@@dirtangler5891 Yessir, I posted a review at the Friendly forum if you wanna read: metaldetectingforum.com/showthread.php?t=295150 I am impressed with it. :)
Thanks Tim and congrats on nailing that first silver FTY! If you like hunting silver coins specifically, check out my Silver Slayer program vid. For silver coins it works even better!
Thanks for the training lesson, please do a follow up video of you trying this out, I would love to see it in action. I am new to the Deus family so I am working in General, but did to 5 tone and square. When I did this it made the machine a lot quieter, not sure if this was good or bad. 😀
I just chose park due to it already being a good middle of the road program for coin shooting places like parks.. This tone set up should work just fine in any of the other programs. Might need to adjust the tone breaks a little since the TID in General reads a little lower due to the frequency set being used. Thanks for watching and commenting!
That's awesome Matt. Glad they worked out for ya! The Nox is a really good detector. Hated to sell mine but it was the only way I could justify getting the D2. Hopefully Minelab releases an updated version of the Nox or a new FBS machine in the next year or two.
Just curious why you chose park vs high conductor as your base program. I don’t yet have my deus 2, hopefully it arrives soon. Thanks for making this video.
I went with Park due to the higher bottle cap reject, medium recovery speed, and frequency range out to 24 kHz. Plus it was already set up in Square Tones which I like. Basically like the name says its set up for hunting parks, which is where a lot of people go coin shooting here. Deep HC is geared for deeper high conductors, so I figured Park would be more middle of the road with a good split between depth, frequency and speed. Truthfully, either one would probably work just fine.
On my property, these settings make the Deus 2 scream like 100 pinball machines in an arcade, even after ground balancing. I'm nowhere near power lines, so I assume that my ground is much more mineralized. When I reduce sensitivity below 70, it quiets down a bit, but still extremely chatty. I'll experiment more once the new snow melts, but I'm back to my modified General profile for now.
@@kevinforth7618 that’s strange. We only changed tone settings so shouldn’t have any effect on overall behavior or EMI. It could be the park program in general doesn’t want to play nice at your location. Maybe the frequencies used in park causing it. If that’s the case, you can set up these same tones using the General program as the base and it’ll work the same way. Good luck!
Hey Jerry, I have a video showing the ID of several US coins including my gold double eagle. Sold my eagles and half eagles years ago, so I’m not sure about those. Here’s the video: ua-cam.com/video/TwwIi4Jq9Sg/v-deo.html
@Gold in the scoop Right. This is designed for cherry picking the more common US coins such as halves, quarters, dimes, nickels and most pennies, while knocking out a lot of trash targets. It will disc out several of the more uncommon coins including most gold coins, 3 cent coins, flying eagle cents and some types of IHPs. If we open the disc to accept all of those coins then we also open up the door for a lot more trash targets, which would defeat the purpose of it being a coin shooting or cherry picking program. Discrimination level is a trade off. If you run higher disc levels you’ll knowingly be giving up some possible good targets in exchange for digging less trash.
Hey Mark, yeah this should work fine with almost any base program. You might need to adjust the tone breaks slightly because different programs use different frequency sets which causes the ID to vary just a little. I think General reads a couple of digits lower than Park on most coins. I have a video showing Target ID for coins in the General program which may help with setting it up.
Hey Bill! I'm a big fan of your Trashy Park pattern. Used it on the Etrac back in the day and still use it on my CTX. That's basically what I'm trying to re-create on the Deus 2 here. Yep, I agree pitch tones works great with the trashy park set up. HH!
It works pretty well John. Its nice for those times when ya just want to grab some coins and skip everything else. I've used it at a Park near my house and with the exception of a few pull tabs that read in the nickel range its pretty easy to dig just the coins.
Yes my name is Jonathan I live in Rome Georgia I love watching your videos and i metal detector myself and I was just wondering how I can get in touch with you to buy some of your t-shirts and stuff if you would let me know thank you

I tried this today and the sound of the coins was very light, almost too hard to hear. I’m going to go back and review the settings but I’m pretty sure that I got them correct. It’s sounded loud in the video. Not sure what’s up.
I don’t have one of those to test, but I’d imagine you’d need to accept everything from 70 on up just to be safe. Guessing those read somewhere in the 70s.
I would suggest familiarizing yourself with the controls before attempting to use custom programs. Anyway, if you’ll tell me which part you’re having trouble with I’ll gladly help you.
Just added this program after updating cause it erased my previous one. Thought I'd try something new. Haven't taken it out yet, but tested with some coins. Seems to block out silver war nickels. How to fix?
Possibly. You’d need to test and adjust accordingly. This is set up to get the more common coins while knocking out a lot of trash. There’s plenty of other coins that may fall within the discriminated area, including some gold coins and 3 cent pieces. It’s a trade off, and depends on how much junk you’re willing to dig. It’s very easy to adjust this to suit your needs though.
It would have been a great video if you had taken the time to view it before you listed on youtube. 2nd guessing for beginners is not a very educational method.
I watched the video no less than a dozen times before uploading. It would be great if you experts with zero uploads of your own would take the time to point out exactly what it is you're criticizing instead of just leaving vague negative comments.
Coin whisperer here from FMDF! Thx for the video! As you know I’m a yard hunter and I’m a coin shooter
Hey Vic! Thanks for stopping by! Are you waiting on a D2 or do you already have one?

Thanks for sharing the program, nice job👋👍
Very nice. I used something similar on the D1 and have absolutely cleaned up a few parks. The only change I made was to XY. Really like the XY.
Thanks. I used the XY a lot on my D1 as well. Haven’t even tried it yet on my D2 .

You are absolutely right. I have a flying eagle in my collection and once I adjusted the notch it came in as a 76 VDI. I appreciate your help Brother
How the heck can a beginner know which buttons to push when your blocking them from the video ?

Can you adjust the tone break, tone pitch with the Ws6 headphones only no remote ?
I haven't tried it, but I would think so.
Thanks I just loaded it in pretty easy I’ll try it the stock tones are not my favorite
I like the Square Tone option for coin shooting. They sound a lot like the Equinox. I believe the General program has PWM tones by default.
Just added this program after updating cause it erased my previous one. Thought I'd try something new. Haven't taken it out yet, but tested with some coins. Seems to block out silver war nickels. How to fix?
War nickel ID can vary a lot. You might try accepting 59-68 for the nickel window.

Where do the “fatty” flying eagles and 1859 to 1864 Indians read on the Deus 2? Won’t your notch setting knock them out?

I get trimes at 83, so using this programs notch doesn’t knock out 3 cent pieces
