The stock bottom end will most likely survive on all three engines if the oil pump doesn´t explode or suck up air due to oil not draining fast enough from the head. The roraty will be fine since they dont have valvesprings.

      I'll have to research this beast, the highest revving thing i own is a mc22 cbr250rr, max rpm is 20,000 rpm, but im lead to believe the tach reads 500rpm high, and its limiter is actually 19,500. Still very impressive for a 30 year old bike with 60,000km on the engine to still be able to reliably rev right out under full load often, every time its ridden. Im actually scared that when it does need a rebuild, it will become less reliable after someone who isnt honda has been inside the engine

      TheCU7R4Z05 Mk2 killed by Valve float. It technically able to rev higher but your valve train needs to be upgraded to camless design or Koenigsegg Freevalve system.

      Lin Chester you don't have to go camless. Stiffer valve springs prevents valve float. Also a shorter stroke crankshaft can also make an engine rev higher.

    The important things are the mass of the reciprocating parts (pistons & rods), the crankshaft needs to be fully balanced, and the engine should have solid lifters (standard hydraulic lifters can't handle it) and stiffer valve springs to stop valve float.
    Also most engines won't make much more power just from increasing the Rev limit, because the intake/exhaust & cams are set up for best performance at lower RPMs.
    Finally, the engine needs to have a better oil & cooling system to support the high RPMs.

    This is the way I see it. Porsche, with its H-6, 4.0 Liters is capable of a 9000 r.p.m. red limit and producing 500 horsepower. That's 125 horsepower/Liter. I know Honda could create a 3.8 Liters variants of the J-series engine, hell, make it DOHC, with a 10,000 r.p.m. red limit, over engineering the living crap out of it, and pushing it to a new standard in h.p./Liter output: say 140 horsepower/Liter. Something truly mind blowing, like Honda did with the S2000. You would have an engine with an output of +530 horsepower out of a V6. What car would it be in? Nothing but the NSX. Keeping the weight down at 3000lbs, nothing fancy, other than offering a 9-speed dual clutch manual, along with Honda reliability, would have the car world rethinking again about what a sports car is.
    I'm all for new technology. But I'm sorry, battery powered technology is heavy and and according the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics will eventually break down chemically, from a solid state point of view. The new Porsche GT-2 is already coming close to 918 numbers in performance, at a fraction of the cost.

    As Russian, i'm really proud of our engines and engineers. Yeah, they old af (engine block came with little modifications back from 1970s with Lada 2101), but nowadays, there Lada Vesta's and Granta's with 21126, 21128 engine in it and oh boy, what an engine it is. Easy to repair, reliable, cheap, economic. My friend has Lada Priora with 21126 engine, "evil" camshafts, ITB's, new cylynders, ECU Tuning etc. 9k+ RPMs (9500 is quite damaging, so he revs only to 9000 max). On Dyno he got 165 hp from an N/A engine, that is when stock has 98hp... With little weight, it's quite a beast on a road.
    I'd say, lada's egines are like 90's japanese engines, like 4A, B/K series, but cheaper. Waaaay cheaper. You can buy it's "Sporty" modification from Lada Kalina Sport/Granta Drive Active for just 30.000 rubles or 480 dollars. And it has around 120 hp and 7000+ rpms redline in stock!

      Are you familiar with how they destroked the 21213 engine to achieve that undersquared setup? Is there like a different crank shaft from a different engine to swap into?

    • @n0temalex
      @n0temalex Рік тому

      @@Velocitist 21213 have new (at the time) crank shaft, designed specifically for that engine. Longer stroke length, better repairability. You easily can do engine overhaul twice on 21213.
      So basicly, engineers in Lada, designed a new crank shaft for 21213. :p
      p.s that's all i know about it :p

      h22 would come last in mind honestly when considering all the honda 4 banger engines. h/f series are known to be the big block honda 4 banger. they offer the biggest displacement with the k series going up to 2.4 from factory but unlike k series, h/f series aint rev happy. it makes alot of torque but power is flatter and dies off quicker almost like a honda single cam would like d series and h/f sohc. as for hondas highest revving, uve got the k series, f20c and f22c in the s2k (completely different from other h/f series), and the king of them all the b series. nothing beats a short stroke type r block (b16b, 18c5, and 18cR jdm) paired with a pr3 high flow head. NOTHING

  • @bannablitz247
    @bannablitz247 6 років тому +1

    5:25 if peak torque was 289lb-ft then by my calculations peak power was just over 8k rpm and it made 440hp at 8k. This means peak power was likely around 440 @8k if it never revved higher.

      Don't forget the Yamaha FZR250RR Exup, one of which I owned about 20 years ago. It made me cringe when I initially ventured north of 10,000 rpm but it lapped it up & was as reliable as any other bike. Nothing much happened below about 12,000 rpm anyway so you had to rev it to get any worthwhile forward momentum lol. Not only that but you should've heard it on an aftermarket race muffler as it neared 20,000 rpm ;-) Only about 40 bhp but what a fun bike.

    You forgot the BMW S14 engine, which, in DTM spec, also was able to reach 10.000rpm. The M10 engine was used in formula 1 and was revving well above 10k. Also motorcycle engines might deserve a note because most, even the cheap ones, rech far beyond 10k.

      filip sebalj Have you ever been near this car ???
      I have... many times... and NO... ITS NOT FAKE !!!
      All people on the internet say the same thing over and over again... and NONE of you have seen it or hear it in person...
      These sh!t started from some Americans because the car was going for a world record (and at that time Americans had it)...
      In that journey many videos came out... lots of parts broken... and lots of parts changed or tuned...
      Now the car is a de-stroked 4G63... from 2 lt to 1.8 lt... turbo... and YES its revvs that high !!!
      Some time ago the car made a world record pass... everyone (especially Americans) didnt believe it... they said that the time wasnt on the video with the car so its just a video montage... people showed them the same video from different angles with the time in the same frame...
      Next they started saying that the track was shorter than 402m (1/4 mile)... people uploaded videos with the track being measured... nop... that wasnt enough...
      Next they said go to an international and proven drag track... they went to Malta International Racetrack... and did a better record...
      And now they are saying "bring the car to USA and claim the record in front of us... against our world record cars"...
      OK... this BS and all this hate has to stop... its getting very annoying at every video on UA-cam... especially from people that they dont have a clue of what they are saying...
