- Now in our second year of visiting the Kentucky Bourbon Trail we had to get more strategic with our distillery visits and bourbon hunting. This time we hit a few stops in Louisville on the way, but stayed in Frankfort so we were closer to distilleries we wanted to visit. We spend all of Friday in Bardstown hitting the likes of Jim Beam, Four Roses, Heaven Hill, Bardstown and Lux Row. Saturday was a visit to Buffalo Trace for the daily allocated bottle and a tour, then off to Castle & Key and Wild Turkey. We had to make a stop at Party Source on the way home and visit our final distillery across the parking lot, New Riff. Stick around to the end of the video to see what bottles we brought home!

I feel you on the budget thing! I live about an hour to an hour and a half from louisville and when I run down there every few months to hit distilleries I spend a ton! I went to michters a few months ago and was able to snag a bombergers and the old lady did the fill your own barrel strength bourbon. I also met a guy to trade for a M10 from 2020. Then on the way to the car stopped at the Frazier museum and picked up an old forester single barrel barrel proof. My wallet just recovered and less than an hour ago I picked up ticked to buffalo trace for an event they are doing for national bourbon day!
Yeah it's tough to hit all those places and not buy everything! I live about 5 hours away so I always like to try to make it count when I get there. That event sounds awesome!

I mean just because I didn't find it doesn't mean I wasn't hunting it!

Very well done video! Russell’s Reserve single barrel is one of my favorites. Would love to find a Russell’s 13 or the single rickhouse. I found a New Riff 8-Year and it’s pretty good.

Honestly I loved Jim Beam but really want to go back and eat at the restaurant. Castle & Key was absolutely stunning, and Buffalo Trace was fantastic as always.

Which Buffalo Trace tour did you take?
The regular trace tour. We tried to get the hard hat tour but it filled up the second they went live on their website.
