Great gift Gemma, fruit cage looks fabulous. Vince is a great DIY man, every plot needs one, mine is my husband Doug 😂 He doesn't mind being in the background of my videos but doesn't want to be too prominent or talk on them. Loved the planting of Danny the Grapevine in your previous video ❤
Hi Linda, it sounds like Doug is just like Vince ☺️ they like helping but don't want to be centre stage 🥰 Yes im so excited about Danny my grapevine 🍇 hope you're having a great week Linda x
@@GemInTheGardenHi Gemma, we had a fab afternoon at the allotment today. Went earlier to get more work done but Danny popped over and Cheryl from the plot next door. The 4 of us enjoyed a cuppa and natter together, hence not much work happened today 😂 Lovely allotment party though 👍❤️
Wow! A fruit cage! The best thing I’ve ever been given and reused is an old metal boat that wasn’t water tight. A neighbor gave it to my Dad. We filled it with compost and horse manure and now it’s a funtastic raised bed! We plant tomatoes in it. Dad tells everyone he has a boat load of tomatoes. It’s super cute and fun.
Hi Gemma, new subscriber from BrokeFarmer. Love the fruit cage. That would be perfect for my little fruit orchard 😊. A pleasure to meet you. ❤😊thanks for sharing 😊
That is such a great size fruit cage! You found the perfect spot for it! The beds look good where they are too! Your plot looks brilliant! So exciting for you! 🎉🎉👏👏😄👍💕🌸
Fantastic job guys it will be amazing come summer fruit harvests. Vince your a star and I don’t know about home 😂but you never complain on the allotment about all the builds. Have a super weekend guys, keep warm, Ali 🥶🇨🇦
@@GemInTheGarden I’m sure like Gerald and other husbands and partners he gets a charge out of seeing that fabulous smile 😃 when you look at your garden
Hello @BayouShugaGarden 👋 Welcome to my channel, Thank You im really excited about it and looking forward to next growing season 😊 have a great week and Thank You for supporting 👩🏼🌾
Best thing I was given for the garden: toss-up between a 3 tier metal planter….it’s huge and stunning and a large wooden bench that I painted cobalt blue.
Hi Robin, both great gifts to be given! I love getting another use out of something that someone doesn't want or need anymore and giving it another life 😀 have a fab weekend!
I want to make a brassica cage next year as great how I do it but a chore each year setting up the netting.. to be able to walk in will be so much easier
Hi Gemma, looking great & what a gift. When I got mine I was gifted all my fruit bushes (Raspberries/Blackberries/Red & Black Currants/Gooseberries), Jerusalem Artichokes & just recently 5 Asparagus Crowns 😮…. I have exciting news. I’ve bought my tunnel I kept banging on about 😂 went with a different company due to a discount they had but same size as yours 🎉
Hi Vanessa, wow how amazing you got gifted all of your bushes too! That really is amazing!!! 👏 And great news on the new polytunnel! That is so super exciting! Congratulations 🎊 👏 ☺️👩🏼🌾
Wow Gemma, fruit cage looks so good! Vince has worked like a Trojan! 😆💪🏼 So for your question of the day….I think the best thing someone has ever given me for my plot, is my wooden bench I have under the apple tree! Fab video Gem! 😁💚
👋Hi great job on the plot, it has had a total transformation since you took it on. Love hearing about the plans for next year. I think you need a little kelly kettle for the shed so you can make Vince a cuppa after all the hard graft. Thanks for sharing, bfn.🐞🌻🌱
Vince really is a keeper, isn’t he! Just works away in the background! You two make a great team and can’t wait to see how you plot transforms come spring! ❤️ Question of the day - hang some curtains and a bit of bunting to make the shed look cosy. Add a few gardening pics. X
Hi Lynne 👋 Vince is so fab ☺️ we enjoy working as a team so it's always nice to have a bigger project to work on together 🥰 I do have some bunting....what a great idea Lynne, Thank You and have a fab weekend ☺️
Gemma, Your plot looks fantastic from when you first started. Looking forward to see how the fruit cage will look when it’s all planted out. Happy Gardening 🧑🌾 from Southern California.
A decent size cage Gemma. I decided last autumn to build some sort of a cage over my raspberries and thorn less blackberries. It was a pain every couple of days pulling netting off the raised beds I have them in, to remove the fruit. it was worth it as some days I would get a pound of raspberries. But the birds decided they wanted their share, so I need to improve things for next year. I think Vince deserves at least an Irish Coffee to warm his bones. 😃
Hi Loki, I'm super excited about the fruit cage I think they really help in increasing harvests and reducing workload like you say pulling off net can be a real chore! Yes Vince does deserve a nice hot drink ☕️ he was fantastic 👏
Wow! The fruit cage really has changed your space. I think you have the final layout plan finished now. Looks so good. Bless Vince. He’s such a workhorse. I think the best thing I’ve been given is “permission” from Duncan to start a plot in a field 😎😂 Trying to think but I’ve not actually been given anything! 😅😅
Hi Claire 👋 yes I think the layout is finally there, it's been chipped away at so I'm pleased that I can mow focus on growing ☺️ that really made me laugh ha ha Thank You Duncan to agreeing to a plot in a field 🥰🥰🥰
@@GemInTheGarden it was the most important thing to get given for me, that’s for sure. 😂☺️ It’s a lovely plot you’ve created and I’m looking forward to seeing it all in abundance next year
Hi Gemma, a brilliant update, fruit cage is a fantastic size, it has transformed your plot and everything is looking great. Loving the polytunnel too and how you have planted it up 😊🌱👍
Hi Gemma, a mini gas camping stove and kettle would help and 2 folding stools under the shelf/breakfast bar would give you a Cody place in the warm to get out of the rain, your plot is looking great! I also have a Vince well a Gareth! Have a lovely Christmas!
Hi Heidi 👋 That is a really great idea and I will probably do that in the next few weeks 😀 it's great having a Vince/Gareth isn't it ☺️☺️ Thank You and have a fabulous Christmas 🎄
Great job you two! .I have been tinkering in my garden off and on.Hopefully I'm getting a new roof on my house next year. So I don't want things stepped on . I'm on hold for certain things.I harvested some collards and cabbage and waiting on the khorobi to get a little larger. once you tidy up you will get inspiration. Lol ❤ Have a great day
Hi Delphine 👋 Thats exciting you will be getting a new roof 😀 great idea to start doing little bits now to prepare, like you say you don't want anything trod on! Yes hopefuly the inspiration will start coming 🙌 have a fab weekend Delphine 😀
That looks fab and so nice of your Dad's friend! Will you be putting your strawberries in there? You can make those strawberries towers out of the crates with holes in the sides.
