    Excellent video Todd on what can go wrong with an 85 year old Golfers transition! Since joining your channel, I have made several changes in my golf swing. One of them being going from a weight transfer to a weight shift which helps me to stay more centered on my golf shots. I like the drill you showed at the end of the video about speeding up the golf swing with driver as well as irons! I will definitely incorporate this into my pre-shot routine. Well Done Todd! Keep up the Good Work!!!

    Appreciate the channel, I’m experienced as you say , but only in age, just turned 62 and just started golfing , looked at a lot of channels, but you seem to actually care about new and older golfers. Looking forward to following.

    Fred here. In your instruction on curing a slice you mention swingng inside out. At set-up do you square the club face to the swing line or the target line? Thanks.

    Hey Todd. Bob from NJ. 68 and only playing golf for about a year so have a lot to learn. My backswing on my driver I’ve actually slowed down recently. Not for distance but accuracy. Is a slower backswing shorter distance but more accurate or is it all in my imagination?

    • @USGOLFTVshow
      @USGOLFTVshow  8 місяців тому

      Good question. Most golfers will see more control with a slower swing speed, however most "experienced" golfers need more distance. Here is a good video to watch ua-cam.com/video/rIkzz7kjShU/v-deo.htmlsi=77uXwese1o-_LXVC

    Thanks Coach, wow great video and how important it is for all golfers.
    Last night I went to the Par 3 to practice and did very well.
    1st 9 holes I played 2 balls and the 2nd 9 I did 1 ball.
    The 2 things I was concentrating on was pivot to the trail leg (left I am) and that initial down swing to keep my trail sholder lower (not over the top).
    My oh my 🎉🎉🎉 when I it the ball it went miles 😅.
    Somtimes the ball went toooooooo far lol 😆.
    Night golf is so different than day golf, my bloody shadow was over the ball many times, but I used The Force to do it hahahaha hahahahah.
    Just a bit of humour 😀.
    To be honest, I must of duffed 4 shots out of the 2 rounds.
    I truly wished I played this since I was young, coming from the Caribbean I played cricket 🏏 and to a high level.
    What a magnificent sport and relaxation game.
    Have I ever mentioned that I use certain aviation decision making skills to approach each hole and shot with?

      @USGOLFTVshow  8 місяців тому

      Great post here. Night golf is something we want to experience! What are some things from aviation that can help in golf?

    • @Airbus320lover
      @Airbus320lover 8 місяців тому

      @USGOLFTVshow with regards to decision making for something very important I and many people use:
      TDODAR
      Time if critical (playing by myself, people behind are pushing or with fast low handicap players.
      Diagnose wind, distant shot shape needed.
      Options, club selection, and shot length.
      Decide, what I want and stick to it.
      Assign, my mental game to a confident state.
      Review, one last look and DO IT!
      Coach I do this a lot at work flying a plane all through the flight. I don't sit and just watch the fuel burn.
      In essence, TDODAR comes to me like 2nd nature.

      @USGOLFTVshow with regards to night golf, big things are:
      Vision if wearing contacts or sports glasses or regular ones.
      Picking a point to release is so important because to know the starting line of the ball.
      Have a person standing to your left or right to visualise the balls starting and hopefully end line.
      Depth perception of the fairway and rough area.
      Properly evaluation of the greens, night time it could be damp, how many people will touch the grass and evaluate it?
      If walking a course, even if it's night, keep hydrated, not just water but healthy sports drinks or adding tablats to your water.

    Omaha, Ne- 58yrs experienced. Todd, on the 1st tip (hip bump) will this work with the driver. This is where I struggle, the start of the downswing with the driver. If you have done a video on this topic, I would like to see it. thanks.

    Bob from Indianapolis and I am 77. I do want to know which part of the Golf ball do you focus on at address?

    • @ChrisKeramidopulos-ue1qv
      @ChrisKeramidopulos-ue1qv 8 місяців тому +1

      It depends. With the irons hybrids and fairway woods off the grass you want to be looking just ahead of the ball because you are trying to collect/compress the ball through your swing. This may also help with your follow through. With the driver/3/5 off a tee you want to swing slightly up on the ball so it may be best to be looking at the back of the ball.

    A backswing that’s too fast will certainly destroy everything that comes after. That’s a guarantee for most amateurs.

    • @USGOLFTVshow
      @USGOLFTVshow  8 місяців тому

      Really depends, many golfers tend to swing too slow early and then get quick from the top. The key is to build speed over time but to get going early
