"You can't break this leg. Well, you can, but it won't hurt as bad." That's making lemonade, for sure.
I'd say she passed lemonade and went straight to lemon lollipops. Absolutely amazing
Can break that leg and her real 1 at the same time. As a amputee I have done both when I was a kid
She's SO smart and mature for her age. Certainly was raised right. 👏🙂
Agreed! You can tell that her folks did not have pity on her and raised her to be no different than anyone with two whole legs. Thats the way to do it. If a child is raised being told they are disabled they will always feel limited. if they are raised to think they are no different than anyone else, the sky is the limit.
Avery was frozen in her tracks at her idol, but I’m willing to bet she went home and hasn’t shut up about this since it happened! ❤😂
This absolutely beautiful child deserves gold in the Olympics. She has turned a disability into an ability and she has humility and grace as well. I wish her every success for her future. ❤xx with love from Australia 🇦🇺
Well whoever performs the best deserves the gold, but she definitely is a champion for soldiering through losing a leg and kicking ass.
This is fantastic. She is a beautiful person 🎉.
I don't do any types of sports. I am a 64 year old, and out of shape ol man. I find this angle a great inspiration. You can see it in her eyes. God Bless, and may she make it to the Olympics, and succeed.
This world and country needs more stories like this rather than what the media wants to push.
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH STEVE HARVEY.
Hello, you may already know of this story about a young lady from 2017-2018. She is a flautist in her High School Band. In her senior year she became the section leader of flutes. Her name is Hitomi Kanamaru or Kanemaru. There are hundreds of videos of her band on the UA-cam and her story is on the www too. She attended Kyoto Tachibana (a wild Mandarin type of orange tree) Senior High School Brass Band Club during the years of 2015-2018. Here are the titles of three videos that she is prominent in. Just copy & paste to the address bar,

Amazing young lady. May she see the Olympics sooner than later and shine like a champion she is.
She is very brave, first meeting her hero then performing in front of her her, so much pressure but she nailed it! Wonderful! 😃
As someone who is't particularly a fan of gymnastics, but seeing someone doing what's difficult WITHOUT a handicap is just amazing.
Keep going strong Averie. You're definitely an inspiration. You have millions of people so proud of you.
She'll be in the Olympics one day. And it'll be COOL!!!
She would dominate in special Olympics, but she doesn't consider herself disabled, so competes against to non-disabled athletes.

She is so overwhelmed

Just ignore the negativity if you believe in your heart that you can do it then that’s all that matters the best way to shut up the naysayers is to prove them wrong just keep believing even though i don’t know you but I believe in you and have faith in you head up and prove them wrong you got this
What a beautiful, talented and sweet young lady!! I wish her the very best in her pursuit of that gold medal!! I am sure Lauren Hernandez has a new best friend, I hope they stay in contact with each other and they continue to inspire each other and so many others!

An amazing young lady , I hope to see her compete in the olympics in years to come
She'll Be At The Right Age In 4yrs For The Olympics!
An amazing young lady.❤👍
Girl you be you. We need more of you out there
Avery You're going places
AN EIGHT-year-old girl, who has a prosthetic leg, was at the top of a slide at an amusement park when an attendant yelled “you can’t go down”.
Averie Mitchell, who competes in gymnastic tournaments and flies in a trapeze at a circus acrobats’ summer school, and her mum Kim walked all the way back down the slide to speak to the lead attendant at Frontier City’s Wild West Water Works in Oklahoma City, the capital of the State of Oklahoma.
This one of the best presentations on this show. Hope this little Angel fulfills her dreams and make the Olympics. Btw, Laurie isn't aging. Still looks bubbly and young.
wonderful story and thanks for letting us share in it
go averie!
That young girl has a damn good head on her shoulders!
She's going places.
This reminds me of a Japanese girl, not an athlete, but a musician who played the flute in a marching band - Kyoto Tachibana Senior High School Band.
She and the band participated in the Pasadena Rose Parade, New Year's Day 2018.
She was born with one leg and one without the lower part, and did exactly the same as everyone else in the band.
Kyoto Tachibana SHS Band is not an ordinary marching band that just marches, but they dance, jump and spin while playing (and also singing).
The Rose Parade is 5.5 miles (8.9 km) long and takes about 2 hours to complete, and to do that with a prosthetic leg is an incredibly strong achievement..
As if that wasn't enough. She also attended the 2020 Rose Parade with another band and completed the parade that time as well.
Anyway, I was impressed and inspired by her the first time I saw a video of KT, just like I was by this little gymnast, and yet I have no disabilities.
To one Oklahoma from another Oklahoma. You keep up the good work and hopefully one these days you will be in the Olympics and winning that gold medal. Good luck
Respect,continue elevating even more/blessings queen
This inspirational to the world and if you believe you can achieve . No obstacles to hard to pass by and believe in yourself and take your dream an inspiration for other to follow along with you .
