I have had mine for about 45 days I will say I am a pioneer fan but this thing sounds better than my s11 and this unit and effects are spot on. I have already made a bunch of total remixes on it . Once I’m on this thing I can’t stop playing on it due to the fact it makes me want to be more creative. The jog wheels are perfectly fine ,so many people say they need moving platers Not at all with this.
That was my thoughts I have my Technics if I want to play with moving platters. I do feel the same as you in it being a lot of fun and a creative unit.
@@jamesslaven4103 I have an S11 also and I liked the Rane 70 sound and Rane Four sound more. Only thing my XDJ XZ was better was the microphone Input and feedback reduction.
sold my Pioneer XXDJ-XZ and got the Rane Four. The features and effects are unsurpassed. still getting use to the layout from the Pioneer muscle memory but I love this unit.
I have my Rane Four and I luv it, I'm a mix DJ and the things I can do on this controller from day 1 is unbelievable this will be my main board for the next couple of years.
questions; do the buttons get in the way. the buttons at the front, in front of the jog wheel? are the other buttons in the way, the 1s at the back. do accidently touch them? would you rather a rane 4 over any other setup? does it work with any computer?
I've had the rane four since launch and I like it, but there are a few areas that might not suit all Djs. 1 The platter has no adjustment for tension and personally it's super smooth but a little heavy for long scratch sessions. 2 If you are a traditional mix DJ coming from turntables, this thing can get a little confusing with all the options especially with stems. Sometimes less is more but it's good fun, well built and has run perfectly bar a few crashes on my base model steam deck.
Honestly I am loving the stems and that was the sole reason why I wanted it so bad. Along with the Rane build quality and sounds quality. I’ve had controllers for over 10 years so the layout felt very familiar and at home. But I can understand how it isn’t the same for everyone. Hope your enjoying it
I really wish the platters were just a little bit bigger :0 Def not going to upgrade to this from my rane one... even tho I hate the crossfader on the rane one bc of the long ass cut-in (even on the tightest hardware AND software settings).
They feel great to me. The Rane One platters are 7.2 inches the Rane four are 8.5. But my last controllers were all Pioneer so it feels pretty familiar.
Hey bud have not yet tried the FLX10. I have always been a pioneer guy and prior to using the Rane Four I was using and XDJ XZ and DDJ SZ and I like the Rane more. Amazing build quality and sound. And I love the layout as well.
@@madjc13 Do you use serato or record box? Rane was made with only serato in mind and it is perfectly mapped for serato. It’s full metal build with very nice paddle effects and amazing sound quality. Microphones don’t sound good, I’m not to sure how the FLX10 microphones are. If you like rekord box maybe the Pioneer is better for you. Look at a pictures of both and see what would feel more natural to you.
So you dont need the audio face reloop ? See i was going to use the audio box on my SL12 decks but i could run it thru the controller only to use external effects

Brilliant I was itching to hear what someone with an s11 said about it as I hate pioneers crap sound quality

I'm going from a DDJ 400 but just ordered a Rane Four. I'm so excited to transition to the Rane/Serato world.
I still have the XZ at home to DJ and use the Rane 4 for gigs love them both
I’ve always had pioneer equipment ,technics etc but I love the Rane four so much I recommend 100%

does it work with any computer?
I never had an issue with any bottom. And yes any computer that can support Serato
If the plates of the rane 4 were motorized….i would have bought it.
Coming soon the Rane performer!

In terms of built quality rane four but in familiarity flx10 they are both lit and awsome
@@regiesupena8084 I found the Rane Fours layout pretty easy to get used to. And I’ve only used pioneer mixers for over 10 years.
Im about to buy one or the other, and both seem really good. I dont really know what to do 🥲

So if you run turntables with this setup you will use the Rane 4s interface. And you can assign effects to all 4 decks
How do the phono preamps sound?
Very good similar to the Rane one. I do feel Rane has a warmer sound compared to pioneer. But that is subjective :)
Excellent controller. I replaced my Pioneer Sx2 with the Rane4. Only issue I am having is not able to hear my mic while connected via the booth out
That is normal on all controllers I believe. To keep feedback down. Mine does same thing
You can change it in the menu boss. Hold shift and press the button on the bottom left of the lcd screen… thank me later
@@MagicAck313 on laptop or controller?
@@DJBrianRodrigueson controller check user manual it has an option for mic gain and other things
@@MagicAck313 I stand correct! There is in fact an internal menu that allows you to let microphone output to booth. Thank you
Would you still recommend the Rane Four, seven months later? @DJBrianRodrigues
Hell yeah I love it
