I didn't try the CC one, but have tried to foil with deco foil and glue and all of that🙄 but by far love my glimmer! I also have tried foiling with dies and I am head over heels in love with this machine💜

Oh my gosh! That was so effortless! I have the AG foil machine and I NEVER use it, I've never had good results, so I gave up and it's now an expensive dust collector 😬

I just got this exact machine and bundle that came with it. It has been sitting there over a week waiting to be played with. I hope I can get good results like you did. I will have to start collecting foil and plates.

You sound so excited! I have had the Crafter's Companion machine for a few years but shamefully have never taken it out of the box. I am going to have to soon. Hopefully I can get it to work for me.
I hope you do get it out. It takes practice, trial runs...but once you have the timing down, it works well. This machine takes a lot of the guess work out, which is really great!!
I was so impressed I purchase me one it’s on the way can’t wait to try it.

TBH, it was a bit of a hassle with the CC system, although I got it to work. I AM IN LOVE with the Glimmer! I will definitely use it more often, as it's so easy! Yay!!
I have the first iteration of the Glimmer Foil System from Spellbinders, and it’s very comparable to what you just received. It had the pick up tool just like yours. I love the machine, and glad I got it over the CC one. I hope you enjoy it.
Having both now (of course, just beginning with this one)...the Glimmer is far and away better! I'm glad you saved your dollars and got this one to begin with! TYSM!
I wasn't sure if I wanted to invest in one & not use it much. But, after seeing the results you got from the Spellbinders machine, I just may acquire one. I love foil on projects. Especially if you can use our regular dies with it. Be well, be safe & TYFS

The foil looks awesome. I have the CC Foilpress and its a hit and miss especially with other dies that are not CC dies. I may have to spring for a new machine but can't do it now. Saving for vacation! Thanks for the review!

I have both the glimmer and the Gemini version and find I use my glimmer most of the time. I also suggest not to put the plates on the platform until you are ready to run it through the platinum. Those plates can shift when taking the platform out and can mess up the glimmering. Speaking from experience

Vianney! Love that you got the glimmer! So enjoy your videos. For once you are not influencing me, as I already have the Glimmer. LOL! Actually I have both systems, but I have the best results with the Glimmer, even when I use CC foil plates.

I have CC and hated ,it is leaving foil spots all over card stock all the time,it is hard to do clean,nice foil press on the card.
So far it is best result I have seeing ,will think about to switch for Spellbinders system ,doesn’t look to complicating to do it, thank you.
I bought my spellbinders for $79.00 at Hobby Lobby and it had the same elements in the box.

FWIW, I have both (don’t judge, 😆). The Gemini works best with as good or better results for me when using CC papercraft foil, the foil press and the Gemini jr. The Gemini is almost a closed system. Obviously you can use other foil stamps but other foil brands require higher heat. Which isn’t optimal for the FP plate. You can do it but need to monitor the plate for warping. The reason is the CC foil is set to work a at a lower temp, and using the FP at a higher heat warps the plate. The glimmer, glimmer foil and platinum combo have excellent results. And Spellbinders has many more foil color options. And the glimmer hot foil plate can be used in other machines but not the Gemini.
That's why I said "I tried!" LOL! It will work, but too much guess work. I never had a great go with the CC system even when I stuck just with their products. The Glimmer is my champ!
@@VianneyCreates I have heard CC is discontinuing the foil press. Makes me wonder if they will be coming out with an update that eliminates the challenges.
On no-ooooh, Vianney. You are a bad influence. LOL!!! I haven’t done much foiling as the previous machine and other foil tools haven’t worked well for me. Too much guessing, taping, random foil gets on cardstock, etc, etc. Now I need to have this, which of course means I need the die cutting machine to go with it. I do have a very, very old Big Shot, probably their first creation, I wonder if it will work in that old ugly thing….it would look so much better in the beautiful blue Spellbinders machine. What to do, what to do??? TYFS!

Question - if you foil once and then forget to foil the sentiment - could you add the sentiment to foil - or would that mess up the existing foiling art ?

I am so happy! For me, with the CC machine, it was always trial and error...sometimes worked first time out...other times, only after several tries. This is so good!! Of course, I'll keep working with it, and we will continue seeing how it goes! TYSM, Gina!
I see there's a bronze and a platinum, is the machine color the only difference?
In my opinion, yes. I don't know that the 2.0 is really any different other than it comes with more accessory pieces and color.
Do you think this hot foil machine would go through the big kick? It’s the only hand crank machine I have except for my Gemini

Can you use all dies or do I purchase all new ones?
The glimmer has plates that are made specifically for the machine, but you can run dies through. They just give a very fine line, where actual plates make thicker lines for the images. I hope that makes sense. TY!
