Lyrics:
We barely remember who or what came before this precious moment
We are choosing to be here, right now
Hold on, stay inside
This holy reality
This holy experience
Choosing to be here in
This body, this body holding me
Be my reminder here that I am not alone in
This body, this body holding me
Feeling eternal, all this pain is an illusion

LISTENING TO THIS ALBUM FOR THE FIRST TIME AND HOLY SHIT
Welcome to the club random gay boy hahahaha
A holy shit smells just like sulfur...
Random Gay Boy welcome to the other side!🍻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Literally read this comment right now it's the first time I'm listening to Tool.... I feel you mate 😊😊
I remember listening this during the 9/11 era I worked in a cd store Sam goodies and they played this album. I was like this music is fucking amazing
I was familiar with tool I heard undertow opiate but after that i forgot about them
Than this album dropped I was in love again
Parabola has to be one of the best songs Tool has to offer

Why does no one ever talk about the guitar solo in this song. It may be simple, but it's one of the coolest solos I've ever heard
I’d love to know exactly how he got that sound
@@coopergoss350 I played this live in a tool cover band. I used a bogner tubed line 6 head to get the sound to almost perfect when we covered this.

Love how Tool just dropped all their music on digital platforms like nothing lol.
lol yeah they're like : OK HERE LISTEN HAPPY NOW??!!
They are dropping a new album end of August. It only makes sense to put their whole catalog on the internet.
Perfect time to do it. New album being released, title track released. Take advantage of it and drop everything in as many places as possible. Perfect move.
What else they should've done, release one song per month?
except for Salival...
As someone who contemplated suicide many times in his years, this song really hits different than when I first heard it. This is an extremely positive song for me, I love it.
Thanks for still being here with us we all love you neotha😢
Bruh I timed the transition from Prabol to Parabola perfectly just to get an ad

Bro the actual Parabol+Parabola is on Tool's channel, just go search it

Try Gojira. Their album The Way of All Flesh is my favorite. That Parabol/Parabola transition, there's something similar between Esoteric Surgery and Vacuity. I'd bet all my money they are huge Tool fans

Getting “We are eternal, All this pain is an illusion” with my best friends birth and death date tattooed on me tomorrow after his funeral. This was our favorite Tool song we’d always listen to while taking our long night drives and constantly analyzing this song. Love you bud, Rest In Peace Bartosz❤️ 9/14/95-9/13/19
God Speed Bartosz.
Your friend was my age, only born three months before me. Horrible to die so young. Don't mourn too much though, I can only guess he wouldn't want you too. Sometimes its hard. I know it is. I've lost too. But theres so much in world thats beautiful, like your man. Live through his positive influence, and he'll truly live forever.

I'm not the biggest Tool fan, but even I can admit this is one of the BEST songs I've ever heard.
The lyrics are insanely deep!!
Why are you not a big fan if i may ask
@@tristanstafford2519 Musically speaking, they simply didn't click with me. Which is funny because I love prog metal and experimental music.
From an Objective standpoint, I understand they do an amazing job. I play drums, I love Danny Carey's drumming. Lyrically, I also know how complex they are. I know how important they are for rock and metal. They integrated a level of artistry that hadn't been heard of before them (maybe Pink Floyd).
Subjectively, I just don't like their music too much.
There are some songs here and there that I enjoy. Stinkfist comes to my mind immediately.

@@TurboShred13 Didn't have to do him like that bro
Love the Alex Grey art. This band is great on so many levels. They can go from intelligent dark adult humor (jerk-off, hush, stinkfist, prison sex, 4 degrees, etc) to psychedelic artsy proggy thought provoking shit like ( Parabola, Lateralus, Third Eye, Rosetta Stoned, Right In Two, etc). It's like a band created especially for me or someone that thinks like me. All by extremely talented musicians. Not to mention extremely intelligent and deep. Also amazing live. Had the pleasure of seeing them 3 times 3 different tours. Utmost respect
love and admiration. They can take as long as they to make music as far as I'm concerned.
You speak for most of us.
In a lot Tools songs, there is still a deeper meaning in songs like stinkfist. It's about what we lose in a chase for constant stimulation.
Very well said! I agree 💯 ❤😊
My best friend was a huge tool fan, he died 15 years ago now when we were 20, I come back to this song every now and then just to remind me of the good times we had, this song has really stuck with me.
Your friend lives in eternity like this song suggests and you will see your friend again.
I highly recommend seeing them live. It's a whole new experience.

This is the song i go to when everything is falling apart.
Well I have some news for you! Everything's falling apart now, so you can have your moment! :D
Curve away from the bad times with Parabola!
this final part melts me
Oddly, it's mine when things have already fallen. You know, when all that's left is the crying. The endless oceans of tears. And the suffering. You know. Can't leave that part out. I think Maynard is an optimist.
This is song that I heard a few times then gave it up?
I remember so clearly when I first listened to this track more than 10 years ago (along with Parabol) even though I was high af.
My friend Alexander made me stop what I was doing and got me close to the speakers saying very quietly "listen to this, listen to this" It was late night and we were close to a beach so you could just listen to the wind and the waves.
Holy shit, as soon as the firsts notes of Parabol started I was T R I P P I N G out of this world, up in the night sky, carried away by the wind and the melody and words in this song. When this heavy part started my eyes got wet, I couldn't believe it.
This was my first time listening to Tool and It captivated me so deeply that for weeks this was the only Tool song I was listening before I was ready for more.
I can't thank Alexander enough for showing me this.
damn... how old were you

This song has turned me into an unstoppable machine 🤖💪
All this pain is an illusion.
There was a moment listening to the transition between Parabol and Parabola. (It wasn't even the first time). I was driving. I was in a really low place. Girlfriend broke up with me, economically in a hole, just bad. Problems all around. So I'm listening, "All this pain is an illusion..." and then the drop. It was weird. Like electricity rolled over me. Something clicked. It was incredibly empowering. I don't know if it was the words that followed are just the energy of the song, but I was alright after that. I've listened to the songs again. Tried to recreate it. There was just something about that one moment.
Amazing! It's when the music helps pull the cork, release that tension, freeing yourself from the past and opening up for the future!
It's not weird at all. Tool can change you spiritually and mentally, their songs are really mesmerizing.
I was in a really dark place myself, and the fust time I listened to this song I had a spiritual awakening. Never had anything like it before but it's like my spirit jolted and I knew right then that everything will be ok right at the same part "We are eternal, all this pain is an illusion"
You are an eternal Soul in a temporary body experiencing temporary pain.
It's all an illusion bro.
That's an amazing God moment my friend! Indescribable!! ❤❤❤
This song comforts me when I am having an existential crisis.

@@EarthAngelDavidOfficial That's what separate's TOOL from every band is the time signature. You really have to have an ear to catch how complex it really is. That's probably why most don't understand the beauty of TOOL. They can't catch the timing because the standard is 4/4.

"We are eternal, all this pain is an illusion"
Never has a just a sentence by itself with no outside context ever made me teary eyed like this one. It comforts me and gives me hope. That any pain, mental or physical, isn't real and is just an illusion created by the universe to put you down. Because that's exactly what it is.

It's something special,it just hits me a certain way. It's difficult to explain, but I know every Tool fan understands what I mean. ✌
I think Parabol and Parabola combined is some of the best metal the world has to offer. I know exactly what you mean. The art and originality that Tool puts into music, can't be found anywhere else and the slow melody combined with the louder audio rage that come together in this song the way it does is seriously unique in the industry.

@A Friend...well you can't have one without the other. Kinda spill into each other
tool isnt only music. Is a spirit that heals everyone.
The early 2000s in its own way was a magical time for art. The media, music, film and cable television from the early 2000s are among the best ever. That time remains critically underrated.
I agree bro my childhood

Tool was definitely a band that grew on me. I listened to a few of their songs before. I knew they were talented musicians and songwriters but I could never really “get into” their music like many other people have. That was until recently when I listened to The Pot and a switch flipped in my brain that told me “Oh wait, Tool is awesome!”. And now I’ve been bingeing their music ever since. Lateralus has been my favorite album so far. There is something about the album that just puts me in a trance whenever I listen to a song from it. I’m just glad I’ve finally understood this band.
One of their best work! Otherworldly experience right here. *Remember.* *We are eternal.*
