Basement Bedroom Remodel: A Fresh Perspective

In this video I will be going over the process of removing my chimney (both fireplaces), installing an egress, and fully renovating my bedroom with a walk-in closet.
Starting with a sledge hammer on the roof, I work my way down through the first floor and into the basement. The old fireplace will be the entryway into the walk-in closet. After demo is done I install steel studs 2 inches away from the foundation. These work great because they are light, mold resistant, and much cheaper than wood studs. I sealed my rim joists and foundation walls with a closed cell spray foam insulation. I used the froth pak. If you have a small room it may be cheaper to use these kits, however they go much faster than you think and you may want to look into hiring a company to do the work for you. After that I finished insulating the walls with regular insulation, hung drywall, and spent way to much time mudding.. again. The egress was such a blast to install and I cover a lot of the process in the END of the video. Please please please do a considerable amount of research before doing anything like this as a lot can go wrong.
I've been researching how different layouts of your personal space can have a play in how well you think. Lighting color, ceiling height, natural lighting, either pictures of nature/a window with a good view/or even blues & greens around you, the way your desk is facing, and most importantly a constant small change in your environment too. It doesn't have to be much but the bigger the change the better. So a goal of mine this upcoming year is to make a least one change in my "spaces" per month. You should give it a try too and just see what happens.

Herculean task and perseverance- outstanding. I still can’t understand your municipality requiring foliage around your egress well- goes against the 2018 IRC and 2021 ICC codes.
