  • If the electronics in the door have stopped working, it could be the wiring in the door jamb and is an easy fix!

2000 4cyl. 5spd here. Just swapped my head unit thinking the f/r left channel was bad. Didn't fix the problem. I'll check the wiring! Thanks for the info!

I have never seen a 4 cylinder XJ. Is it an SE?

@ProjectXJ yes, it's an SE. 2.5L (150) SMFI I4 "Power Tech" engine with a 5 spd. 1st gear in 4 low is super crawl. It's great in the woods. Almost as fast off the line as my old 6cyl xj. Gotta downshift to 4th on highway hills though. 😅

Great video. I bought a 98 and neither of the front speakers work and it would be nice to fix them.

Mine has a brown one that acts as negative but at the same time goes to the upper door harness

No wire nuts in vehicles. Get a soldering iron, heat shrink, tape of any kind, hell , put chewing gum on it. Don't use wire nuts

If i said wire nut, i misspoke. I used a butt splice with heat shrink. 🙂

If you have broken wires in your door, you know where to look. Its typically the ground wire because it is so stiff. Some people have a lot of broken wires though.
