- Dry brushing furniture is the quickest and easiest way to get stunning and dramatic results. If your project has some sort of detail or carving like this coffee table, you can dry brush within a matter of minutes! For flat surfaces like the top, it creates a lot of depth and interest. The more contrast in the paint colors you use, the more dramatic the look.

Thank you 🙏🏻. I’m doing a buffet with lots of carved detail. Painted with Dixie Belle Silk Anchor. Used DB Metallic blues and silver on a row of flowers in circles near the top. The feet are very detailed and I was concerned about how to tackle that. You answered that in this video! I need to paint the feet in the metallics, then dry brush over with black! Thank you again!
Glad the vid was helpful and that sounds gorgeous Teresa! Have fun!!
Very pretty
👍
I tried the veg oil to get sticky stuff off and vinegar to get a clean surface never painting and it works. Thank you.
Wonderful! I'm so glad this was helpful!
Om'gosh!!!!! I'm so glad you are doing videos Denise!!!!! Love this piece. So does my 20 year old son. He's like....I would have that in my apartment
Thanks for being so encouraging Nina... I'll get better as I go, I'm sure...lol. So glad you AND your son like the table!!
Beautiful
Thanks, I appreciate your knowledge! Great Original Video!
Super gorgeous love your work. Recently I received your email featuring the new Dixie Bell Moonshine metallic paints, I can't wait how you will apply these paints to a furniture pc. TFS
Maria Flores thanks Maria! I can’t wait to try out those Moonshine Metallics too! 🤗
It looks easy, but when I try it it's harder....
Great job! Thanks
Nice video. Did you top coat the piece when you were done? Just curious.
Hi Ray! I believe I ended up using Gator Hide poly on the top of this one. :)
I love the look! I have a detailed metal plaque and just want to highlight the details would this work with only the one paint.
I hate chalk paint, never works for me. If I dry brush with reg paint, do I still have to seal it??
If it's a high-traffic item that gets a ton of use I would recommend sealing and protecting your work. If not, no need.
Hi, if im painting a sideboard using this method, do i have to prime it first or i can just use dixie belle first layer straight?
It would depend on the existing finish. If there might be a chance of bleed through, I would suggest priming. If not, a light scuff sand and DB paint will do the job. :)
Oops you already know that. I mentioned in painting spindles
No worries... I appreciate it Wanda.. chime in anytime. Love hearing from you. :)
Nice lesson....
Thanks and thanks for watching!
What do you use to seal the paint? With detail I find it hard to use anything.
You might find Dixie Belle's spray wax easy to use on detailed items..works great. I usually spray my topcoats with poly.
Como hicistes la tapa de la mesa
Yo no lo logré. Lo reutilicé de otra mesa que tenía. :)
What colors and paint are you using
Did you fully paint the piece with the dark gray paint?
Yes I did... and then dry brushed the highlights.
@@SalvagedInspirations ok thank you very much! 🙂
