Thank you Will! I tried to do some weeding this morning and everything was too frozen! The highest temperature today was 1 degree Celsius! When I took Grinch to the station it was -3 ! 🥶 😘🌸💕
Thank you so much Robin! Grinch did great with the woodchip! I was worried we were not going to get any before Christmas and I need some to cover our borders in our garden as well as the paths on the allotment. 😘🌸💕
Hi Ali and Tricia! Thank you so much for always checking out our videos. This one was very late as Fluffy was very busy and released it late. Better late than never! 😄👍🌸💕
Wow, your endeavors are going great!!! Plot 9.24 is going to be such a fabulous allotment filled with plants, flowers and memories, all growing beautifully in harmony together 💖 Great job on the woodchips Grinch (and Fluffy too of course) They will be lovely mulch. Your little plant pots look sweet and homely on the plot at a time when there is very little colour and interest. Have a lovely week xx
Thank you so much! I love the name Plot 9.24! I will suggest it to the boys! So far they still want Plot no.9! Neither of them like change! I was so relieved to finally source some woodchip to cover the paths and some of the plants with. It is such a shame it was so much work for Grinch but he did it! He then came down with whatever bug I had ( probably Covid again! It was all the right symptoms!). Wishing you a wonderful week too! 😘🌸💕💕
Looking great ! Can I suggest rather than using your compost bins for all the new plot waste you pile it all up at the end of the new plot and cover with a tarp until you can build compost bins on the new plot . Chopping it up makes a huge difference to how fast it will breakdown .Yeah !! for the woodchip ,well done Grinch . I'm sure you were very proud of Fluffy ❤
That sounds like a good idea! I am hoping we might end up inheriting the bins already there. They are very sturdy! I have started chopping up everything to try to get the composting process going! We also added some manure on the top! 😄👍🌸💕
A good few hours work and you can see an improvement already. I'm looking forward to watching the progress through the Winter. I was kept entertained last Winter as you worked on plot 9, Grinch makes me smile, he makes out he is not happy but I think secretly he is getting great satisfaction from all the hard work he is doing, and we'll done Fluffy for helping with the wood chips. I hope you enjoyed your visit to see Fluffy singing.
Fluff sounded amazing! The choir was just incredible. It brought tears to my eyes! This extension should keep us busy but I don’t think it will be as daunting as Plot no.9 was. It will be ok I am sure. So many ant nests! 😄👍💕🌸
You worked really hard. Plot ni 2 is going to look fabulous 👍 A lovely position for both your plots. Looking forward to seeing how it progresses. Love your giggles and laughter ❤
Thank you so much Linda! Like you, I am so excited about the new extension! It brings us so many new possibilities! I am also looking forward to see what you do with yours! 😄👍💕🌸
😂😂 Grinch Nanou would like a farm. But exciting times ahead 👍👍. I’m thinking the wheelbarrow is perk. But so looking forward to,the expansion. Or you could hang them up for pens and labels. Have a fabulous week guys, Ali 🥶🇨🇦
It is a great idea using the pots for pens and labels, I will do that in the polytunnel! I think you might be right about the wheelbarrow, although we will have to figure out how to remove the big chain and padlock! Funny you should say that, I always said I wanted to be a farmer as a little girl. I am living the dream now 😂🤣😄👍💕🌸
Thanks so much for a great tour of the garden today what you guys are up to hugs and kisses from grandma Sandy and Debbie. Thanks for sharing a wonderful video today.
Thank you so much! We definitely have lots to keep us occupied this winter! The extra room is such a fantastic addition to our plot! Wishing you a lovely week ahead! Lots of love 😘🌸💕💕
I have a stand like that.I LOVE IT! saves my hands from getting tired holding my phone AND iPad. You have to be careful in the wind or when using it for the iPad. It can tilt over if unbalanced. I usually put pillows or something soft around it when im on the porch encase it tilts over.Everthing looks nice and that new area will be tip top in no time.😊
It is a great stand and it didn’t fall in all in that wind that day but I will have to be careful if I put the iPad on it! I just needed an extra stand for when there is two of us on the plot, especially as it is extra long now! The price was good too, with Christmas around the corner, I didn’t want to go mad. I am glad you are enjoying yours! 😄👍🌸💕
I did smile so much when Grinch half filled a compost bin whilst you were busy making the bins look “chirpy” from the polytunnel 😂😂 You both worked so hard!! Just re-instating that path makes so much difference, as the area looks more manageable now. How long before you have a bright idea to turn the shed around 45° so it kind of overlooks both plots? 😜 Great work picking up that woodchip. I can’t believe how far you travelled for it! If only you had a telehandler. Not sure a Fluffy is quite as useful as a tractor, but a close second! I’m starting to see how useful it is, as I take having the machinery for granted. Fabulous episode, as always.
I did think a lot about your tractor when I saw Grinch’ s footage! Far better to have than a Panda! I did wonder what the guy who gave away the woodchip thought when he saw Grinch turning up in a Panda and filming himself shovelling woodchip in bags! 😂🤣😂🤣! The things Grinch does for me! We do have lovely husbands! He was so funny, he did make me laugh! 😄😘🌸💕
Wow! With only sheer determination and ingenuity, Grinch moved that woodchip to the plot. If I were a millionaire (or a decision maker in a big company) I’d send that guy an American truck. If not for that dang Atlantic ocean, ya’ll could have borrowed our farm truck. I’m just so impressed with how much you guys manage to accomplish each week. Well done. I’ve never seen blue mashed potatoes. Did they taste strange?
Thank you so much, you are always so lovely to us! Poor Grinch, he did fantastically with the woodchip. We really needed it and it was free. I just cannot believe how much people sell it for nowadays. We need to be clever on how we buy things now we have a bigger plot. Our little Panda never lets us down but a truck would be a must on a farm! It means so much that you think we are doing lots as we are always worried we haven’t achieved enough! The blue potatoes taste exactly like potatoes! In fact they make a tasty, creamy mash! Such a great colour! I have kept the smaller ones to plant them again next year. We really like them! 😘💕🌸
Clearing the path was important. The council requires the tenants to maintain the smaller paths between plots, although I don’t think they check very often if it is done as that path was never cleared the whole year we have been on Plot n.9! I didn’t even realised there was a path there until our plot neighbour pointed it out to us! 😄👍💕🌸
Again, beautiful timelapse of the sky 😊 Next clear day I get, I will be hoping to capture some similar footage! 😉 Looking forward to seeing how your extension takes shape over the coming months 😃
That day was just beautiful, so sunny and bright apart from the wind. This week, there isn’t a single leaf left on the trees! They all fell at once! Incredible! I love the skies, as you know, timelapses are my favourite! I could watch them for hours hence why I sneak in so many on the videos! I am looking forward to see yours next week! 😄👍🌸💕
Well done both of you, bit by bit you will get there. Was so impressed to see how much bark chippings you got in a little car. I use the big sturdy shopping bags , from the supermarket. They stack well on top of each other when full of bark chippings. 😊
That is a good point about the shopping bags! We never thought of that and I have so many of them! It is amazing how much you can fit in a Panda once you fold the back seats out of the way! 😘💕🌸
Thank you so much! We always like to keep busy and we never do anything simply but we always have a good laugh! Grinch still cannot believe I still have all my fingers! 😄😘🌸💕
It really wasn’t easy moving all that woodchip but it was free. I have been looking around for some and I just cannot believe how much it is sold for nowadays! Such a shame that tree surgeon never came back. 😘💕🌸
With the speed you guys work at you’ll have the second plot cleared in no time at all. Just in time to start in the third plot 😉. I have to admit I had the same problem as Grinch. I filled up a huge builder’s bag full of leaves and couldn’t get it in the car. Typical man behaviour as my wife calls it 🤣.
😂🤣 Grinch always think he is stronger than he is! 😂🤣. I have to admit, I don’t think we would take on a third one! Not with our home garden as well. I have been working flat out and I still haven’t finish all the jobs I needed to do before the cold set in and now the cold is here😱🥶!!! I still haven’t lifted the dahlias, I think I might have lost them… I work half a day tomorrow so I will try to do it then 😩🤞. Thank you Adam 😘💕🌸
Congratulations on your new plot! 🎉It looks like the middle of the summer in your video 😍 And what a beautifull orange pumpkin 👍 how did you cook it? 😃
Hi Anastasia! Thank you very much! Here we are clearing weeds again but it is very exciting to have more space! That pumpkin was 7kg! I made a sweet pumpkin pie, a pumpkin and vegetable soup, a pumpkin, leek and blue cheese quiche and a vegetables and pumpkin gratin topped with blue potatoes mash out of it! It was incredible! I have 6 more pumpkins in the garage! Just brilliant! I want to grow a proper pumpkin patch in the new plot next year! We just love them so much! 😄👍💕🌸
You are right, it is only half the width of Plot no.9, maybe even a little less. Our plot neighbour explained that the plots used to go right down to the hedge until the ground maintenance guy complained it wasn’t enough room to cut the hedge so the council just created that big path all around the site for a tractor to go all around to trim the hedges. It made all the plots on the hedge smaller, although our plot neighbour also said they didn’t make the rent smaller with it! He is annoyed about it as he lost some of his plot space by them doing that! This is another reason why nobody wanted this plot, it is the smallest one on the site, but we don’t mind about that. The size is just perfect for us, it just gives us some extra room without being overwhelming! 😄👍💕🌸
I hope you are right! We could do with the extra compost bins! I feel I need to ask as the previous owner chained everything up and wrote her name on the wheelbarrow. The lady at the council hasn’t got back to me yet. Hopefully she says we can keep it🤞🤞😘💕🌸
Would you like a plot tour? Is it something other gardeners like to watch? I have never actually done one. I will do one at some point. It might be a little boring as we have mulched most of the beds now apart from the artichokes that are still going strong. Thank you very much for the suggestion. Have a lovely week 😘🌸💕
Congratulations on your new plot. Great effort and start. In beautiful sunshine. I have subscribed to follow your journey as I'm starting up a channel. Can I ask for a link for the phone holder you bought as it looks handy. I haven't filmed like that before. Thank you, 😊
Hi! Thank you so much for checking out our video and a very warm welcome to our channel! I wish you a great start to your channel! I will definitely check it out! At first, filming is a bit daunting but you soon get to enjoy it, especially because the gardening community on UA-cam is so welcoming! I am very happy with my new phone tripod. It is very easy to use and it isn’t too expensive. Poor Grinch! He was so good! The woodchip being free gave him the incentive to collect it! Everyone seem to sell woodchip for so much money nowadays! We were lucky to find that much for free. The guy was thrilled to get his garden cleared! Unfortunately Fluffy was only home for a couple of hours to pick up some clothes. Grinch was happy to get that little bit of help at least. I was in bed once again with symptoms similar to Covid, now Grinch has it… it is definitely the bug season! 😄👍🌸💕
High five to Grinch on the wood chip saga!!
He did amazing! I wasn’t sure he would go back the next day but he did. He is the best! 😄👍🌸💕
Grinch, you should have a medal for doing that big wood chip haul!
You are absolutely right! Bless him, he did so well! Thank you very much! 😘🌸💕
Well done Nanou and Grinch for getting stuck in to your 2nd plot.....you'll soon whip that in to shape!! Keep up the good work! 🙂💚💪
