@@wittlegoblin When ripe, the pod normally opens wide enough to fetch the chestnut easily without getting hurt too badly 🤗 True that! My guess would be that someone found out after trying to use them as fuel for a fire and noticed the pleasent smell 🤔😁

Don't let the Imposter Syndrome get to you: Iron Reaver is BAD ASS! I think that spikey seed pod might be from an American Chestnut - I've tried using similar seed pods for terrain, but they can be really tough to make work. I'm still trying to figure out the right time of year to dry them to get the best balance of creepy texture while still being durable enough to use...
Be careful if yours are as pointy as the one I found, ouch! Thank you so much!!

I just subscribed I came from Dave / Bill / Alex and this was my fave of the bunch! Love the vid too. Good to be open about hobby frustration, when it happens to me (which happens a lot) it can feel like I'm the only one, being a predominantly solo hobby, and it's easy for the old self depreciation to cascade out of control. Not really ideal for a hobby that is supposed to be good for the mental health xp.
My goodness, that's very nice of you to say! I'm so blown away by the talent in this playlist and incrediblt inspired by it. I think it's super easy for us to only show the end results and victories but it's important to tell a complete story!

I've had plenty of times where a project has a false start or two! I think you did a gosh darn good job pivoting!
Also i find primes often help me find out the little things I'm missing when im lost in all the colors of my bits.

Always good to see the 'failure' that comes with the process of trying something new, not many content creators include this stuff (probably due to how You Tube algorithms or something) and how it turned out was great. One of the best things about this hobby is the people you interact with and how encouraging they generally are anyone who harbours hate doesn't belong in this great global community - I think jealousy is there main motivator and you have accomplished so much in such a short time, can't wait to see what you come up with next.
I think it's important to tell a complete story- I don't judge anyone who doesn't want to, but I like sharing the whole picture. Thank you so much!! I really have met the nicest people in this hobby, I'm so grateful. Thank you!!

Thank you Bill Make Stuff, and to each and every contributor for sharing your creativity, process, humor, insight, and did I mention entertaining? Yes, entertaining! I hope y'all will make this something of a regular/annual sort of group enterprise. Very clever concept, extremely diverse results, however - most of all - and Ms. Whittle Goblin said it best - I found a whole new bunch of channels to subscribe, like, and continue watching. So far I think this has been my favourite one. The chains look great around the face and the legs are fantastic. The paint really helped bring that all together.

I love the bot! And the lore; it seems very Isaac Asimov meets Grimdark. I enjoy watching people create art but it is the lore that tugs on my heartstrings. It would have been so cool if it could still move but that is to be expected after all the paint and other added materials. Really awesome :D

My daughter especially hit some speed bumps during her build for this bot bash challenge. I know its not always easy, but the build always takes us on a rollercoaster of problem solving.
