My cheap grandparents bought it for us one Christmas and I remember the whole family (parents included) sitting down to watch it and wondering wtf this was. We had the Anastasia one too, but it wasn't until I found your videos years later that I realized what a truly cancerous abomination Dingo was. Thank you for all of these good times!!

The existence of an _Aristocats_ knockoff probably seems even more ironic to people who suspect _The Aristocats_ of ripping off an even older animated movie about French cats, _Gay Purr-ee_ .
Dingo probably made this because Aristocats was fairly popular in Germany, due to some similarities with Disney's Jungle Book (it had some of the same voice actors, had songs and was a child-friendly romance). I wonder why they never ripped off the Jungle Book, though...

I thought it was good, even if I can't remember all the details. XD The animation was nice the colors where nice, I liked the two main leads even if, again i can't remember them much. That's what I remember most from it, I think for a kids film it did it's job decently enough.

I have a theory about this movie: Lucy found out Charlie is seeing her mother behind her back and she became so heartbroken that she ran away and got adopted by the Captain Crunchbone who went to America in Pocahontas where she met and fell in love with Wabuu, hoping he will help her cope and forget.
Y'know, I Actual Lee do remember a very brief period in the mid-90s where Aristocats was popular. I think it had just been released on home video, maybe even for the first time. But even then it wasn't super popular, I just remember people suddenly singing the "Everyone Wants to be a Cat" song, really. Even today, with Nostalgia babies pretending it's always been one of their favorite movies it seems like that's the only part anyone ever references. Damn.

Personally, I feel Dingo should have probably stuck with their old style. I mean, at least they could have the excuse of having a cute "gimmick" of wanting to give the feel of a mother telling a story to a child, what wouldnt be terrible for a children movie. I still wouldnt compare then to Disne, but it would have been a cute gimmick. EDIT: Not to mention, is it just me, or despite having exactly one voice actor on this film, the voice actress actually puts more emotion then in later films?

Had this insane French Foreign Legion officer who had a bit of a vendetta against the main cast for various reasons. Infamous for its slightly out of place Phil Collins soundtrack though.

I saw this and started to cheer to the heaven! HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO ME! THANK YOU PHELOUS! As for the Aristicats itself, it was made during what would consider the 'dark' ages of Disney after the death of Walt but the fact that it was able to make its money back is considered good. I actually enjoyed the movie and the style used for it. Some may call it messy but the setting as well as the jazz sound track is what makes it pop. As well as that, Marie has become sort of the Hello Kitty to Disney as she became MASSIVELY popular as a mascot decades after this movie came out. So much so they that usually forget about fucking Toulouse and Berlioz. I mean, fuck. They just RECENTLY got their Tsum Tsums while Marie has been a part of the line for YEARS. Now going on to NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE CAAAAAATS. It honestly feels like most of the plot was taken from Lady and the Tramp, most importantly the part after Lady is muzzled and gets lost in the city only to be helped by Tramp. They even have the fucking dining scene ala Lady and the Tramp as well in this though the whole 'cats get lost and then returned to their home' is a massive theme in Aristicats as well though there was another act concerning Edgar (the butler) trying to get rid of them AGAIN to send them to Africa and the whole final fight was against him and the jazz cats. Imagine the fight....animated Dingo style. YEAH, THAT WOULD HAVE WORKED. 6:58 ....What.....the FUCK was that?

I think rather than getting captured by a cat catcher, the movie should have had Lucy fall into a river and go several miles downstream before being rescued by Charlie. That way, it would make better sense for Lucy's family to presume her to be dead and leave her behind.

So I'm really curious... Has anybody ever actually seen any Dingo movies as a kid or just outside of UA-cam without context? If so, how did you come across it and what was your reaction?
I've actually experienced the horror first hand. Many years ago, my parents gave me a video for my birthday present, I guess I was around 8 or 9, it had a prince and a horse and a princess with a sword on the cover and the word "Camelot" in the title, and I was so happy that they'd bought the movie Quest for Camelot for me. Now Quest for Camelot isn't a great classic on par with Disney, but it had good animation and a few catchy songs. So imagine my horror when we started watching the video and saw the Dingo Pictures monstrosity instead. To make matters worse, this version had a horribly dubbed live-action sequence with an old man in a hideous wizard outfit as framing device. My parents stared in confusion and disbelief at what they'd bought while I was heartbroken and felt like my parents had betrayed me. Now I want to see Phelous give that piece of trash movie what it deserves!

Personally, I feel Dingo should have probably stuck with their old style. I mean, at least they could have the excuse of having a cute "gimmick" of wanting to give the feel of a mother telling a story to a child, what wouldnt be terrible for a children movie. I still wouldnt compare then to Disne, but it would have been a cute gimmick. EDIT: Not to mention, is it just me, or despite having exactly one voice actor on this film, the voice actress actually puts more emotion then in later films?

anik monette Tarzan was pretty big for a while, had a TV series that was surprisingly good for a Disney spin off. I think I liked it more than the film itself in many regards. Had this insane French Foreign Legion officer who had a bit of a vendetta against the main cast for various reasons.

I always loved the title of this Dingo Pictures movie because it does not sound like a real title for a movie. It sounds more like someone trying to give a compliment to his friend's felines when he can't think of anything else to say. "Oh they're... uh... nice cats?"

As for the Aristicats itself, it was made during what would consider the 'dark' ages of Disney after the death of Walt but the fact that it was able to make its money back is considered good. I actually enjoyed the movie and the style used for it. Some may call it messy but the setting as well as the jazz sound track is what makes it pop. As well as that, Marie has become sort of the Hello Kitty to Disney as she became MASSIVELY popular as a mascot decades after this movie came out. So much so they that usually forget about fucking Toulouse and Berlioz. I mean, fuck. They just RECENTLY got their Tsum Tsums while Marie has been a part of the line for YEARS.
Now going on to NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE CAAAAAATS. It honestly feels like most of the plot was taken from Lady and the Tramp, most importantly the part after Lady is muzzled and gets lost in the city only to be helped by Tramp. They even have the fucking dining scene ala Lady and the Tramp as well in this though the whole 'cats get lost and then returned to their home' is a massive theme in Aristicats as well though there was another act concerning Edgar (the butler) trying to get rid of them AGAIN to send them to Africa and the whole final fight was against him and the jazz cats.
Imagine the fight....animated Dingo style. YEAH, THAT WOULD HAVE WORKED.

I think rather than getting captured by a cat catcher, the movie should have had Lucy fall into a river and go several miles downstream before being rescued by Charlie. That way, it would make better sense for Lucy's family to presume her to be dead and leave her behind.
According to the title, these are well-behaved rather than nice cats, though I'm astonished the creative minds at Dingo even managed a halfway accurate translation.

Has anybody ever actually seen any Dingo movies as a kid or just outside of UA-cam without context? If so, how did you come across it and what was your reaction?
I've actually experienced the horror first hand. Many years ago, my parents gave me a video for my birthday present, I guess I was around 8 or 9, it had a prince and a horse and a princess with a sword on the cover and the word "Camelot" in the title, and I was so happy that they'd bought the movie Quest for Camelot for me. Now Quest for Camelot isn't a great classic on par with Disney, but it had good animation and a few catchy songs. So imagine my horror when we started watching the video and saw the Dingo Pictures monstrosity instead. To make matters worse, this version had a horribly dubbed live-action sequence with an old man in a hideous wizard outfit as framing device. My parents stared in confusion and disbelief at what they'd bought while I was heartbroken and felt like my parents had betrayed me.
Now I want to see Phelous give that piece of trash movie what it deserves!
