Just bought a house a few months ago. Found out we had bad mold/water problem in the basement unfortunately. The money I’d spend chasing down the sellers I mines well just fix the problem. Between you and hydro armor I’ve been able to see what systems work and don’t. So pretty much dig to the bottoms of the footer and make sure the trench is At least 10 inches out from the footer. Corrugated 4inch pipe pitched to a sump pump. I’ve had a few quotes where the salesman tries to say it goes on top of the footer and to use pvc pipe. I just smile and throw there quote in the trash when they leave. You guys already saved me a lot of money since I know what to look for. Thanks.
PVC is better. Guys like this just talk about corrugated being “self-cleaning” to justify them saving money on materials.
Just got mine done ✅
I’ve received several quotes on waterproofing my basement. I had one quote me with this system that they pulled out. Happy I didnt choose them.
Smart process
Best wishes
Thank you for all the informative videos. Can you recommend any company in Virginia?
How would you do this system on a mono slab?
Any chance you can recommend a good company in Oregon?
Your drain board is it the sheeting roll and you have to cut it to desired width?
Thanks for sharing. Your company is called,"American Dry Basement Systems" Exactly where are you located? What state are you operating out of? Would really like for you to take a look at my basement foundation as soon as possible if available? Thanks in advance!
Your method makes so much sense. Do you have any recommendations for companies in Tennessee that can install this type of system? Thx!
Sorry. We don't know anyone in Tennessee.
You've convinced me! I love watching your videos. I just purchased a house in Upstate NY (Albany area) and I'm looking at getting the existing french drain looked at, because I'm not sure it can keep up with the flow. It looks like I'm just outside your service range. What kind of questions can I ask contractors to figure out if they know what they're doing? Any advice on how to select a good contractor? Better yet, do you know any providers in the Albany area?
Thanks for the kind words. Unfortunately, we are unable to consult at this time. Watch more of our videos and find a reputable contractor in your area that does similar installations. Good luck.
Great video! Extremely informative! Do you know of any companies in Chicago?
I don’t know anyone in Chicago. Sorry.
Thanks for the videos. Quite informative. I do have a question:
What is the ideal/recommended PITCH to achieve? (Using 4" perfd corrugated tile)
House roughly a rectangular basement with the sump pit nearly midway on one long edge. If highest point was directly opposite side of the rectangle, its approx 75' each way to pit (~150' total system). 2nd sump pit not really an ideal option.
I had a sewer (both storm and sanitary) license. Every 100 feet I would apply a drop of 6.5 inches minimum but not more than 8 inches. Hope this helps.
I have a problem wt a wet basement
👍
Thanks.
I think your system is a very good one.
Any chance you spread out to include Eastern PA (Pocono to Lehigh Valley areas)?
If not, how can we who need a real basement waterproofing system like yours, find a suitable professional in my area and what questions and such do we need to ask and such?
No plans... at the moment. But we can recommend American Waterproofing Inc. in PA. Call (717) 938-2272.

Thanks!
Excellent video. Most of the contractors I have met with want to excavate the house to fix cracks in the foundation, replace weeping tiles and install Platon waterproofing material. One guy wants to install a Waterguard system which is what you tore our in this video guaranteeing it would work. Do you know of any contractors in the Ottawa, Canada area doing your method? I have looked for some but can't seem to find any.
Thank you!!
Thank you. I'm glad the video is helpful. Contractors are a dime a dozen, and so are waterproofing systems. In some locations, it can be challenging to find a qualified, honest company to handle your water problem. I sympathize with your situation. The best thing you can do is ask lots of questions. Ottawa is way out of my territory, so I don't know any contractors there. I wish you the best.
Have you found anyone in Ottawa, ON?
@@HarshPatel-qr3nv yes I have. I can send you his name if you're still looking for. Had the complete house excavated, cracks fixed, weeping tile replaced. Big job but worth it. No more water issues. Guy was really good too.
Older house or newer? So you went with exterior drainage over interior
@@MaDGriZz78 1987 build. Went with exterior excavation, replaced weeping tile all around including garage and fixed cracks in the foundation. Happy with the results so far.
Is there ever an instance where a gutter system like the ones you pull out are used, and work well?
My guess is they could be installed in basements with little to no water problems. But, I've never come across operational gutter systems. The homeowner only calls when the problem is too much to bare.
is there a way to finish a basement with this type of drain system already in place? dry wall, wood floors etc?
Yes. You can finish a basement with Sheetrock walls and wood or tile floor with our SuperDry system in place.
In drier climates like Utah do you recommend this system? We do have water in our basement when it rains but it doesn’t rain a ton. Water seems to be coming in under where downspouts come down. Does the pipe eventually deteriorate and get sediment in it?
It doesn't matter where you live, dry or wet, water will get in if it can. The initial exterior waterproofing applied during construction is no longer working and you can possibly have a crack somewhere in your foundation. The drainage pipes we use never deteriorate. They will out live you. Sediment can collect in them if not properly installed with a pitch. A properly pitched corrugated pipe will produce a hydrodynamic movement that will remove suspended solids all the time. That is why you see them all over highways, roadways, and terrain all over the world. It works and does a great job!
I have a lot of iron ochre in my basement, does that 4" corrugated pipe work well with that? And is it possible to install drainage ports In that system for flush outs?
How do you seal the system? Dimple board that protrudes from the floor, how do you seal it off ??
No. It is there to catch any water seeping through the cove point and allow access to discharge water from a dehumidfier, etc.
Who do you recommend in Wisconsin? I wish you worked in my state!!!
Have you found anyone in Wisconsin?
Hello, I live in Maryland so too far from you guys but could you please tell me how much I should be charged per liner foot? The company that came today wants to charge me 32k for 108 linear feet and 2 sump pumps. Is it a reasonable amount?
32K is not reasonable. I knocked over my lunch reading that quote. It sounds like they don't want to do the job. It should be somewhere at half that amount. Find another company that will promise to not ruin your foundation's stability.
@@AmericanDryBasementSystems Thank you so much for your prompt response. I scheduled inspections with 4 more companies :)
Also, thank you so much for your very informative videos !
I got quoted less than 14k for 108 linear feet in MD, hopefully you shopped around?
Please tell me you do Long Island
Sorry. Long Island is off limits for us. We don't work further south than Yonkers.
@@AmericanDryBasementSystems may I ask why off limits? Also when do you recommend getting some type of waterproofing system? I’m about to close on a home on Long Island. At inspection we saw that the rain water run off needs to be fixed to bring water away from the home as well as making sure the grading around the home maintains a pitch. We saw some of the white marks (effervescent) on the basement walls but doesn’t seem to be activity leaking water. The patterns seem isolated to near window well areas and downspout corners. I would eventually want to finish the basement but wondering if I should just fix grading issue and downspouts or go a step further to do waterproofing with sump
Long Island is too far from our nearest warehouse. Efflorescence is always a sign of water penetrating the wall for a long period of time. It can come from surface water during heavy rainstorms and go across your sill plate. Waterproofing outside or inside cannot stop surface water. Grade your landscape to prevent it.
Need you guys in Long Island or a referral
Sorry. We are not licensed for Long Island or know reliable contractors there.
What state are you licensed for?
R u guy in nyc
No. Sorry.
How do I find the right company? I want you guys but your too far!
