    Trying today on dining set. Would you do a tutorial on Russian Onion Dome stripes. They are straight but almost circular. I would love that on the thick base of this table. Thanks for sharing your gift!

    Hi Tracey! I loved this video! I just bought an armoire for my daughter that reminds me of the Beauty and the Beast movie, and I have already bought the antique white to start with after I sand and primer it. But I would love to use this shading technique before I add the trimming highlights of silver and/or gold. Are there certain colors of the "dirt" and wax that you recommend for an antique white? I just want to give the grooves some depth, and there are a lot of carvings and curves to this piece. I would be happy to send you a picture of what it looks like before I start cleaning and primering it if that would help?

    I love this wax tutorial! Never seen "dirt" before - what is it used for?

      It gives that shadowy, grungey look. Do you like it?

    Hi I dont use wax can I get the same effect with black paint??

  • @juliedoiminy732

    I was planning to use black chalk paint with white and gray highlights on the antique features of four dining chairs and the base of a kitchen table. I'm not familiar with using powder, as you suggested. Is there a white or gray color available in the powder?

    I don't think it's so much fear as it is money. Not only does it take time but lots of products and money; multiple brushes, waxes, paints, etc. What I want to know, why wax opposed to more paint?

    • @TraceysFancy
      @TraceysFancy  3 роки тому +2

      You can always use paints to add shading, depth, interest. Waxes are just another material available. But certainly not necessary. I just want to give people options any time I can. Anytime I use a wax, you can omit for paint instead.
      If you would like to see tutorials on highlighting and shading with just paints.....I have PLENTY of video on that as well!!!! Shading with Stormy Seas: ua-cam.com/video/vSEGOc_Cm90/v-deo.html ...or...Highlighting with so many different chalk paint colors on this nightstand ua-cam.com/video/qlg9XfcaaRY/v-deo.html

    Can I use a sealer over the wax?

    • @TraceysFancy
      @TraceysFancy  5 років тому

      All the DB products (waxes, sealers, paints) are water based and work interchangeably. So as long as they are all DB...yes maam!
