If she didn’t have that back injury she would 100% be on the team and would be a world champion by now.
What happened?
@@ansaksa I looked it up and it said she had a really bad fall at classics and left in a wheelchair and it said she tore her Achilles
@@ansaksa in 2022 she won the national championships (in August I believe), and then suffered a back injury that required surgery and kept her out of the world championships that year. She also underwent hand surgery that left her unable to train vault and bars for a really long time. All together I think it set her back 8 months or so, but she was a lock for that world team and would have walked away with at least a team gold. I cannot wait to watch her comeback she deserves everything!!!

It’s heartbreaking how many gymnasts had injuries this year who could have made the Olympic team.
There are so many Olympic-level gymnasts who will never actually be in the Olympics because of injuries, poor timing, one bad performance, etc. It’s sad that only the Olympics team gets attention. They absolutely deserve that attention, but I still feel bad for the other world-class gymnasts who never nabbed an Olympic spot.
I know about Konnor McClain and Gabby Douglas. Who else missed out?

This is why I think it's smart to make sure your kids do NOT shout about their big dreams from the rooftops. Because the adults around her encouraged her to say it on Steve Harvey, now this statement just follows her around and people keep bringing it up. It's like when Dominique Moceanu signed off as '1996 Olympic all around champion for sure' and Bela kept on telling that story.
There is literally no benefit to announcing you want to be AA champ 10 years before it happens. So many things can happen between now and then. And at worst, it will impact your mental health negatively, as the angle will always be 'oh she didn't achieve her dreams' instead of just 'she is a fabulous gymnast'.
I beg to differ. Speaking about your goals, keep them real and uppermost in your mind. All leadership guru's tell you the importance of speaking about your goals. This young woman has stuck to her goals and that in itself is a worthy feat. She will be back
