Anyone who has ever been to a concert will know the feeling. The artist just doesn't measure up to the studio version. And you know 3 or 4 songs, and the rest are a mystery. With John Farnham, EVERY song is a hit. We know every word from the first to the last of the 2nd encore. And he's 10 times better live than in a studio (and he's great in a studio). Nobody ever left a John Farnham concert disappointed.
LOL I'm a Aussie that grew up in the 70's and 80's. John was on heavy rotation. It is awesome to see peoples reaction to him and makes me appreciate what I had even more.
OMG yes!!!! You definately need to do a John Farnham back to back live stream. You have literally only just scratched the surface. I will 100% be there for that! We will round out your education. By the end of the live stream you will have so many favourites you won't be able to put them in order. My big tip to picking a favourite....is basically what ever one your listening to at the time 🤣🤣
I was there and I can tell you this concert was every bit as brilliant as you might think and then some. Dobbs Franks and the Melbourne Symphony only added to the grandness of it all. How I miss those days of John and his band at their absolute best.
Good reaction Buddy, John is a legend, you always feel good after listening to his songs and get pumped we Australians love him he's an icon over here and genuinely a nice bloke to. One of the best singers in the world, probably a bit bias but he's awesome. Be good everyone take care all the best for 2023
Don't you love how that girl breaks onto the stage, gets to John and rather than get pissed and call security, he gives her a peck on the cheek, and she's like, 'well alright then, I'm good' and goes back the way she came. No one got hurt, great video moment. The livestream is a great idea, but you've got a few songs to go yet, lol. Great reaction as always. ❤
I like seeing John's personality, because I react to the song and that is it so I like the little things. Tania I realized I've only done like 8 John songs wow
John literally gave the stage invader directions and a promise of what he'd do. "If you make you're move, I won't hesitate..." so she knew then to immediately run off 👍🏼
Another fun one from this concert is an AC/DC cover 'It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock 'n' Roll), and you watch how much the Orchestra enjoys themselves, cheers
Such a fun concert don’t think the orchestra would of ever had that much fun performing with any other artist. Check out “it’s a long way to the top” from the same concert it’s an AC/DC classic
He was a co-writer of this song when he was with the Little River Band. Great reaction. His microphone tricks started back when he was struggling singing in the clubs. It was to get peoples attention away from the pokies.
Another is High Art with Anthony Warlow at a concert series John performed in with Anthony and Olivia Newton John. There’s also about 5or 6 UA-cam videos called John Farnham can sing Anything if you wanted to see his sing EVERYTHING including Old McDonald 😆 Hr is Australia’s favourite son, You’re the Voice is our unofficial National Anthem and we will be forever proud of him!!
You ask how one picks your favourite John Farnham song? Well, having heard John first sing in the 1960's on, that is an impossible feat. I just love anything he sings. He could sing the phone book and I'd love it. And John has also acted in theatre, on TV and had his own variety show, Farnham and Byrne. He also was on Carols by Candlelight many times. Sammy Davis Jnr saw him perform on The Don Lane Show and loved him. He is a humble guy and very funny and Aussie's love him very dearly.
Playing to Win is my favourite...! Nothing better then hearing this song before a massive sporting match. Thank you for reacting. You're the Voice is an oz Anthem. So, will always be special.
The best concert he ever did and he always did spectacular concerts , another great song from the same concert is ACDC'S LONG WAY TO THE TOP every person on stage and a huge amount of the audience were involved in just simply going off , you had to be there to experience a performance you would never forget .
This concert was packed. More than 12,000 people in the arena. Recorded in 1989 and televised live on the Seven Network in Australia, so a few million more people watching it.
John sold this venue out more than 90 times in his career. In just one City. You need to listen to John singing Black Dog which is a Led Zeppelin song. He sings it as a sound check and to warmup his voice. He never recorded it but we are happy someone did. Thank you.
@@CVTECK1 I literally just watched something of John’s that I hadn’t seen before. It was John singing please don’t ask me on the Steve Vizard show - amazing impromptu performance. Some people say that John singing Gethsemane from Jesus Christ Superstar is his greatest vocal performance ever.
AC/DC cover of It’s A Long Way To The Top(if you wanna rock ‘n’ roll) from this concert will blow you away! Keep saying it John is the G.O.A.T! (Greatest of all time)
Definitely from the 80’s …. 1984…. The original version is by Little River Band…. When John was the Lead Singer…. He had a hand in writing this song… John has a vast catalogue of songs going right back to 1967….one of my favourite songs is Break the ice from the film Rad also known as Hell Track.
Hahaha...Every song he sings is my favourite lol....But the performances from this concert especially were something really special...flawless vocals and the energy in the room is electric and I have to say it still thrills me even today. Thanks so much for this awesome reaction...Love from Australia ps keep them coming "A long way to the top' (if ya wanna rock n roll) should be next...lol
Hi Octane - Get up and DANCE! Put this on first thing in the morning - you won't need your coffee! Oh yeah. Some girl handed him her panties. That happened a lot. You can be SURE though he got rid of them before he got home, else his lovely wife; Jillie would have him singing Soprano for the rest of his Days! 😂🙃🤣😆🤣 No no no - You're gonna cause a bun fight if you insist on favourites. It's just ONE favourite; ALL of Farnsie! 🤩😍 [ Hi again from Tasmania ]
Mate, just for your own enjoyment (I’m not asking for a reaction) check this same song from his Acoustic Chapel Sessions. It’s one of those live in the studio recordings and it is such a tight performance. There’s one note from either him or one of his backing singers that’s not 💯 perfect and his micro expression gives it away. A perfectionist.
OMG, the energy, the Symphony Orchestra and John Farnham, where do you begin? He kisses the girl and doesn’t miss a beat. Do yourself a favour, John did a cover of Led Zeppelin‘s Black dog when doing a soundcheck. Fortunately somebody recorded it. It’ll blow your mind.😊
Impossible to pick a fav song of his because of the variety of music he performs. As well as Playing To Win, my other favs are You're the Voice, That's Freedom, Burn for You (one of the best romantic ballads of all time), and a bonus fav from Jesus Christ Superstar ix Gethsemane (which I was lucky enough to see him perform in concert). If you haven't reviewed Burn for You yet, please give it a go (live version).
You can't pick a favourite ... they are all superb. He can be funny too. Try "Granada" with Anthony Warlow (from The Main Event) Or "Angels" with Lisa Edwards for yet another side of the great man. Get well Farnsey! 💕
My vote for a favourite- That's Freedom (live of course).... or perhaps Black Dog,,, or Two Strong Hearts... or Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head... orr Going Going Gone... or That's What Love Will Make You Do... or All Our Sons And Daughters... oh darn It's really hard to pick just one favourite.

Pretty much any song from this concert is well worth reacting to, two I’d single out are It’s a Long Way To The Top and Age of Reason. Also, if you want to see him have fun with audience then try Sadie the Cleaning Lady , again from this concert . Seeing you are doing Farnsey, I just subbed. Always react to live performances of Johns , they beat the studio versions hands down. Thank you for a great reaction .
@@CVTECK1 yep definitely, mate he's that good he doesn't really need an orchestra, that's just a little extra to add to the experience of a fantastic show and great performers and back up vocals totally professionals and John himself is a really nice guy who has Time for his fans and doesn't mind taking things to the next level.
