- finally the FD will have a replacement option for the obsolete air core motors in the clusters. x27 stepper motors are readily available and used in GM clusters for their gauges.
Smartest guy in the biz!
Yer too kind bro 🤣
@@GeoffPritchett im serious...you a freaking smart dude..a little adhd squirrely like me sometimes but you can definitely figure stuff out
Awesome project! I am building something similar. What are you using to handle the incoming rpm signal and drive the X27?
I love your project, I would like to update my chevy nova but I don't know how to program, could you help me? Thanks!
Possibly, depends what you would like to have done. I do offer custom electronics and programming at an hourly rate.
I played with sw27 steppers but could find needles that fit the shafts, are you using the FD needles?
Yep I'm using FD needles but there's quite a few options for needles of these on Amazon and eBay. Have you tried those?
@@GeoffPritchett thanks for the reply, I'll look into options on Amazon
How this motor knows its position? If the power turn off while the needle is moving. Thanks
stepper motors have to sweep to the hard stop as part of a startup sequence.
@@GeoffPritchett Thanks
