backwards, so that's not what's on screen.
Looks like steering yoke buttons are backlit.
Look at the size of the "knob" between them and well (reflection)
Best
I'm amazed every time i see this channel only has 235K subscribers? 😮
Rob hasn't been at it as long as you think and a lot of folks probably aren't subscribed because they listen in the Tesla or don't know they can subscribe without notifications.
Wonder if the front bumper camera is a high resolution fish eye,, that has been “flattened” or transposed to look like a front facing camera in the image but has a dual purpose of looking left and right for FSD?
that bumper cam seems to be very wide angle high FOV considering how much of the silver car is in frame
What's with the discoloration on the driver door?
Black Model 3 police cruiser with a big *911* plastered on the side....
I know!
But it's still unintentionally(?) trolling Porsche!
The ct is in a drive through
Rob
Illuminated buttons on the steering wheel?
Are they "Haptic" or "conventional"?
(Conventional would actually be a step forward!)
Looks like some kind of knob between them unless it's a very large scroll wheel?
That's a possibility for use with gloves, or "Builder hands" (😉)
And here is Rob Maurer everyone
Rob the goat
Is that a side marker on the side mirror??? Cybertruck really needs a side marker signal light.
Those "small" Cybertruck brake lights look to be about the same size as Model 3 brake lights, and those aren't a problem. They meet federal requirements.

To get your Cybertruck to Raising Cane's, you gotta get in that left lane. Thats a HARD left!!
I wonder if Tesla has to a fsd update to input the cyber truck maybe because of rear steering
I’m like “I hope the new CT features aren’t spotted, like polka dots, I’m not sure I could handle that.”
Could be worse.... Pink? 🤮
Is the steering wheel in a usual shape, neither round nor yoke?
A half assed cross of the two.
It seems like FSD improvements remain endless. I would love to see a target set by Tesla, when they would consider FSD ready for robotaxi. So far FSD remains a great play for Tesla supporters and a far away dream for shareholders.
The target is the level of safety regulators ask for. It's being figured out on the fly, because nothing like this has every been done before.
You can consider FSD ready when most drives will be zero intervention, and safety related interventions became practically nonexistent.
Also a lot of loose ends will have to be tied up, like fully automatic parking.
🚀💪😎👍TSLA👍😎💪🚀
I don't understand why Tesla doesn't show the front camera view while pulling into park, I had a Camry that did this back in 2019 and loved it, there's no reason why they can't do this on all Tesla's.
While it's not a camera there is a display showing the distance to the nearest object. Should the car get to within 300mm a large Stop in red apears. Imo this is better than a live view.
@@markkennard861No it’s not because those things can be faulty.
If I’m the one driving why can’t I be the one looking?
@@Glenhh mines not let me down. Its really accurate. I trust it fully. Also if you want to see in front of you, you can look out the front windscreen .. :)
totally disagree, live camera view would be much better@@markkennard861
Wen hw4 fsd?!
I believe it was in a drive through at raising caines and not street parked.
Truck is going through drive through, not street parked.
That Cybertruck is not street parked. It was in the drive thru of Raising Cane's. 415 W Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Austin, TX 78701
It’s not street parked. It’s a gd drive thru!
There seems to be more buttons on the steering wheel confirming possibly similar controls like new model s and x and more over they seem to be lit up.
Looks like "conventional" buttons and a larger control between them (look at the circular reflection)
Sell the damn truck already! I feel like I've been waiting my whole life for it. 😵
BMW is years behind Tesla in so many areas, but BMW has offered customizable ambient lighting for years
Mmmmmm
Bliiiing!

Yesterday I decided to look up data on accidents occurring while cruise control was active. A LOT. If the various agencies want to shut Telsa down for a handful of accidents, then all cars with even basic cruise control need to be taken off the road and modified to stop its use.
With about 2 million preorders for Cybertruck, there will be enough orders that will actually commit to max out production for at least a few years, even if the price is high. I doubt the release vehicle will be over 400 miles of range.
Probably that or less. Their 4680 production troubles will limit battery pack size. But if they get three years of sales from preorders, that gives them time to refine and improve "at the speed of thought" as Sandy Monroe says. This includes 4680 production ramp and battery chemistry. Similar to model 3 introduction, it will not suprise me if Cybertruck has issues with the introductory model, both in manufacturing ramp and product quality, but both will improve relatively quickly. I believe the main concern here is still centered around the 4680 battery ramp. If high-speed production continues to be delayed, I wonder if it won't be usurped by some new battery tech that is proven out with better and/or cheaper specs. There have been a lot of battery announcements lately. Of course, those competitors will also have to prove that they can ramp where the 4680 has stumbled. Elon has a history of not being afraid of cutting loose that which is not working and going a different way. He has expressed an understanding of the engineering fallacy of trying to optimize a part that just needs to be scrapped. I still wonder if the 4680 might not fall into that category. Of course it might be hard for him to buy another battery company with a great potential product, like he did Maxwell. If Elon wants it, they may not want to sell. Elons desire for some new battery tech, could be seen as a declaration of near unlimited worth. Might have to pay billions instead of millions. But it is hard to put a limit on the value of the best battery tech. So if Elon can't buy a better tech he may just continue to push the 4680 to be the best it can be. The 80% rule really seems to work. If your product is 80% of optimum it's good enough to be a commercial success. Almost emulates EV charging. Charge/build to 80% put it in drive and go for it!!!
Most people overlook the fact that it is likely that the vast majority of orders are just people trying to reserve multiple trucks for the FSD.
The actual order book is big.. but a far cry from 1 million.
@@Custo911 Good point. Still believe it would have to be a really really terrible
product to not max out production for first few years. Then the question becomes, within three years can they refine it into an absolutely great product at a good price? The model Y of the truck world. I think they probably can. Who knows, it may be closer to that at it's release than I think.
@@Custo911 Far cry from 1 million? You know that how?
@@pathfollower The first model year is always the problem year. I would never buy a car in it's first model year.
@@TheEvilmooseofdoom noone really knows, but that is my actual opinion. The *refundable* reservation is supposedly caps FSD price. If you are a Tesla fan, you should have seen how many people were placing orders of 10-50 trucks.
TESLA ♥️🤍
Should be renamed to DoSJ.
Red turn signal?? WTF!! use an amber/orange light for the turn signal. The centre stop light needs to be taller and brighter.
Double rows of lights might work.
What did they order at Raising Cane's? Who's a fan? Who is not?
For businesses doing DoD work, it is far easier to only hire US citizens
ITAR generally prohibits foreign persons from collaborating with US citizens on projects pertaining to items on the USML without export licensing
No business should be allowed to hire illegals, full stop. Do it right or not at all. Not a citizen so no rights and no aid.
or People in General w/ a USA Security clearance.
Shocking!
Meanwhile, the US finds they have Chinese nationals working as spies in the US NAVY recently. WTH?
Ford really missed out not naming that black lightning
Funny how that looks so much alike the wrapped cybertruck one.
I think a lot of people are waiting for the highlander. It’s probably cannibalizing demand. If tesla made a normal looking pickup with the some nice design they would have 5 x the order flow
The Ford Black Edition F150 is a wrap. Am I crazy or is this Ford putting a vinyl wrap and a badge on a track and calling it special edition?
The DOJ should be deeply embarrassed. What a waste of time & resources.

interesting how the timing of the lawsuit litigation will likely correspond with the next election.
CyberTruck @ Raising Canes Chicken drive thru

Thanks Rob! JP speaking tomorrow and a report that has come out today sucked the air out of the market ahead of his speech. This man is not going to get invited to any parties any time soon. LOL .
Cyber Truck hype train continues as well as a new Easter Egg in the last photo Elon posted which has another car behind the CT. Word on X is split between it being a model S and m guess is a new version of the Model 3. I tell you the amount of detective work going on is worth of CSI. LOL.
Have a good night everyone tomorrow is a BIG DAY!
I'd just be happy if Tesla could just push out FSD to HW4 cars. Waiting!
Remember the recent message about CT specs?
He answered "When we're ready!"
.
You should assume that's the default attire/ answer moving forward.

Were you ever upset/ perplexed when Tesla (Elon) was pushed to answer a question which turned out to be "Optimistic", resulting in negative press?
Is Jim trying to "Out-wrap" Tesla?
A matt black car, mmm doesn't sound that good an idea, I wonder if the insurance will go up?
Only with a yellow stripe down the middle.
DOJ’s employee who did it should face justice himself. There are defense laws hello.

I'll need a hint..
Nah, just reflections.

Don't like the break lights and red blinkers are not legal in Europe
Could be a software tweak in later units. Who knows?

I thought as a non American I couldn’t work at spaceX because rockets are considered weapon technology ?
It’s the only thing that gets us up to the space station. If Elon hadn’t gotten SpaceX off the ground, we Americans would have no way to get to the international space station given the current situation with Russia.
Yes, every inch of SpaceX is secret technology.
You can be in the US Navy and sell information to China as a Chinese national though, apparently.
@@isthatatesla No, not Chinese nationals. They are US citizens but of Chinese descent. It could have been any of the Navy sailors who needed money. But, I had a feeling that the Chinese approached the two Navy sailors by grooming him using a “rich” Chinese friend who wine and dine him, knowing that he was in the US Navy. Then, when the time came, some money was given as good faith and then the request for sensitive information was made. Any sailors could have fallen for that and it’s just that the those two were easier to approach.

I see a good number of Cybertrucks being rearended because of the nature of those tail lights
Why?
You don't know how the human brain works then. Look up how the third brake light was invented. Tesla system will work well as the drastic change from light bar to 3 distinct and brighter lights will more easily catch the attention than the bar simply getting brighter.
Stop following too closely.
The Cybertruck will be one of the greatest product failures of all time. It will become an immutable stain upon the Tesla brand, and a long & enduring stress on the stock. Releasing the CT into the world (as opposed to leaving it to our imaginations!), will prove one of the greatest business blunders, ever.
You will design their next vehicle.

Well, yes, I got that. However, it's an appalling term - and where's the 'um' part of asylum?
7:43 maybe this is SpaceX's way of getting round or going up against ITAR. by "causing" a law suit against themselves so that they can be "forced" to employ people who are foreign to the US who have the skills that SpaceX value.
