    I shared my recipe for Guyanese Style bake/s or floats a while back, on my blog. See below for a link to the recipe. Today I'm sharing my recipe in video form. Hope you check it out and make some salt fish and bake for breakfast or brunch this weekend!

    So happy i found this recipe from nine years ago. My bake always come out either hard or not cooked inside (even when I use other youtubers recipes) I used yours for dinner tonight and my bake came out perfect. Soft, cooked on the inside and it swell too! Thank you soooo much! ❤

    Just taking the time to say 🙏 THANK YOU I’m been asking my mother to teach me this and that day haven’t come ever... now that I have seen this video and I see the greatest quality of bakes I truly know I’m gonna nail the recipe in the kitchen.... you’ve inspired me to show my mom that I can be great or greater even though it seems like clueless

    Thank you for posting! My Mother would use white sugar and cut the dough into triangles! So many nice memories :)

    We make those here in Belize, I usually add a little butter and little salt and way less sugar. We call them fry cakes or fry jacks. Love them, perfect for breakfast.

    Enjoyed your guyanese style bake.i am a borned guyanese but lives in toronto.Thanks for sharing your cooking with me.i will surely try your receipe. Cooking is just my hobby.i never had to cook growing up in Guyana since I had my mom and sisters who do the cooking.my dad made a bell a like yours when he was a machinist at Albion sugar factory.

    Amazing! I was born here but my folks are GT my older sisters were born back home. My mom passed when I was young so I remember eating all these thing but didn't learn to make them, and my sisters all married American men( who I love) but I married a Trinidadian. So your channel will help me teach my kids all that I thought was lost.

    WHAT!!!! Your uncle MADE THAT ROLLING PIN???? Wait!!!! You said MADE!!! I dont believe that. That rolling pin looks like it was factory made especially for BEYONCE! Ive NEVER EVER seen a rolling pin soooooo glamourous. You are blessed.

    Great video! Nice voice, good cooking vocabulary in an easy to understand and follow manner, no loud shaking and jumping music and I am sure all those princesses out there that did not learn from mom and grandma appreciate you as much as I do.A great bear hug for you!

    Oh my goodness these are to die for..... first time making these they are going to be my go to from now on...I got 8 and I may just eat all of them they are so good. But I’m not will make some more tomorrow cause these are not going to the day...thank you for sharing such and easy but delicious recipe 😋😋😋😋🤪

      u can also put some milk powder est and some butter or olive oil it will come out more puffy and when it's hot it will crisp and when it's cold it will be soft

    I stirred the brown sugar in warm water. It raises the dough faster.i also add some light butter and a touch of salt in the flour.i then rolled out the whole batch of dough and cut into 6 inches squares. Then fry.

      @@carmenarjoon6729 Yes, I see the option about adding the yeast. 1 tsp yeast, 2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar. BAM!

    Hi!!! Nice recepie..In India we call it PURI. Normally we use whole wheat flower, Jaggery, little salt.. In India we prepare lots of varieties of Puri...spicy, sweet, plain, using pumpkin and cucumber...but yes I would like to try your recepie..

    Loved the recipe! I used spelt flour, less sugar and added a dash of salt AND it came out fantastic. I always wanted to learn to make bake like this😊.

    I tried it your way ( thats without the Yeast ) using the baking powder and it came out perfectly.

      Yeast is over rated.......as the years gone by i so very ever use yeast.......
