Let's face it, bodybuilders don't like to do cardio. That's why they aren't prepared for these obstacle courses. They'd rather do muscle hypertrophy training, to look bigger. Still, cardio training of this type could be a real game changer for increasing endurance.

Alot of marines are mentally weak people who couldn't handle the real world and job market. They couldn't handle having to make life decisions for themselves and so need the comfort of being told what to do in their life like when they were at school. Don't tell me a marine is mentally stronger than a dude pulling 60 hour weeks in a competitive industry while keeping up with bills and family commitments. Any pleb can suck it up and run until they throw up or carry a log.

Can you share any of your tips? I’ve been taking fadogia along with ashwaganda, I also eat carbs on a necessary level before training and after, after that I fill in with things such as fatty meat cuts and eggs. I also use onions and garlic in my cooking sometimes

Amazing Larry, for someone your size and athletic background you killed it. I’m sure other seasoned powerlifters your size would not be able to do it. Also the rope climb is defintiely a skill all on its own, so it’s definitely the hardest. I’m sure once you master the skill, then you got it. Much love!

I remember the video of you playing basketball while huffing and puffing, this is truly great! The changes that you made are visible and seeing how you held up to this challenge it's clear how they point in the right direction. Can't wait to see them on your world, because it looks like they could thrive in it 💪
My Bodybuilding friends laugh at CrossFit, but I tell them all the time that their “style” of training makes them as functional as an obese man. CrossFit actually makes you lethal in ALL other forms of exercise outside of it. For example CrossFit has enhanced my performance in Wrestling and BJJ as well as Calisthenics and running.

I have two friends in the marines, they do drug testing even for roids on their soldiers. If you see a jack marine I guess they were just bless by God.

Typically means the opposite, bodybuilding and powerlifting have nothing to do with fitness or athleticism, they both take your body to extremes that aren't good for your health at the highest levels

this is the kind of training people should do along with stretching, a little yoga and sparring, heavybag, double end bag work, mitt work, push ups, pull ups, squats, dips, lunges, climbing etc. ITs not complicated.
As someone who has done that exact obstacle course in Camp Pendleton, it really isn't hard at all. Larry is just in terrible cardiovascular shape and has terrible hip mobility. Almost everyone I saw attempt the course could do it much faster than Larry and that includes chubby 19 year kids and scrawny 150lb guys.
Larry never does cardio!!! In the Corps we run 3 miles every morning before breakfast depends on how dedicated your company commander. Mine was a crazy triathlete so we ran every morning at 5am after formation and before breakfast

Well that’s not true, drug tested frequently, steroid test is an expensive blood test that they only do when someone is showing very obvious signs or some rats on them.
