The game has literally not changed since (obviously) the last patch. However gaming in general has. It got way more popular all over the world. We will NEVER get a high quality game like bf1 was ever again.
I’m surprised you didn’t mention the single player aspect. While Battlefield has always been focused on Multiplayer, BF1’s War Story Anthology was incredible, showing the world war was an all out global catastrophe with characters from all over, each with unique gimmicks, like one focused on arial dogfights, another on tank brutality, to the horrific tragedy of it all and the people who were sent just to die. Overall, the single player campaign is worth getting the game alone to check out before diving into multiplayer.
Great video. Loved the use of spectator mode and shorts sprinkled in to showcase stuff. Such a shame that's the game's gone downhill for you. Obviously I've been in stream, so I know the pain😅 I remember when Microsoft fixed the servers on the Xbox 360 Cods last year, I had so much fun playing MW2 like it was 2009. Now it's broken again (i.e, hackers, you can't play tdm because mod makers charge for it..) but I was lucky to be able to play it when the servers were fixed. And I'm glad you were able to play BF1 when it was good too. The passion you had for the game is evident throughout the video. It's important you highlighted the good as a contrast to the litany of technical problems, and I think the video's delay was worthwhile in the end. All of your points are valid, but I think you're also experiencing the feeling of burnout which can make bad moments in any game feel 10x worse. For me BF1 is extremely fun to this day and I'd definetely recommend it to new players due to how unique it is compared to the most recent Battlefield titles!
Do not play conquest. Why is this such a popular mode??? Battlefield 1 has to be played in Operations and Operations only. This is the true WW1 experience. It removes a lot of issues he is talking about. Besides the mortar truck. That thing is just awful no matter what. Planes are kept in check in Operations because people will hunt you down if you overdo it.
I haven't played for two months due to problems with my PS4. Flr as far as i remember, operations was most of the time the only gamemode that was active with more than 20 players. But i enjoyed a lot more some maps in Conquest like empires edge. Honesty,if you were used of playing 6v6 games with small maps and you want close combat, operations is the better for you. If you want more in combined Armes (and Horse) combat with big maps with battles that could propably reach 1 hour,Conquest is for you. Or i haven't played for a lot of time that i have been confused

just got BF1 for on sale for 6$, even with all the bad, ill still play it for nostalgia. I remember getting it day one for the ps4 and i had so much fun, even after being an avid bf4/bf3 player. Really is sad seeing the games we've loved being almost discarded by the studio that made them, sure it's their game, they can do whatever they want but there's so many people between BC2 to BF5 that just adore the game they play, they're letting us all down and they obviously don't care. The quality of this video really surprised me, felt like i was in a cutscene or something lol, you earned a sub man, keep up the wonderful work.
18:46 - 19:33 is the most important 1 minute explanation of all time and can be said for EVERYTHING in life that video gamers respect. You get what you give when you are in the big leagues.
Honestly, as a huge Bf fan, Bf 1 is one of my fav, as i love the old weapons and just overall how it works. It only "issue" that is may have here and there is either dead servers (if youre EU), or hackers ( but they are rare) So yeah, id say BF 1 is still worth it to play, or at least to come back to every now and then. The new BF 2042 is kinda mid, sadly.
Good vid of the best fps war ever made imo but i disagree about the movements, bf4 feels a bit dated , this feels smooth and hasnt aged a bit, i think cod games and battle Royale are too cartoony, and it is who can run around the fastest and button mash , bf1 has a nice niche pace for everyone :)
My personal gripe is that theres SUBSTANTIAL evidence that DICE/EA screwed with the server browser in their last update to make it harder to find games (for casual players)... Not to mention the fact they dropped support for the more popular servers. It makes me EXTREMELY ANGRY
As someone who really wants to try BF1 this video was really good because everyone usually just compliments the game, and I wanted to know some of the stuff the game doesn't do perfect.
I have countless hours on this game this game makes me so emotional hours I have played with friends who I have lost to drugs. Friends who I will never play with ever again I was praying that people would still play this game and thank god they do. This game also enlightened us to what some of our grandparents experienced
Just played BF1 again after a year and a half and it's still the best shooter in the last decade+. The movement makes it iconic instead of the typical 360° chaos nonsense games from today. Air vehicle domination is easily combatted with fire ammo, only one guy can completely cripple the domination. When I dominate, there is barely anyone trying to get me down. That's not an air domination issue. They simply don't even try. One guy with fire ammo and you're immediately crippled. The only negative I see for BF1 is the mortar spam and the server admins just kicking you because you're too good.. I don't know why but I don't have those lag issues that you are showing... I also see lots of clips of you where you are just VERY slow to react...
Despite some of BF1’s downfalls, this is a game I will always choose over BF5 and 2042. It’s beautiful, moving, intense and the best FPS game I’ve ever played. Some call it a love letter to the community and I couldn’t agree more. Conquest is a fan favorite but operations is the best way to experience this game imo. I was 18 years old when BF1 released in 2016, old enough to be drafted into WW1 if I were born 100 years prior. With that in mind, playing the opening sequence of this game for the first time was a very powerful reminder of how young these men were to experience the horrors of WW1. Seeing “Clarence Point 1900-1918” and saying to myself “Jesus… he’s my age…” was again a very powerful realization of what these young men sacrificed. BF1 is a masterpiece and nothing can ever change my mind about that
Quality production. Well done! The passion and hope, (also disappointment), you have for the Battlefield franchise shined through. Hold on to that passion, it"s contagious
My gosh, it's so much better on PC. This sounds honestly unfun and tough. One server bans the Ilya, some servers ban the artillery truck from uncap camping, basically *everyone* shoots at planes, clan stacking is a little rare as most top-tier 150s are unaffiliated / randomly distributed among teams, pings are much better controlled (we have 30+ servers on PC on the US East Coast alone) with faster kicks / etc. M&K players aren't an issue, as we're all M&K, tho. I'm quite disappointed that EA / DICE haven't returned to fix these age-old problems on BF1 console. Really, they need more servers + allow custom servers to limit ping, force rebalancing in different ways, allow moderation / admins, etc.
I just found this video and i remember that you killed me with the medic injection thing on ballroom blitz a couple days ago. I first thougt it was a random guy until i saw your youtube name and i instantly remembered 😂
bf1 is a great game and the majority of these problems can be fixed by just getting good. learn the maps and flanking routes, play the guns to their strengths and effective ranges, and familiarize yourself with recoil patterns and you’ll be greatly rewarded
I respectfully disagree. 1. When you compare ping after losing a face off, you’re playing risky in the first place. If you’re positioning correctly, you’ll have the jump on enemies the majority of the time. Its not COD, so don’t play it like COD. Don’t run and gun, point and shoot. 2. The movement isn’t broken. You’re a soldier thats weighed down with gear. You can’t spin a 180 in 1ms and you don’t have rockets attached to your ass to help you jump. Also, mashing buttons and laying down when you want to stand is on you. Movement should be treated as a skill. 3. Bombers aren’t broken. Use VOIP and coordinate, like the game intended.
I respectfully disagree with your respectful disagreement, for a multitude of reasons. But let’s respectfully agree to disagree without further explanation. Thanks for watching the video and have a fantastic day!
@@GetGoodGuy you also mentioned cheaters using mouse and keyboard. I recently started playing BF1 on an ROG Ally and its absolutely doable with PC players when you’re confined to joysticks. You have to adapt your gameplay, but its not too hard to stay in the top 3. Give it a go.
I've been gaming since I got an Atari 2600 in 1980, and BF1 remains one of my very favorite games of all time. Yes, it can be frustrating, but I love it. I hate those artillery trucks too, but my solution is to switch my load out and sneak up on them with smoke grenades, and them get 'em with a limpet mine or rocket gun. I take down planes all day long with incendiary rounds, and/or carry the repair tool and fix the AA guns. I just adjust my class and play style depending on what's happening on the map.
I will enjoy this video after some operations and conquest match in today evening. Battlefield 1 for me standing side by side with Battlefield 4, but in overall atmosphere, gunplay, graphics, sound design, its best in the series. Game industry is really in bad condition right now so i am worried about future of Battlefield. 2042 isn't a bad game, but its a bad Battlefield. So what's next? We have fortnite in Call of Duty (nicki minaj, Messi etc....), do we have it in our beloved series? I hope not.
I still play BF1 regularly, mainly because I don't like BF2042 and also 5 just isn't as good (manual spotting etc) but agree with so many points, ping, maps and mainly not having all game modes available with the extra content maps. I get bored playing the same standard maps, I want more choice. It's still great but if you don't play it daily!
The video we've all been waiting for. This hit hard. I'd played other BF titles before this came out, but this game got me hooked. The video brought on major nostalgia, remembering the fun I had with friends from around the world. It is a shame to see such a great title fizzle out because of all the issues pointed out here. I have many fond memories of BF1, but sadly it's no longer on my games list. I just can't bring myself to play it knowing I'll rage within a couple matches and turn it off. All in all, great work GGG. Nice to see a different perspective and other opinion of the game, instead of all the "Yes Men" creators that don't seem to have an opinion of their own
Love this game, play it daily and I agree with a lot of the criticisms, especially the movement. Its not just that its basic, its that it seems bugged? Like sometimes i try to vault over a wall and end up lying down next to it or vice versa. Its gotten me killed several times and frustrates me every time
Is it still worth it? Fucking yes! The game is still the best FPS shooter I've played, no shooter does atmosphere like bf1, the multiplayer is incredible
I got this game 6 years later after its release and personally enjoy it, especially when i get to play with my friends, whom one introduced me to this game and the other i introduced to this game, Battlefield V was the game that introduced me to the franchise so because of that it holds a special place in my heart, but Battlefield 1 will always be the battle game that stands out highly to me. Both had their flaws and Battlefield V definitely had a lot of flaws but I enjoy them both for different reasons.
Is the game still active on the series X?? I’m in the U.S east coast. Any advice for finding servers? I’m thinking of hopping back in and i wanna know how active it is nowadays.
Thank you for helping keep this GOAT alive! Friendly suggestion if you're looking for something new, Helldivers is awesome EDIT: dang you put so much effort into this video man! At least 50-60 hours editing. A+. Used to watch you years ago and watching this is just dang nostalgic
I play on PC in North America and have no ping or hit reg issues. The movement is perfect for the setting, save for the bugs. Pretty much the best arcade FPS you can play today, new Battlefields and the CoDs are garbage.
It’s sad watching this channel completely go downhill into nothingness, especially given the fact I was just a teen when I started watching this channel
I have been playing Battlefield games for many years. I recently came back to Battlefield 1 and I do like it but not as much as previous games. I feel like I die way more easily in BF1 even if I manage to get the drop on people. If I get a kill im almost certainly getting killed right after. I have no friends who got into BF1 and have been a member of several clans in other games. I never hear anyone talk in BF1 and few squads I join stick together. I find it to be more frustrating than any of the other BF games.
By far one of my favorite battlefields, the intensity felt very w1 despite auto weapons and such, I just got the vibe it was a scenario if the experimental weapons were actually fielded in large numbers, leading to some very intense combat moments, I loved the 1 hit bolt actions, even though I felt they should've killed chest up in this game as it would've helped out the marksmen class immensely making single actions viable to use in a gunfight, also fuck the arty truck, I am seeing arty trucks with over 100 stars for kills, I would've liked to see actual artillery used more often in multiplayer, like batteries instead of singles making them a possible game changer as a team could arty barrage, sorry for the rant but it was a very good game, Passchendaele is def my favorite map, the cav looks just scary on that map.
I actually re-bought bf1 on steam today (previously had it on origin but no DLC) for 5 or 6 quid with all the DLC, I just wanted to play battlefield because it's so fun to play casually, whereas most FPS games I play are super competitive and this is the most active BF (other than 2042 which I will not play out of principle). I'd still rather play bad company 2, but it's a lot of effort and you need third party programs to find servers. The game was recently updated, on PC at least, with a deeper level anti-cheat, which is a really good sign for PC players. I haven't played console in a decade, but I really can't imagine the frustration of playing with someone using xim. My comment holds no real value at all, but I enjoyed the video so I feel like I should leave one.
just recently played BF1 for the first time. The campaign was enjoyable and the game is still beautiful and has aged well. I was excited when I was introduced to the "operations" game mode. The first game I played was a decent game but all the other matches I played on a private server was riddled with cheating jerks who where spawn camping and somehow able to shoot me through buildings which completely made the experience terrible.
BF1 truly recreates the environment of WW1, even the servers follow a monarchical system with emperors (admins) with their courts (BFEAC/BFBAN/community forums) who send their subjects (other players) to die (kick/ban) arbitrarily. BF1 also cares for the old (rank 150), the weak (KD, KP
This used to be my favorite game of all time. But the hit detection on Xbox is so bad that it's unplayable to me anymore, and I uninstalled it. What a shame.
I think people should return to Battlefield 1 or, if they never played it, should try it instead of the current one. That should work as statement to the company, in order to reevaluate what they are prioritizing. I wish they developed more on their old frachises to keep them alive.
BF1 is still the go to for me. Only issues I disagree with on this game is spawning in planes in mid air, or tanks/vehicles vs running up to them and taking off/driving off. That was the biggest mistake of Battlefield 1 that DICE/EA made. The server browser also should be showing names of players in servers along with being able to host your own server with server files. Imagine the amount of mods like POE2 or DC from 1942 that could be made off this game. If EA/Dice wants a great new Battlefield game they will go back to WW2 1942 and just put all of that content into the BF1 game engine but bring back taking off planes from runways and aircraft carriers! You can cry all you want about camping but there is no such thing if you play as a team.
The influx of high pings is so annoying, but I can't speak as I have to play NA servers if I wanna play Operations, cause OCE only has 1 Conquest server. It sucks though, cause I'm getting bored of Conquest, half the maps are too open, I die from plane bombings so easily, tanks splash damage is insane, and dying to high ping players causes the rest of the server to become unstable with hit reg. I love BF1 but it's becoming so hard to stay on for more than a couple rounds now, sad.
I'm 50 yo player and I love bf1. I'm playing 3-4 times a week. It's my favorite fps game together with legendary cod2. Now I don't play cod games, battlefield is always better with the game mechanics.
I have just started BF1 after playing BFV and 2042, and I have to agree, like BFV, the clans are taking over the lobbies with it being all one-sided. Either way, I am enjoying the game and definitely a good title in the series.
Absolutely fantastic video mate. Chatted with you about some of the issues on stream in the past so you already know my views. That said though I’m still plugging away at it and feel like the last month or so have actually been somewhat better most of the time. I’ve miraculously been in alot less one sided games. Also last week I bought a Samsung Neo G7 monitor to play on and since using that plus fps boost I’m finding the shooting actually miles more consistent than it was using my 75 inch tv. Hope your well mate and I will catch you next time I get chance ❤
True story. Got in naval guns on island map began shelling behemoth battleship, good damage. I get killed. Respawn in bomber get full hits on Behemoth down to a slither of health, I bail and parachute to deck of behemoth.... behemoth and 5 kill in feed with repair tool. BF1👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
You don't want cheaters because they bring the game feel down for everyone- even if you have "the breadwinner cheater" on your team, you won't have them next round. And as for why they are- they are in the games with active communities, because a cheater cheats not to win, but to piss people off and feel better about themselves. You cheat when you don't want to get better at something but want gratification for it regardless (be it games, art, quiz etc.).
BF1 is the best FPS game I’ve ever played in my life. I come from a line of fighting game players within my family so I was blessed to play something so amazing
Sorry about the ping, from me, but we don't have much of an option in South-Africa. We HAVE servers, but for some strange reason, our players play on European servers. And to top it off, there has been damage to the undersea cables, so our ping now is around 200ms. You'd think that with technology where it is, ping would be better. At least down to 100ms. But trust me, we feel it just as bad coming up against a low pinger in close quarters.
Ah nah dude, it’s not your fault haha. The game does a poor job with ping. Nothing you can do about low population counts or lag compensation. Thanks for watching.
When you have a game grounded in realism, as much as possible, the unfortunate reality is, a century of military advancement inherently makes for a longer range, more technological experience. BF2042, right now, is a very solid game. Immersion should not be equivalent to range or historical events. BF2042 has a few maps that are literally jaw dropping,, not only visually, but in realistic scope.
I’m firmly of the belief that gameplay should always come first, within a game that’s essentially an arcade shooter. Everything else is secondary. Thus, I dislike 2042 because I feel that the gameplay loop is abysmal. Thanks for watching.
Played BF1 years ago on XBOX, loved every second of it, though the whole checkpoint voicing used to drive the wife nuts. These types of games only come around once in a while, the last one for me as a WW1/WW2 fps was Medal of Honor, Allied Assault. The beach landing alone nailed that6 game into history.
Also in this game i dont have problem with playing 130 ms the lag isnt visible . Only in counter strike it is visbile . So please dont say anything about region locking bevase we also want to play this awesome game
Im from argentina and i play everyday. I just dont get why ppl use steam charts... I mean i do, but i dont care, i love bf 1. Thats all that matters to me
From 11:40 is what i get most of the time, makes me sad. I get upper hand, shoot first and then my bullets start to go missing, i die. Im new player in BF1 so jeeey.....

BF1 NEVER gets boring, having a blast with sniping on this game
Do you play ps5?
@@Couchgamer434 yes
@@alexx4229 add me ?(;
Honestly, as a huge Bf fan, Bf 1 is one of my fav, as i love the old weapons and just overall how it works.
It only "issue" that is may have here and there is either dead servers (if youre EU), or hackers ( but they are rare)
So yeah, id say BF 1 is still worth it to play, or at least to come back to every now and then.
Thanks very much
The amount of time and effort put into this video shows in the quality of the video. Top work as always GGG cant wait for the next video to drop.
Ok bro
Thank you very much! Very kind mate.
PC definitely feels like the better experience here.
I just found this video and i remember that you killed me with the medic injection thing on ballroom blitz a couple days ago. I first thougt it was a random guy until i saw your youtube name and i instantly remembered 😂
Haha that’s awesome man. Thanks for coming by!
bf1 is a great game and the majority of these problems can be fixed by just getting good. learn the maps and flanking routes, play the guns to their strengths and effective ranges, and familiarize yourself with recoil patterns and you’ll be greatly rewarded
I’m literally a top 1% KD infantry player. The criticisms have absolutely nothing to do with ability.
I like to play this game while hitting blinkers with volume at 100%
Say no more
That's the best way. 👌 I got my self some good quality headphones just to play this game to immerse myself. 😊
if you get high enough it really feels like youre at war
Great video dude! I love playing BF1 to this day
Sad they didn’t add Yugoslav because they started the tides for WW1
I will enjoy this video after some operations and conquest match in today evening. Battlefield 1 for me standing side by side with Battlefield 4, but in overall atmosphere, gunplay, graphics, sound design, its best in the series.
Game industry is really in bad condition right now so i am worried about future of Battlefield. 2042 isn't a bad game, but its a bad Battlefield. So what's next? We have fortnite in Call of Duty (nicki minaj, Messi etc....), do we have it in our beloved series? I hope not.
Aged like fine wine, this game is the best its ever been
Battlefield 5 is still a amazing game, a few months ago it hit its peak players of 120k players, on steam by itself, not including the EA app.
I always think it's the best opition for DICE to make something like BF1: Chapter 2
Its gotten me killed several times and frustrates me every time
Finally someone that can listen 🎉
Thanks for watching :)
I love BF1 SO MUCH!!!
Only thing I don’t like is how much the guns take up half the screen
Pobably yes.
At least 10-15 full lobbies at any time of the day. Still populated

I currently stream Helldivers 2 once or twice a week :)
@@GetGoodGuy oh heck yeah, I'm gonna have to get back to watching regularly! Thanks for letting me know!
I play on PC in North America and have no ping or hit reg issues. The movement is perfect for the setting, save for the bugs. Pretty much the best arcade FPS you can play today, new Battlefields and the CoDs are garbage.
I still think dice should have made BF five BF One 2.0 and spent the time the extra time making a really great game
I’m confident that would have been successful.
Ah well thanks for leaving a comment. I appreciate it!
just recently played BF1 for the first time.
I’m start to think about getting this game
I've been able to avoid hackers and ping issues by playing on community servers.
I like that tanks and planes are incredibly powerful. Makes it A LOT more immersive.
I just got purchased the revolution edition for my PS5 and I can’t wait to get on!! Had it for my Xbox day 1 edition.
i came back to BF1 after sooo much time and it makes MASSIVE fun. The Game is thought threw and the gameplay is amazing.
I found a bunch of servers and been saving them on ps5! The game is gorgeous and glad to be back!!!
As someone who just bought their first Gaming PC and loves the battlefield game play and not that great at shooter games you think it’s worth it?
Timeout for high pings used to be a thing. Why not bringing it back? Well we all know why.
BF1 is the best FPS game I’ve ever played in my life. I come from a line of fighting game players within my family so I was blessed to play something so amazing
If you want modern movement plus battlefield then play the finals
Sorry about the ping, from me, but we don't have much of an option in South-Africa. We HAVE servers, but for some strange reason, our players play on European servers. And to top it off, there has been damage to the undersea cables, so our ping now is around 200ms. You'd think that with technology where it is, ping would be better. At least down to 100ms. But trust me, we feel it just as bad coming up against a low pinger in close quarters.
Ah nah dude, it’s not your fault haha. The game does a poor job with ping. Nothing you can do about low population counts or lag compensation.
Thanks for watching.
@@GetGoodGuy Thanks for replying👍
@@GetGoodGuy PS now stop calling it BF5 and the next one BF6?😅
GetGoodGuy, Subscribed because your videos are always awesome!
Like Your Style . Live Long and prosper!
BF1 has been recently updated. I have been having fun
I like the planes, they give off emersion with there constant bombardment
Also in this game i dont have problem with playing 130 ms the lag isnt visible . Only in counter strike it is visbile . So please dont say anything about region locking bevase we also want to play this awesome game
1. The complaint was about playing against high ping
2. I show clips literally displaying the problem
Im from argentina and i play everyday. I just dont get why ppl use steam charts... I mean i do, but i dont care, i love bf 1. Thats all that matters to me
I don't know what to comment, it just hurts man...
I have such good memories of this game.
Absolutely love it.
Crazy that this game is almost 10 years old
I love this game, even though I spend half the time in a round spawning and instantly dying because of planes or an enemy spawned behind me.
From 11:40 is what i get most of the time, makes me sad. I get upper hand, shoot first and then my bullets start to go missing, i die. Im new player in BF1 so jeeey.....
Unexpected treat, i approve. More videos please 🙏
Thanks man :)
