@@FunkFPVquick question for you brother. How were you doing those attachments. Where they at your shop or you're going to Warehouse to Warehouse replacing these. If so how did you get around the hot work permits? You manage to call out BS, give well informed opinions, be inclusive, and you always come across as just wanting to educate people about tools and products the average American can get good use out of. Thank you, and have a great New Year
18 yr Commercial Electrician here.....Yeah, My Brunts wore within 4 months. Confirming the notion to stay away from social media trends. Right for the price but I'll stay with my Thorogoods.
I saw a video on Brunt work boots. They guy was very knowledgeable about boot construction. He cut them apart and basically thought they were cheaply made.
Thorogoods have become my go to brand ever since I got my first pair by happenstance, because our company gets a discount on them, and the company pays $80 towards work boots every year making them damn near free for me. They were the most comfortable work boots I ever wore. Had composite toe too, so it made them extra light. They lasted me almost 2 solid years, plus they look real nice too. Can’t recommend thorogoods enough to anyone looking for new boots.
Oh geez. Your EPJ incident is exactly what happened to me when I was first starting at my job. I sprained 3 toes and broke a 4th. Watching your description brought the pain back all over again, haha. Glad you're ok my dude!
Firstly, after that horror story, I'm glad to hear you're ok, still... sounded painful. Nearly lost a big toe wearing steel toe caps back in the day, not due to an accident, but due to the boot. Worn composite boots ever since and would never go back. Secondly, really appreciate your videos and your effort, your wisdom, and above all, your honesty, it's becoming increasingly difficult to trust people when it comes to such videos, over the years too many have sold out. I also admire the effort you put into engaging with and replying to the community that you have built up here, kudos... and finally a merry Christmas and a very happy and healthy new year to you sir.
I worked maintenance at an apartment complex and one of the best tools a bought was a Craftsman electric screwdriver. Mine does the swivel and it's a little cheaper then the DeWalt. It has an internal battery and there's no clutch. But like you said I never needed it. It's perfect for stuff like changing outlets or hot/cold valve cartridges for bathtubs. In one of the apartments the property manager wanted me to change every single outlet in the apartment. So having that little driver was a huge time saver. Not having to use my impact or regular drill was nice too. Having a smaller slower driver is just nice for smaller tasks. I highly recommend grabbing something similar in whatever your preferred tool brand is if they have one. The little Craftsman has served me pretty well.
@@warrenupchurch427 That is the only downside. Though charging it was never a problem. The battery lasts more then a day and as long as a remembered to charge it over night it wasn't really any different then keeping my drill batteries charged. But a swappable battery would be nice.
Bought the Dewalt Gyro screwdriver on YOUR recommendation. Its my favorite tool in the work tool kit servicing food processing equipment! THANKS for the review and recommendation, agree 100%!!
I’m a full time welder and so far, the best boots I have ever bought are from Bass Pro shop. There going on year 3 and they really don’t show much wear. Definitely a good pair 👍
Love the follow up. I appreciate when people actually use things! For the dewalt the clutch is super nice for more sensitive work like electronics. I use mine for building PC's, repairing speakers, also swapping components in server racks. Im usually on 3 or 5 for the clutch so I dont squish things. Flipping between angled and straight has become a bit of a fidget toy. The only thing I have more control with than the gyro are my Snap-On with the analogue toggle style trigger, that may be since ive been using them over 10 years though...
The gyro's screw driver was the biggest surprise to hear. I've often looked at them as gimmicky will try one out now. And as people that work with their hands all day know the biggest compliment you can give something. Is "if it broke tomorrow I would buy another one" thanks And merry christmas to you and your family
I love my little Milwaukee angle grinder. It’s handy af and mine has taken a beating. Another bonus which I didn’t think about when I bought it. When I’m using it at home and I need to do a lot of grinding. I can use it with a 6ah and do way more grinding than with my pneumatic because I don’t have a giant air compressor.
Milwaukee grinder is amazing, does go through batteries but I have a lot so I don't mind. I put a Dimond cookie on mine and have been using it for 2 years now without a problem, I call the Dimond cookie the rust destroyer
I could never go without a cordless grinder doing metal work...flap discs live on most of mine (I have a few in different sizes) as I don't do a lot of cutting with a grinder (usually my dry cut saw or portaband) but they're just so much more handy to grab for cleaning up before/after welding.
@@zaxmaxlax tripping over a cord...I have a few corded grinders too, but the cordless is so convenient and never in the way or tangled up on something. Usually for weld cleanup a single 5ah will last me a day of work in the garage. I will use the corded if I have a lot to do, or need more material removed (I have a big 7 inch as well)...but with 3 cordless, two 20v and one 60v, I'm not left wanting for corded much anymore.

I have a suitcase generator and will use that with a corded grinder and put a Dewalt battery on charge. And yeah that milwaukee die grinder is really nice, It's great for gasket and RTV removal and the more delicate deburing
Ooof about the toes I had a similar experience recently, I was using a sledge to beat the wheels off a semi tractor and missed horribly and smashed my fingers between the wheel and handle. I really did not wanna take my gloves off to look lol. I was ok though just a little dent in the skin and a bruise and sore for a few days.
One thing to keep in mind regarding the dewalt screw driver. I believe they are discontinuing the 8v line. I’ve seen it mentioned on their site when they respond to comments along with other sites (Lowe’s/hd reviews) when people complain about not being able to get extra batteries. I’ve looked at Lowe’s around where I live, I cannot get their 8v batteries at all online, in store, or ordering to store. I really hope they will come out with a replacement, as the form factor is really nice, but I have held off on getting one due to the discontinuation of the line.
oh to clarify they have stopped development so you want see new tools but thats been for years already. The drive is that good. I snagged mine when Adam Savage used one building a nerf gun and never mentioned what it was I had to track one down. Drove to a Home Depot the next day!
@@RcPlayer-tt2vw I was talking about the 8-volt line as a whole and then the screwdriver. The screwdriver with the clutch is big in rc , ya I use 12v Milwaukee with rc everyday , the clutch’s still too heavy , like you said you get a feel , I’m not sure I can get use to gyro switch though
I have the gyroscoping dewalt auto driver with the clutch and the handle that moves and guess what?? I leave it on max torque and in the straight position like you have it LOL. The fact that you can control the speed with your hand, I’ve never changed the torque. I think I turned the handle 90 degrees once LOL. You’re not missing out! LOL

Good footwear is essential. Especially considering how many man hour's a week i spend in them. I had a similar injury happen with boots. Involving an extendable forklift on construction. Not sure what u call them Stateside? Not boots Funk. Forks. 😉😂
Glad you didn’t get a 10 on rate the toe from your pallet jack incident. The composite toe may have saved you from disqualifying your left toes from future ratings.
I run the 60 volt batteries in my 20V dewalt tools when possible. Lasts a long time. But as for that model. It's HORRIBLE. any grinder iwth the thumb switch is bad. They get debris in them and refuse to stay on. So I only get paddle switch grinders now.
I had some wolverine boots that I purchased a few years ago that the sole came up on and I just superglued and baking sodad it back together and it lasted at least a year after. I will never buy another pair of wolverines because they broke about a month after purchasing them. Not that I minded repairing them but to pay $100-200 for a pair of boots to have them come undone a month after is not quality.
