Damiano said in an interview he has a malformation on his vocal chords hence the raspiness. Even his speaking voice sounds raspy. But even with that rasp his voice is so powerfull, clear and unique. Trastevere is an amazing song for his voice😊
An interesting thing about Damiano, is that he has malformed vocal chords. He told this in an interview before, and even showed us a video of them on his instagram stories (traumatizing fandom in doing so ;-) ). Essentially he has a hole in his vocal chords that causes his distinctive voice.
So interesting!
Yeah it's wild hey cos everyone thought it was smoking. But the only way I can try to emulate it is just by forcing more air through at pace. It doesn't hurt & I can get my regular voice back after. I gotta warm up though
What a wonderful reaction! You're amazing, Beth! I'm absolutely in love with Damiano's voice! It's unique in so many ways... ❤
Really great, great reaction! Loved it!
I've been watching dozen of reactions, and your is amazing!
I really like the way you put it all together, the singing analysis, the band's story and versions info, etc!
Can't wait for more reactions to their songs!
I can’t find a band performing live as good as Maneskin. They’re incredible
I loooved the Madcon version, but ever since I heard this for the first time I've been absolutely obsessed.
This now haas over one and a half billion streams.
Thank you so much Beth
While I enjoy this cover, I think Damiano's voice is so much better showcased in their other songs. I would love to see some of their original songs on this channel too! :)
Awesome Beth. I love this version. Thank you for your reaction. Keep going!!!!
I absolutely love the original, but this is the first I've heard of either cover. I really like what Maneskin did with it. Now, I have to go check out the Madcon version ... and probably look up the changes for my own eventual cover. :)
how much I miss these reactions on Maneskin and their performances.
I loved your Torna Casa video - could you do more? The Loneliest? Coraline? (the San Remo version is wonderful!) Zitti E Buoni? Love your channel! (And thank you for all the little tidbits you added in with graphics!)
Oh yes! Not very familiar with this 'international band' but that's what I love about Beth's coverage...she drags this old American into the modern international music world! 😁 Thanks! P.S. Really like their sound!
You should listen to some of their earlier songs in Italian.
@TheMule71 thanks...will do. Heard they're from Italy so imagine their sound is even better in their native language
@@carolmartin4413 Let's say... different. They explored different genres or different flavors of rock... try Torna a Casa, Vent'anni, Morirò da Re, Nel Nome del Padre, Coraline, Le Parole Lontane, actually every song from their album "Teatro d'ira: Vol. I", and you'll see what I mean.
@@TheMule71 I also really like Il Dono della Vita from their most recent album Rush, and Mark Chapman (that second one plays with rhythm in the instruments, that gives you the feel of something chasing you, relating the notion of being stalked which the song is about.)
@@liliaeth Idk, everything from Rush! (except may be for The Loneliest) feels better refined but less inspired than their earlier songs. Like hearing a well excuted recipe, the result of a job well done by pros rather than raw work of art driven by insipration.
Feels like they went to studio 8am - 5pm, went home thinking about anything else than their album, while Il Ballo della Vita or Teatro d'Ira sounds like something you'd write at 4 am sitting with friends making pasta, drinking wine and wasting time...
It feels like Marlena never came back home, and they're making music nonetheless because it's their job now... if you know what I mean.
They are good at it, by all means, it's just not the same.
Finally Damianooo, happy to subscribe and learn all this details, thanks❤🇨🇭
Thanks for subbing!
I LOVE your enthousiasm,beth...(sorry for my bad english)...💕💕💕💕💕🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🎼🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎤🎸🎷🎹🎻🥁🥁🎺🎺🎶🎼🎶🎶🎵
Un miliardo su spotify e 24 milioni su you tube non mi sembra poco per questa canzone dei maneskin ❤🇮🇹
Thank you beth. Beautiful eyes 😍 🩷🩷❣️💞💓
Thank you bellissima Beth, beautiful eyes 🌹. Ciao Ciao from Sicily
🇮🇹😎 Italian talent
I would love to see more of your vocal analysis of them! Especially with Damiano's vocals being so recognizable. He's said before that he has a malformation in his vocal chords - essentially, a hole. It supposedly causes the raspy sound, and I imagine he has to make a conscious effort to make his voice sound clean, instead of raspy. Sort of the opposite of what you'd expect. That's my understanding, at least - you see the raspiness much more proeminently in his older stuff, too, like he has learned to control it better. I would love to hear you explain it, though. I'm sure it would make more sense. Cheers!
His speaking voice is also very raspy!
You should react to IDLES - Beachland Ballroom (from the basement session!), AMAZINGLY expressive voice.
05:50 We also use the rolled r in Portuguese.
Remember the Ratatata is pronounced that way also by us hispanics. But Hispania was also part of Rome (Spain) ❤. Greetings from Panama, Latinamerica.
Please more Maneskin! My fav performance is "Your nobody till somebody loves you" from theirs XFactor times. Hands down!

Hey Beth! I discovered your channel recently through a video reacting to Alceu Valença, a wonderful Brazilian singer, and I would like you to react to Ney Matogrosso or Roupa Nova! The Roupa Nova group it's one of the best vocal groups in Brazil and they've won many awards abroad too. I believe they are like the Eagles of Brazil, listen to "Sapato Velho", it's beautiful! You can found some videos of them singing in english too, like "Yesterday", "Hey Jude" or "My sweet lord". 😉
Many thanks from Italy :)
What, a Scotish girl that can't RRRRRRRRRoll her R's, Beth you are full of surprises!
One thing that American tend to underestimate Damiano is not a native English speaker and it S extremely difficult rap so fast when is not your mother tongue
It's impressive when people can rap well in their own language. This guy is top level.
While this is good, their songs in italian are simply amazing.
