  • Welcome to Baton Rouge, the murder capital of America, also considered as the most dangerous city in America in my latest documentary. This city, known for its high crime rates and gang activity, provides a raw backdrop for our exploration. I conducted in-depth interviews with ex-gang members and local residents to shed light on what it's really like to live amidst the violence and turmoil.
This time, my focus is on Baton Rouge, a city that not only grapples with crime but also fosters incredible musical talent. It’s the home of rap phenomenon NBA YoungBoy and other rising stars like BBG Dee, Real Bleeda, and Doddie Savage. These artists, associated with NBA and the 4KT gang, are making waves in the music industry despite the challenges they face growing up in such a volatile environment.
Previously, I covered New Orleans, Louisiana, but Baton Rouge presents its own unique stories and struggles. This documentary provides a raw look at the harsh realities of gang life and the relentless pursuit of success in the southern rap scene.

@@bluu_ice6554 OH BS. Dependson the father and stop blaming single mothers who are most of the time single due to the behavior of baby daddy who abused them and/or children and/or took a powder. No strong parents period. I raised my daughter alone; didn't turn her idjit. Some parents are worse than no parents - which applies to both fathers and mothers. But this lame BS of blaming it on single mother households is just that - lame.
When I was in high school, friend of mine did a pew pew event at our school with his hunting, er, bang stick and 200 rounds. Before the one those who don't look past headlines think started it (1975). His father and mother were still married and had been since before their children were born. Today homicide is the leading cause of death among young Black men, and contributes significantly to the shortened life-span of the Black male. In about 80-90% of the cases, the Black victim was killed by another Black, and about 52% of the murder victims were acquainted with their assailant. Just as we accept that suicide victims are psychologically impaired, we must acknowledge that a murderer is similarly impaired, and Blacks -- for both environmental and political reasons -- are likely to reflect emotional predispositions that allow them to more readily become a homicide statistic. Projected self-hatred facilitates blind rage and gives the perpetrator of the violent attack a sense of legitimacy

I really didn’t expect this video to be about my city when I clicked on it, considering how under the radar most of this information is on a mainstream level. The conditions here have been so bad recently it’s halfway lit a flame under myself to get out there and document the life people are subjugated to around here through things like discrimination of allocated resources, etc. The issue is so much deeper than just people shooting each other and that’s why the shooting has gotten so insanely outta control.

I didn’t wanna work no job ! I didn’t care about the advice old folks gave me ! Thuggin was fun to me !!! Now dat I’m much older I realize I was just a stupid azz nigha who needed to be incarcerated to get my mind right !!! If u research, our ancestors had it way harder then us but Dey didn’t kill each other off !! It start with us first ! It start with our mentality toward one another ! Black males hate other black males ! This is the very end of that mentality tho ! Black boys 10 yrs old and younger aren’t fuh up in the head ! They r a new breed of black beings ! We blame our community and everyone else for our problems but no one mentions where the real problem begins. If this way of thinking and lifestyle of living doesn't change from generation to generation, it will only get worse. The foundation in a child's upbringing in these conditions can only have two paths and like we can see, it's either incarcerated or dead but very few will live free and in peace. Great work Aaron. Seriously bless your heart. I've been homeless in Little Rock and Portland. But in all honesty I was a "visitor" in those scenarios - heartbroken by a repressed family system and oppressive, antiquated status quo behaviors by white women in the south. I didn't grow up in the south and I was well educated so the "culture" infuriated and broke me several times leading to stints of homelessness. I cannot imagine being a homeless person of color in the south 💔

You lost any credibility with your deliberate misspelling of America. Maybe the reason you've spent your life bumping along on your ass is because of the hatred you have for a country in which even the poor people are richer than 50% of the rest of the world. Your implication that this country is inherently racist, as evidenced by your spelling of America with three k's, is straight debunked by the millions of black and brown people who come here legally and are outperforming native born people of color in both education and income.

Biggest takeaway from this video...parents have to stay on top of their kids and do everything in their power to keep them in school. The mentality of these dudes comes from ignorance. An ignorance that's rooted in a lack of education. Guarantee you there are others that come from the same environment that stay in school and go on to be productive members of society. Life is about choices. They're choosing that lifestyle. Sad all the way around...

this documentary really highlights all aspects in the problems in baton rouge, i shows emphasis on how these problems root from violence that happened years ago and suppressed trauma that was never treated the right way which leads to misguided youth, it also shows the lucky ones like bbg dee who were able to still find a positive aspect in life and turn that into changing his life around for the better while also trying to uplift others and his past enemies and giving himself to god while also showing all the pain and train that is being caused to the family members and loved ones who have to endure the pain of the local violence.
prayers to everyone in baton rouge ❤

So sick of the trauma and generational trauma excuse. My father was rounded up with his family by the Stalinist regime and sent to a genoc!@e camp in Siberia while living as a marginalized and disempowered racial minority in Kalmykia as a child. His parents suffered the same all their lives. He didn't turn into a freakin social menace and neither did I. Accountability and self advancement through merit based endeavors is a thing. There are less than 1/2 a million kalmylk people in the US so I know about being marginalized minority but we don't receive incentivized welfare or Affirmative action we just had to pull it out our ass and succeed without excuses.
