    Loved it. I have a few questions. For example do you cut your own wood? And can you make an instructional video how to set up.

    • @AroundtheHouse
      @AroundtheHouse  4 роки тому

      Thanks for the question Jackie. I buy a large sheet of plywood and cut it down to size on the table saw. You can also use a straight edge and a circular saw. For the trim pieces I use 1x2’s and cut them to size with a miter saw. This video shows the process, just a little different frame ua-cam.com/video/e1G1phBrIwU/v-deo.html. I’ll try to get a new video showing it all soon 😀

    Which kind of vinyl did you use? I recently got a cricut and starting experimenting because I’ve always hand written all my signs. I used a Oracal 651 to put my stencil on my board but it peaked some paint off.

      Aracely See, just a suggestion, but 651 is permanent vinyl and that’s why you’re paint is coming off with your vinyl. Try using 631 which is removable.

    Is a project panel something you buy at Menards or Lowes ? Is that what it is called?

    • @AroundtheHouse
      @AroundtheHouse  3 роки тому

      Thanks so much for the question Karen. I didn't know what these were either a year ago. You can find project panels in the plywood area at Lowes or Home Depot. They are plywood but just smaller. So most plywood is sold 4 ft by 8 ft. The project panels come in 2 ft by 2 ft and 2 ft by 4 ft. So just smaller and easier to handle. 😊

    I love all of this!! and I have so many questions for you! what kind of vinyl and transfer tape do you use. that transfer tape peeled right of without pulling the vinyl with it! Also what nail gun are you using and what size of nails? if you don't mind me asking. Thanks!!

    • @AroundtheHouse
      @AroundtheHouse  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Kara thanks for asking. I just linked all the supplies I use in the video description. I’ve tried a lot of transfer paper and vinyl and I now only use the ones I listed because I had problems with others. I forgot to link to the gun and nails I use and will do that soon. I use a Bostitch 18 gauge Brad nailer with 1inch nails. Make sure your nails are just slightly larger than your frame boards. If you have to long of nails they run the risk of curving and coming out the front of your sign. Please let me know if you have any more questions and have fun making signs 😊

      Great question Octavia. I used my Bostitch 18 gage nailer. Also make sure you use wood glue as well to hold on the frame. I didn't in this video and 6 months later the frames started coming loose on some of these signs so now I always use wood glue.

      Good question, for the long boards I use my 12 x 24" vinyl. I varied the sizing depending on how it looked best, making sure to leave enough room on the edges to show a bit of a white around it.

    Do you have a cut list for the 1x2s

    • @AroundtheHouse
      @AroundtheHouse  5 років тому +1

      I cut these to fit so you will want to cut the plywood first and then cut the 1x2's to fit the plywood. The sides should be the same height as the plywood and the top and bottom will be about 1 inch longer than the width of the plywood.
