Thankyou to MyMiniFactory for letting me sponsor my own models www.myminifactory.com/users/Miscast YOU LEGENDS. Theres also some remaining metal minis and glow in the dark toads still left on www.miscast.co.
I should be watching this in a theatre, not on my computer.
Sorry to hear about the studio Trent. It was definitely a magical liminal once in a lifetime place... Glad to hear you're a healthy and soldiering on in the meantime
I just started watching but you are an incredible filmmaker
You lure us in with Big Spackles Gengar, and before we know it we're floating through The Void. Love ya buddy! :-)
Haven't we all floated in The Void, from time to time?
That made me think this thing that shows up could show up in other gamers/painter’s/crafter’s videos. A demon just for us!
Jeeeeeeez Trent. This is the BEST video you've made. It's absolutely balls to the wall. God TIER. I am soooooooooo sorta proud of you.
THAts so truuueeyedwghyuire
You've already said what I was thinking 😁
No sorta about it. This is next level filmmaking or ACTUAL film making if I was being too gatekeeper-y about it lol.
20:10 “Good morning Curtis, It is in fact a beautiful morning because I’ve been up all night and I have a plan.” Is so Miscast of you
" i can try anything now" is the most beautiful artistic expression i've ever heard.
Great to see you uploading... Things are getting weird. And we love it. Especially loved the visual intrigue and storytelling. Void section, weird things in the sky and background. Look forward to seeing what lovely not necronomicon totally not evil gift you got
Man, I'm only halfway through this vid but as always i gotta say I just LOVE your editing and storytelling style, its one of my favourites on youtube. I'm always so excited to see your videos and your work
Trent, you’re leveling up rapidly. My condolences on the loss of your studio, it always felt so fitting that you worked in an old tv studio. Better things are surely to come!
"Sometimes you've just gotta act like you've got your shit together, and then work it out."
I don't think I've ever identified so much with a philosophy as much as I do this. So much of the creative process is learning on the fly and reacting to new external stimulus as it happens. Thank you, Trent, for such a special video. I'm genuinely inspired by not only the creative cinematography, and the mind warping minis, but the sheer force of will with which you continue to tackle such awesome projects. Can't wait to see ya at Adepticon!
Trent, what 'Pile of Shame' ?
_THAT_ is your *_Monument of Potential_* my friend.
When ever I feel down or sad because _it just didn't turn out how I imagined it in my head_ , the words of the patron Saint of crafters everywhere, rings in my ears:
"We don't make mistakes, we just have happy little accidents."
Sometimes, when stuff just doesn't come out right- that can really lend itself to push your piece in directions you might never have thought off yourself.
Have faith in yourself and trust your process.
I also like Library of Opportunity. Like a wine cellar, it's where you store things until it's time to savor them.
Already said all the mushy gushy to you so I'll just say this- this is beautiful and I'm so excited for you (also your new neighbor seems cool)
Their is just something special about your videos
Time slows down amd in completly absorbed into them
Thanks for another great one
With the “pile of shame” cast, you should totally use the metal one as like a little brother to the larger one!
Beautiful video by the way. Stuff really does just work out doing it one step at a time.
This video is so cinematic! I'm forever amazed at how captivating your videos are, but this one is on another level! And sorry to hear about the studio my dude!
Thank you Will, you have been such a huge inspiration to me and this video particularly so your words mean a lot.
I'm a serial smartphone UA-cam binger who half-watches while doing errands but THANK GOD I didn't do that with this piece! I stopped my life to watch it on a bigger screen and your artistry blew me away.
I was just thinking this weekend that it's been so long since I've seen a new video from you. Sorry you had to leave the old studio, we've seen so many videos there that it's going to be strange not having that familiar place in the background going forward.
Your stuff and your outlook is always so inspiring. You show the highs and lows; experiments and the failures and successes of those experiments; your art and videos just has this amazing aesthetic to it and I can't help but be inspired whenever you give us these 30 minute windows into your life.
It's great to see you back. :)
Oh mate what a video! I would say my favourite so far. Great storytelling and editing. Absolutely engaging. I’m truly honoured to be in it. Lots of love from Notts brother. (This is Pablo by the way)
Every time I watch a new Miscast video, I always feel inspired to dive back into my bits box and keep working on my Emperor's Children/Slaanesh Army.. It's hard to stay motivated, especially when you want to kitbash and convert each model into something special.
From one young Australian to another. The cost of living is bloody expensive! On the upside, amazing video 🙌 I truly hope you get to adepticon mate. Warmest good wishes and hugs for the loss.
Idk how you do it, but every single time I'm really struggling on a project and lose the motivation to work on it, you post something. And every single time, without fail, it inspires me to get up and do the thing. To get creative, to rethink the problem, to find a crazy solution, or to just stop beings so damn perfectionist and embrace the flaws.
Humbly appreciate your genuine glimpse into your life and journey in hobby.
Glad you're in a good place making cool things friend 💜
Those neon-eque colors and the Xs on the eyes made it look like that gengar came out of "The Purge" franchise
The style of this video was a work of art of it’s own. It was a breath of fresh air, or should I say creative air. It felt like a documentary with a dash of skate cult and indie art. Amazing work! Wishing all the best from across the other side of the globe, the Netherlands.
Man, editing is better every video. As an artist myself, I always appreciate the more creative focus your videos have. Studios come and go, and you'll definitely be in other ones throughout your life. Its sad to let one go, but they will all mark different eras in your creative journey. Keep making that cool shit.
I can see from this video that this year is going to be a great year of growth and creativity for you. Keep on keeping on.
Side note: "The Summit of Triumph" or "The Monument of Resilience" is how we all should start relating to our "Pile of Doom." This year needs less creative guilt 😊
18:44 "I was inspired by the beautiful nature outside"
*holding a terrifying monster in his hand*
Peak Australia
Friggin inspirational dude. I want a Miscast movie.
This vlog seems so magical and mystical, especially the beginning and the new studio! Amazing job and happy late birthday!
You hit me hard with this video. I've been revving up my pottery lately after packing up my studio 3 years ago. So seeing you sitting in the empty space made my eyes water a bit. If you've ever lost your childhood/family home this is what it feels like. On to new projects, and new opportunities. Thank you for this one.
I love how you told this story. Simply incredible. Can only echo what others have said: The vibe you create and the way you make your videos is really something, thank you for that!
When you said you might not have a platform or an audience just wanted to say regardless of when you release things, your videos have always been something I watch for like 4 years or so man. As a fellow young Aussie maker, keep your chin up, you're killing it and I love everything you create.
And I'm sorry about your studio, it looked like a wonderful, cosy, and slightly chaotic space which I would've also loved to work in. Keep hold of those memories because I think there's something beautiful in the ephemeral.
sorry for only commenting now but thank you so much for being such an inspiration everyday. I absolutely love the editing, storytelling and everything you make. you are an amazing human being keep it up
Nothing brings me so much pleasure than watching you, do you. You are such a talent 🤘
Favorite episode so far. 🎉 to new directions & beginnings Trent!
Hey Trent, i don't know if you'll see this, especially because I was quite late on catching this video. But thank you.
I've been in a hobby (and a creative) block for months now and after seeing this video, specifically the gengar segment, I felt invigorated by your passion and perseverance and found the creative force to ruin some animal toys i bought for a project I "didn't have the parts" to finish and I just went at it with pliers and greenstuff. One boy still needs a lot more work post curing but the other creative I made out of off cuts wouldn't have happened if I left it in my pile of shame until it was "the right time for my plan"
And now I'm trying to go to sleep while looking at other pile of shame minis and wondering in what ways I could frankenstein them together and I just wanted to say:
Thank you, you're my hobby hero
Holy fuck. No shade to anyone else in the tabletop/minipainting community, but this is in a league of its own. The artistry in your miniature design (the fucking CUBE? are you KIDDING me?)? the personal journey and your thoughts that went along with it? the beautiful videography? I feel so inspired rn
I'm glad you're feeling that momentum; it's a good feeling. I am in the depths of a project of my own right now, and your words came at a good time. I see that's true of some other people in the comments, too!
This video is just truly amazing, I have no words.
This is why you're my hobby hero!
This is absolutely beautiful! Your videos always manage to put a smile on my face, even in the gloomiest times.
I'm so glad to see you coming back with all these new ideas and projects, truly inspiring :)
I didn't expect this kinda cinematic masterpiece 🔥🔥 glad you're back
Just wanted to say the editing and vibe of this video is spectacular. I only watch you here and there but this video felt incredibly personal.
So inspiring, bro! I'm happy you're back 💫
A huge "hello" from Brazil!
This was just a masterclass in video making. I loved every second of this!
11/10 production, you should be proud of it. You and your channel have been a contributing factor in me starting up my own. As others have said, you've levelled up - I can feel it. Good luck for the future.
This might be my favorite hobby video ever. I watch from france, and for me it is always such a pleasure to be able to feel, touch and see through you video such a beautiful and inspiring new world, in tho other side of this one. Thank's man.
i've really enjoyed your videos in the past but THIS ONE IS ON AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT LEVEL! Fantastic work
What a glorious video Trent! Fun wild and profound. Looking forward to the next
What a brave, and great video! As always your passion truly shines through in all the (tons) of work you do. "Pile of Shame" is the hobby hill I will die on, I always call it out and rephrase as the mountain of possibility!
Cubipede is w/o a doubt one of the greatest things presently existing. Praise be to Miscast for rendering unto us such a creation, such a vision!
This is so awesome!!!
Finally something fresh in UA-cam hobby videos.
Wish you luck, mate!!🔥
this video comes out at the right moment for me. Thanks for all the good stuff you're putting out man
This is so good, its so different than everyone else in the category and honestly on all of UA-cam. Love your stuff
I saw Yellow Cube piece flash by on the screen and it made me really excited. Not that I'm getting some special exclusive exposure, but that miniatures to me have gone from something I did and shared with a few people as a kid to massive online collaborative projects where we are all making such cool stuff. And even if you haven't participated in any challenges, uploaded some work, or even painted a mini yet, you're still apart of this space. We're all in this space during this amazing time of wild, weird, and exciting art.
This is such a good video! I love the way their made, it’s such a cool style
Hope you're good and got some videos coming out. Miss your stellar content.
Man, this video is so good! The content is really interesting but you have really outdone yourself video making wise. Filmography, editing and post production are superb!
Trent whatever studio you work in will be a magical place. you are pure inspiration
Brilliant video! Sorry to hear about the studio and the stress of it all but so glad to see you back and knocking it out the park! Big love from over the ditch in NZ.
I appreciate your content, it really inspires me to create. And when you share your “failures” it reminds me even my hobby heroes make mistakes and take risks and I keep that in mind whenever I try something new! Keep it up Trent
Each of your videos reminds me just how talented you are as a storyteller and filmmaker. I'm excited to see where your journey leads this year.
P.S. That Gengar rules.
Powerful video, Trent! Love it!
loved the aesthetic and the cinematography of the intro sequence
You never fail to amaze me man, see you in a few weeks :)
Sorry about your studio, very happy to hear you are doing well. I love your content, and just think you are the best warhammer/miniature creator out there.
Truly one of my favorite film makers.
Welcome back, I'm sure you'll make it to Adepticon.
I ain't a pokemon guy but that gengar goes insane. One of the best little dudes I've seen in a while.
This video is GOATed. You're a bloody legend, Trent.
Dude the artistry on display in your filmmaking is outstanding. Actually going deeper with story telling as art and not just/only a ‘being honest’ video with nice cinematography (which are obv totally legit too) is such a joy to watch. Can’t wait to see where that goes in the future if you decide to do more. It’s actually ‘interpretable’ as a piece of art. So good. SO good.
Mate, the care you put into your work, the videos, the models, your art. You're an inspiration for just keeping moving forwards. Keep writing those lists and remember perfection is the enemy of finishing shit x
This video was nuts. The effects, shots, angles... really created a story. just wow.
I'm sorry to hear that you had to leave the studio.
Though as I recall, you said in the past, something along the lines of it not being likely to be permanent.
Not that that makes it any better.
I hope for the best for you in the future, and can't wait to see what you make next.
So glad to see you're ok, I know many of us started to worry when you started selling off so much of your work. I also see a surprise cameo of my Yellow Cube Tank.
I stumbled across your Nurgle Diaries videos when i was going through a really rough time. They helped inspire me to get my own life together, and do what i wanted to do - create. My life has since completely changed and I am so much happier than I have ever been before. I have always considered your journey as one of the catalysts for undergoing the biggest and best thing I have ever done. Thank you.
Mistcast videos are all treasures.
Played the audio backwards for the sweet pupper. Things are gonna be juuuuust fiiiiiine. 👍👍
Thanks for continuing to share your art, and thank you for coming back again~
Quite possibly my favorite you tube video ever. Spoke to me on so many levels. Your a blessing sir.
You’re an inspiration. Both in the way you make art and live your life
You think you've seen everything. And then there's a video of a guy making a mold out of his tongue. Keep on being the coolest guy ever, Trent!
Those cubes at the end are giving me Mirrormask vibes… and then the dog showed up and it turned into a horror.
Honestly I'm just stoked I can 3D print my own Miscast Minatures! The fact that one of my top content creators can show me so much cool stuff in one video and my all time favorite Pokemon is a great way to start the day :)
This video is absolutely amazing. The story, the editing everything about it is on a level I've never witnessed before. You sir are a creative in every sense of the word.
This is such a beautiful video Trent, excited for what’s to come!
Simply wonderful, your aesthetics never cease to amaze.
Man the quality of that video was through the roof. I don't know how many times I'll have to watch this.... And I never feel like watching something more than once. So inspiring. Mad respect!
You're such an inspiration man. Never stop doing what you're doing.
The new 16mm-film-grain style looks great and suits the channel
I am speechless. Great video. And really happy to see you again.
Oh how we missed you, this feels cathartic.
I'm properly amazed, that's properly a short film. Keep going, I love what you do !
Return of the king!
What an edit of a video, felt like I was on some sort of cosmic adventure.
Awesome to see you back with big plans and a renewed outlook. 👍
This is an amazing video
Trent, I love your work❤. You are such a creative force and a huge inspiration to me. Whenever I watch your stuff I forget about my boring nine to five Job and just want to start something creative. Thank you so much for sharing the stuff you do 😊
Love your content. I just adore how you spread good vibes by being creative, curious and warm hearted. As you get supported you support others. I hope these small words will support you. Thank you so much.
