Thanks so much! It’s a bit of a different style of video for us so glad you enjoyed it! Hopefully we can make more of this style but to be honest we haven’t had that many blunders yet haha. I guess it’s a good thing 😜thanks for watching!
Holy crap!! That is absolutely insane! Glad everything got resolved! My wife and I just found your UA-cam channel and really enjoy it so far! We always had dogs when we got married 38 years ago and love them just like people who love their children, they are definitely family!❤❤❤
Wow what a hectic (bureaucratic) adventure/few days. Obviously, i knew everything worked out as you posted your pictures of being in Guatemala. Enjoy your time there!
Yeah the drone shots of driving through Mexico are always so unbelievable and beautiful. We love showing off the beauty of just a simple drive through the country. It’s so gorgeous and probably not a view many people get to see. Glad we could share it with you because we love it 🥰 😊
I'm so glad it all worked out for u guys. That had to be very stressful. But u guys handled it like a pro. Safe travels friends. Much love from Colorado USA❤
You should be able to go to the border (mexico side) place for TIPs and get a new TIP based on your new FMMs. For instance, we don't even leave Mexico to do our visa runs...just fly to the border and go to immigration on the Mexico side. We do Tijuana (cheap flights) and just go to the airport kiosk. I think you can do that with the TIP too.
It’s the best thing that could have happened. Amazing country to explore and even after all the time we’ve already had, we feel like we’re barely scratching the surface of it
What if you go to Belize instead? Just a thought. Or you could go to the United States. I’m Andrew. Y’all were kind enough to answer one of my questions on one of your videos where I asked about traveling with my bipolar scripts and the surgical steel soft tissue anchors in my right Achilles. I have a note from my podiatrist (surgeon who removed my Achilles heel spurs) now for the foot issue. I just noticed that your windshield has a massive horizontal crack.
If you read the fine print you have a full year, the car must be out no more than 365 days, but you will loose your deposit. once you return your permit, you can obtain another vehicle permit. Look at your current permit see under "VIGENCIA" See Fecha de Ingreso, then see Fecha de MAX RETORNO should exactly 1 year
Did you already have bookings in Guatemala? Were you able to refund those as Airbnbs are usually non-refundable. @mico pretty good work on the Spanish actually, I don't think you can say you "don't speak it" :) I've heard a lot of amazing things about San Cristobal de las Casas and it's on my list.
Thankfully everything we had booked in Guatemala was refundable! We made sure we to book refundable air BnB’s in case we had any border issues, and it turned out we did. Super grateful we made that choice! Thanks for the compliments on Mico’s Spanish! He’s got such a great memory for words and i agree that his spanish has come so far. I’ll make sure he sees your comment 🤩
So are you saying that Mexico & Guatemala only recognizes a 1 year rabies vaccine instead of a 3 year one? Just checking to be sure I heard that correctly. My husband and I really enjoy watching your videos.
Yes for some reason, the type of 3-yr vaccine we have from Canada isn’t valid in Mexico and beyond. So we had to renew her vaccine to the version approved in Mexico. It wasn’t a big deal since her vaccine was up in a month anyways, just surprised us and made it so that we couldn’t cross the border when we wanted to. Glad you enjoyed the video!
For sure! the ones we have are K7 brand. We're each had one for over a year and they're still in perfect condition. They're really affordable and so far they've held up great: amzn.to/3YQEqDm
There's a lot of health risks with a double rabies vaccine...or even just one..So it's kinda odd that the car was the stressful matter and not the risk to the dogs health...
how about one of you travels with the car to Guatemala in 10 days, waits at the border, and the other one crosses the border with the dog 30 days from now. it sucks being separated, but sounds less cumbersome than going back to Canada AND then returning...
Hey there! We did give that option some thought, but the trouble is then one of us would have to get Evie and all our things to the border without a vehicle. Our only option would be public transit which would have been really tough with all of Evie’s belongings and her too 😊
I would suggest Tapachula Mexico for one of you to base yourselves with Evie for the 28 or so days and the other cross over with the car into Guatemala, where there’s a border town where the other can stay. Then the person staying in Guatemala can visit whomever is staying in Mexico by simply walking across the border into Mexico! btw-Antigua Guatemala is one of my favorites places in Central America. Good Luck🤞
Oh wow, I think I got almost as nervous as you both! The video was like a short TV drama! Glad it all worked out. Enjoy your 28 day stay!

Omg guys so happy it all worked out!! Your editing and filming is so top notch!! Congrats guys. Can’t wait to watch your days in San cristobal!! 🥰
As my son likes to say, "A closed mouth doesn't get fed." In other words, if you don't ask, you can't be told yes.
I'm glad it worked out for you!
I am inspired by your positive attitudes despite the circumstance. A good frame of mind for me to strive for.
Thank you! We try our best to always be positive because we think the world will always try to give that back to us in one way or another 😊

Glad you got it sorted. btw, the drone footage was magnificent.

You guys are such a joy to watch and honestly lovely together 🥳💗
Awe thank you ☺️

Thank you! We wish we’d realized it earlier and avoided it, but so glad we got it sorted 😁

You guys make me nervous I almost cry when Mico come back 🤗
Sending positibe vibes
I am glad everything worked out with the car/permit. Everything happens for a reason. 28 days to explore more of 🇲🇽 and of course with Evie 🐕🦺
It’s the best thing that could have happened. Amazing country to explore and even after all the time we’ve already had, we feel like we’re barely scratching the surface of it
Glad you got it all sorted out. Enjoy San Cristobal. We loved it there!
Thank you! Will do! 🥰
Best wishes on Guatemala!
I'm still learning English, so, you help me and enjoy your videos 😂
Haha thank you! We will keep trying to learn Spanish as best as we can.
Just started following your videos! Love that you are going to Guatemala - we did the Acatenango hike last year so you gotta do that!
San Cristóbal is a fantastic place to go! I'm sure you loved the city.
Glad it all worked out
So are we! We weren’t that sure for a while 🙈
Watching you guys since mongolia episodes! Stay safe and have fun!!
Glad you’re enjoying them! We’re excited to share more with you 😋
I have lived in Mexico for 11 years! The government beauracracy is the worst I have ever had to deal with!!
Mico, your spanish is pretty good!
Haha thanks! We try and we’ll be taking some Spanish lessons soon so we hope to improve them!

And yes, I know of people who had their RVs/cars impounded but they didn't even get TIPs... Amazing how many people miss checking that box.
Are you able to go to Belize?

Yes but the deposit is $400😅 and no one wants to lose that and we don’t want to have the car illegally in Mexico. Glad it worked out though!

Would you be able to link to that laptop stand?

The fact that there's no freeze, you need yearly vaccines for rabies.

i'd actually just find a fake paperwork/vaccine for evie or some vet i could pay to expedite 😂😂😂 somthng very common here in the ph😢
Haha yikes you’re right but I have a feeling we’ll come across this often in South America so might as well get it done 😝
Do you know money speaks in Mexico. Go to another vet, thats retículos. I am a México citizen living in Texas I’ve traveled to Mexico with my dog.
Money speaks but we don’t want to be doing anything illegal 🙃
Much worse places to hang out that San Cris!
Definitely!
