    None of this is unique to detailing. As a small business owner, this is great advice for anyone who is looking to start a service business! You hit on some fantastic points. Thank you!

    Amazing, no-nonsense video, thank you you for covering the insurance side of what you recommend for a mobile detailer to have. So many channels talk about “how to start a auto detailing business” but none of them mention this insurance topic. So thank you Josh!

    • @imjoshv
      @imjoshv  Рік тому +1

      You bet! Insurance is one of those things i wish i didnt need, and its not very fun to talk about it... But it is a huge part in running a business. And the additional types of insurance to cover all aspects are very important! Especially when Im working on Rolls Royce's, Ferraris, etc... I cant afford to cover that haha

    Just for shits and giggles I downloaded that app and wow it's amazing. It's already like 90% setup out of the gate. I just clicked mobile detailer and it was like bam here you go just edit a couple things if you know what your doing and you're done. Even has the contracts for credit card stuff, has a payment method built in. Super nice.

    Good follow on video would be cost breakdown to get started. Just the bare minimum to start. Could do a 3 part series. Kind of 3 tier breakdown someone who wants to start with $500, $1,500 and $3,000. This would obviously be for mobile start up assuming they already have a vehicle.

    A perfect no-nonsense 'get started' list. Great tips. One question, how far of an area do you travel in terms of mileage or amount of time from the shop? Curious as to what seems reasonable.

    • @GageDrums

      It's whatever is reasonable to you.. If it takes an hour to get there.. Add 2 hours of your time to the quote.. If you don't get the job.. It's not worth your time.. Unless you need the business to help build your customer base

    $60 is 20% of $300, but I got you, Josh; not$6. I got you Josh:).
    In regards to the whole tip thing.
    If it's your business and you are doing the work, then why would you ask for a tip when you are getting paid for the service already. I can see of yo7 have other help that's doing the work and it's okay for them to get a tip. Since they are getting paid for just a fraction of the amount that you get for the entire service. Then yes that would be good.
    Now, if you still think that a tip is fine as the owner or even for workers. Then figure a tip that would be fair and build it into the price. Still where you can competitive on the price amongst your competitors as well👍

    If you are offering a course or follow anyone selling a course you need to stop watching them. None of them like to offer valuable information. Also if you are not getting 1 dollar a square foot at minimum then you are wasting your time in this Industry. If you need a list of sellers and buyers of both commercial and residential for contacts and larger jobs and contracts all you have to do is go to the city hall and go get a printout of the city foreclosure lists and boom the perfect start.

    Yelp is only doin what every other business does
    Tend to lying customers first less money less efforts in your favor like if you have a customer willing to pay $300 for 1 car vs someone trying to get the same car done for $150 you will book the $300 job first and if you can squeeze the $150 customer in but they won’t receive the same services or quality as a higher paying customer

    Live your channel and videos brother and can’t thank you enough for all the tips and info you offer. Like you i live in the nanny state that is California and im looking start my own detailing business but was wondering if you make customers sign any type or waiver or contract that protects you from liability or that states you’re not responsible for existing damage. Perhaps something where you list existing defects as you do an intial walk around, kind of like what they do when you rent a car. If you do this it’d be very helpful if you post a link or show your contract/waiver form so we can get an idea of what it should be like.
