I saw another video where they used the dollar store laundry soap and they added some liquid fabric softener to the container shook it up and theres your scent! You could add sauvitel or downy or whatever scent you like if you want more of a scent on your clothes. I thought it was a good tip and very cost effective

It's actually a really bad idea. The detergent will treat the fabric softener like extra Dirt and oils in your wah
Thus reducing your laundry detergent cleaning power on your clothes. And it washed away the fabric softener anyway. That's why you add fabric softener to the rinse cycle only

  • @RoofTopPigeon

You are CORRECT; it is NOT all about the Suds. Laundry Detergent does NOT work like bath soap. Laundry Detergent is designed too pick up contaminants from your clothes and "HOLD" them in Suspension. (i.e. Meaning in the Water) Laundry Detergent is INDEED "More Similar" too Motor Oil; then it is too Bath Soap. Engine Oil is also designed to hold engine contaminants in suspension. This is why changing your Oil is Important. This is the reason why it does NOT have to "Suds UP" and Will STILL Work Just
    Fine!~

Hi there! Thanks for your great video! I watched it 2 days ago and bought 3 bottles the day after. I tried it for the first time today and you are so right. It works well. I used to buy Purex and Tide clean but now I decided to switch to this brand. By the way, this can be used in HE washers. I called the manufacturer yesterday and the woman told me it's for HE or High Efficiency washers too. They are in the process of updating their lables.

I've been making my own detergent lately and although it's an extra chore to do, it is certainly worth it. It doesn't suds up much, but I read that the suds are actually harder on your laundry, in that it doesn't really all rinse out and stays in your clothing and can wear out the fibers quicker than if you used some with a less sudsy detergent. It would be hard to pass up for $1. for sure and I may get some for my towels and other little area rugs and that sort of thing. Thanks for vlogging on this.

Suds (and the filth that they hold) very hard to get totally washed out of your clothes. If you have Suds remaining at the end of your wash cycle you should probably do a second rinse.

I bought her a blue bottle of Tandil (Aldi Brand) for $4.00 for 64 loads. She was so happy she ran to the laundromat and rewashed all of her clothes. She said her clothes came out smelling very clean and looking better then with the Dollar Tree brand.

I have a challenge for you if you spend $8.00 for Ajax then go to your local Aldi or Save A Lot and buy either 2 bottles of the blue Mountain Fresh that is 4.00 for 64 loads. Or try the orange bottle that is much better but I only use the Save a Lot brand as it is the same as Tide and smells just like it too it also has 64 loads and is $7.00 a bottle. I am a loyal user of this stuff and I also add half a cap of Great Value Color Safe Bleach. My clothes come out smelling clean and the smell lasts for days. It also gets out funky man smells too. I have even put some of this detergent in my roommate's Tide bottle so she would try it and she could not tell the difference and has even switched. This stuff also produces lots of suds when it is washing and it is well worth the try.

In my experience soaking the stain in washing detergent for a few hours can help get rid of stains. I used anytime I want to get rid a stain works most of the time, unless its a really tough stain, but even when it doesn't get rid of the stain it makes it less visible.

As for the suds make shere you don't have a washer machine that requires low suds. Or it can brake the washer machine.

LA awesome is good for people who don't like strong smells, and if you have one of those new machines that uses less water, this LA Awesome detergent with oxiclean works well where your clothes will be clean, but they won't have a soapy residue, definitely recommend for the newer machines.

I use it every week to clean my laundry and it removes all stains including ketchup, mustards, dirt, stew, etc.... For the fragrance, i just add laundry sheets when it's drying to have my clothes smell good, or i sometimes use swiftel liquid fragrance(which needs to be added during rinse cycle).

I know this is an older video but almost always you can find Ajax laundry detergent (and dishwashing soap) at the Dollar Tree , However less suds means your clothes will be a lot cleaner, especially with towels, the more suds you've got the more it gets into the clothes and leaves a layer of soap scum that you don't see or feel but it's there

Okay, after watching the video and reading through all of the comments here, I am going to pick up one bottle and give it a try.
I am a HUGE laundry soap snob. Gain Original is my favorite scent but Tide with Bleach is my favorite as far as cleaning power. I am a HUGE fan of heavily scented laundry soaps, sprinkles, Downy, and I always, always use three Bounce Outdoor Fresh dryer sheets in every load. I cannot, CANNOT, stand static cling!
I live in west Texas, smack dab in the middle of the oilfield and things tend to get greasy like mad. I used to do admin work in a couple of offices around here and the oilfield guys swear by "Foca" laundry powder for getting those stains out. I tend to get little splatters on my shirts when I'm cooking anything with grease, oil or butter - it always finds a way onto my clothes, never fails. I tried adding a cup of Foca powder (purchased at Sam's and/or Germ-Mart (Walmart) and it has been fantastic at getting the splatters out of my shirts. I also hang all of my shirts to dry and love the way they smell up room while hanging there.
Anyway, back on track here... I'm going to grab a bottle of one of the LA Awesome Laundry Detergents - not sure which one as I will have to smell them all before I decide to throw one in my basket - and will try it. I will try it alone, first with only Bounce in the dryer. I will wash Nala's (my spoiled fur-kid) blankets and see how they come out smelling. I wash her stuff regularly so it's not like they smell like dog or anything. If her stuff comes out smelling great, I'll try it on towels next. I may have to do as another poster has suggested - in adding either downy or whatever - maybe scent boosting beads to the laundry soap to give it a scent boost - if it's a sufficient cleaner, in my eyes.
I completely agree about suds! Our minds equate suds with clean - when I see detergent that doesn't sud up well, I don't feel it cleans as well and tend to add more detergent than I should use to try to boost the cleaning power (in my mind). =)

Nat McCulley I do like the way they clean but the scents are not that strong so you want be satisfied with with the smell. They smell good in the bottle but it does not last in the clothes.

Those ODORS are from your new or post 2008 washer. New washers called "HE" don't use enough water to remove bacteria and let them grow hence the smells..PU

leonort487 I have never purchased a front loading machine, but I used to have a top load HE Kenmore machine. It was a disaster. The set finally died, so I bought a top load Maytag HE machine with an agitator and I am in love! It's almost like the original machines and it has a deep water wash option. I don't know who came up with some of these new washing machine designs, but they need to change their career path.

If you use a classic may-tag Type you need no other detergent

I used to swear by the suds too, then in 2015 I got a HE washer. It's a good trade off, because the HE washers do get your clothes cleaner.
I usually buy Tide for clothes, and Arm & Hammer for sheets, towels, and my dog's bedding. The LA Totally Awesome oxi booster for laundry does work well though.

They have the xtra detergent for like $2 and some change at Walmart. The size that's on your dryer in the back. Or the huge one for 7 I think. I'm a sucker when it comes to detergent and always go back to tide(not a fan of the gain smell) but for inexpensive detergents I love all free and clear and then Purex baby. I've only found it at Walmart and it is soooo good. It does not smell like baby powder or anything it's a very clean great smell for the whole family. I love it

It is hard to convince women away from nationally advertised brands. All DT laundry detergents work as well or better than brand names and at a fraction of the cost. When I am at DT, I take it upon self to express, to women, how well products work sold by DT; mostly the detergent. The reply from most of these women is, "It's watered down.."

    • @jazcaddell2443
      @jazcaddell2443 5 років тому

Hi chemical engineer here it is watered down however it uses different chemicals that cause it to sud like that. Both are pretty irrelevant as they clean fine. However, they are not good for sensitive skin.
