His voice is so rich in Classicism. I first heard him as Ferrando in Cosi Fan Tutte. When I heard him singing Lieder from Schumann, I became a bigger fan of him.
I think Mozart's lieder and concert arias are some of my favorite pieces by him. What a genius. Imagine the song cycles and the poets he would have set had he lived longer. More Goethe and maybe even Ruckert as well!

No! Peter is much better than Fritz. FW had a natural beautiful voice but his vocal is not fully developed. His hi notes is incorrect and constrained. Also Peter is much better at interpreting Mozart, Schubert and Bach Cantatas. Peter is a true artist and Fritz is just a singer. He had not fully developed artistically. Although he had no time and would have been great given time.

I had the privilege of seeing him live in Zurich in the 1970s. A great artist. I was so sorry to hear of his death. We are all getting old.

詞と音とを丁寧に繊細に紡いで、本当に感動的です。
途中で拍手が度々入りますが、お客さんの気持ちはとても解ります。
ですが、ストップをかけて音楽を深く伝えようとするその姿勢がまた見てるものをペーター・シュライアーの世界に引き込みます。亡くなられた事がこんなにも残念に思う歌手は、そうは居ません。ありがとうペーター・シュライアー！
